Wow, good question!  I haven't clocked myself, but sometimes it feels like I spend every waking hour with my Sims!  I've only played Sims 3, though, so I'm immensely fascinated by all of it and really excited about World Adventures coming out next month!

In one single sitting I assume? Hmmm...maybe 3 or 4 hours.  I do play a lot — I can afford to being a stay-at-home dad where 2 of my older daughters are at school all day and the youngest daughter is in preschool half the day. But, there's still cleaning, laundry, cooking, errands, playing with the little one in the afternoon, etc, etc. And feeding my Diablo II obsession too.

Good question!  Wow Carl!  And I thought I was bad at sometimes 12 hr sessions.    These sessions happened quite frequently, especially during sims 2 every time an ep would come out. 

Now that I'm at home all the time, it seems like it's harder because of chores to do first, most of the time...sometimes maybe.   I still manage to get in a 12 hr session once in awhile, but mostly 4-5 hrs. now.

I have a house, hubby and baby to look after so can't spend as long as I would like, but have spent about 3-4 hours on it...oops! Back when I was a wee lass and playing the sims 1, I sometimes spent 6-7 hours on it without realising.

When Sims 3 first came out I was so excited that I spent all day playing. I woke up at six am played all day(occasionally running to the kitchen for food/water and went to bed at ten that night so I could work the next day. Soooo...sixteen hours, minus five minutes here or there for required breaks...

Ah, someone will come in who tops me. Someone really obsessed who got it the day it came out and all that. I mainly did that when I was working to launch a few guides on my old web site. I didn't know at the time that the gardening guide alone, in its infant form would top every other work I'd written in the past five years. Now that I've put in hundreds of hours into the game, I keep it at about 4 or 5 hours. The expansion is going to take some energy drinks

Hmmm...not sure about the number of hours.  When I first got the game and I had the first weekend off to play I remember starting in the morning on Saturday and remember having to turn the lights on because it was dark....then having to turn the lights off because it was daylight on Sunday.  So I might be right up there with Carl or even have him beat!

Not long. Four hours, maybe, with my brother when we first bought the game.
Unfortunately, even in the summer when I don't have seven hours of school plus one hour travelling, my mum insists I eat, sleep, communicate and get some exercise, to the extent of making up a shopping list and sending me down to the shops with it. I can't play for more than 2 hours now before my mum tells me I'll be fat and/or my brother insists he wants to go on.

I'm a serious gamer, so when I play any game I play it for hours upon hours when I have time to do so.  My record for the Sims 3 is probably in the neighborhood of 14 hours.

I'm currently distracted by another game (an old game made new to me by a really cool mod), but despite this I still play Sims 3 for a few hours a week.

When I first got the game I'd play from around...ooh, maybe 8am til 3 or 4am the next day? So possibly up to 20 hours at a time, with a few bathroom breaks and trips to the kitchen to get some toast and tea in between. I don't know how I managed it - it was a very small and uncomfortable couch, and my laptop was really low quality. I've gotten a decent desktop computer since then, and out of curiosity tried playing the game on my laptop again. Nope, no way, the graphics were terrible and the game lagged something awful. I don't know if my laptop has gone downhill since then, or if I was just too engrossed in the game to notice the bad graphics back then.

I can't play for that long these days - I get bored with my games quickly, and have to go find something else to do. But I still open The Sims 3 and mess around for a few hours every day, and when I was away on holidays a few weeks ago I craved the game pretty bad xD. No wonder my family thinks I'm addicted.

Because it takes a while for the game to load up on my laptop and I can't do anything else on it while I'm playing, I only play when I know I have a good chunk of time available so I tend to do marathon sessions. I play a minimum of 6 hours at a time, and the longest I've gone is just shy of 24 hours. However, I've had the game itself on an entire weekend before, taking extended breaks to run quick errands.

Yeah I've prolly played for about 18 hours straight (when I first got TS3: Pets) and that's with two 5 minutes breaks for snackage and only 1 loo break (steel bladder that's me!!).... Now I tend to go for 2-3 hour stretches due to the blasted error 12

The amount of time the computer is on with Sims up is different than actual play time.  I turn it on and when I go to shower I leave it on.  Same with breaks to go potty or fix something to eat. 

So, actual play time, probably 8 hours, but time the game was up and running, 12 hours generally.  A good amount of that time can at times be remodeling a house.  I never plan on spending 4 hours remodeling a house, but sometimes I get so into it that the time has gone by, hubby is going are you every going to eat something?  And so I have to take a break.  I have to confess that I often bring my plate to my desk and eat while I am playing.
Won't have food around my books, but don't seem to mind around the computer.   
As soon as I find a job it will cut back a lot, I am sure.

M-F, after work, it gets turned on @ 6:00-8:00 depending on errands, dinner, etc. But I usually eat dinner playing. And then turn it off 11:00-12:00. So short sessions for me during the week, only 4-6 hours. Weekends though, computer gets turned on as soon as I get up 7-9 and Sims pretty soon after that, then I play all day with a few breaks for necessary stuff (I just save and pause) and don't stop playing til 1 or 2 a.m, sometimes later. Unless of course we have to go and actually DO something that day. Longest session, I'd guess, is probably @ 14-16 hours, but if I've got a new expansion, or neighborhood, watch out! My husband doesn't call me a Simaniac for nothing.

I don't usually spend that much time on a day-to-day basis. Normally it's about three or four, maybe longer if I'm up early. My parents say to me 'Are you still on Sims?' and I quickly come on here and say 'No, no, I'm on the Forum... um, doing creative writing and improving my reading skills...' It works a charm

I haven't played for almost a year due to a laptop malfunction and now I am in awe of all the amazing graphics that I was missing. Oh god, lately I've been playing 3 to 4 hours straight, and that's been on a daily basis for the past week or so, and if I can have a whole day of relaxing, very much of that would be playing Sims. I mostly like to make Sims and decorate homes. I have a few households I'm playing using different standards. I've been playing Sims since I was 17 and I'm 25 now. I'm happy to say I first started on Sims 1 with all the expansion packs. Love it!

I have gone for as long as 30-33 hrs twice, but my usual habit is to turn the computer on around 11.00am and turn in between 3-4.00am (the next day).  So approx. 16-17 hrs in a session.  I also love to check-in on the forum and just pick places to go.  It's fascinating, heartwrenchingly funny and I love the anecdotes and so much is identifiable.  And so much more I don't know about.  So I will minimize my game for an hour or so once a month and definitely when I have problems and have to come here for help.  It's the best.
