Introduction: Meet Jamie Jolina

You could say that Jamie Jolina has the best of both worlds. She's both intelligent and musically gifted but at the same time she's flirty and is said to be quite the party animal. Many have also complimented on her good looks but she was never one to flaunt about it. To top it all off, she's a doctor. And not just any doctor, she's a trauma surgeon to be precise. Yet with all her wonderful qualities, she lives alone in a two-bedroom house. It's actually kind of sad when you think about...



Jamie: Hey, excuse me, Miss Narrator. Thank you for the kind words but I believe you're boring your readers. And besides, you're making me blush. Can we please get on with the story?
Watcher: Alright. You can call me Watcher by the way. Speaking of which Jamie, is your makeup normally this bad? You need a makeover badly.
Jamie: What? I like the way I look right now.
Watcher: Quickly! Off to the wardrobe with you!
Jamie: Arrgh... *mutters to herself*



Jamie: Oof! Hey, what gives? Watcher, you booby-trapped my cabinet didn't you?
Watcher: Who, me? I didn't touch it. You're just a klutz.

A few moments later...



Jamie: Wow... I love it! But wait, where are my glasses?
Watcher: O, don't worry about that. I'll get you a pair of contacts tomorrow.

Chapter 1: Along Came a Wolff

With her new makeover, Jamie was easily the most ravishing Sim in all of Sunset Valley. But there was a problem; she was single. Now being single is not necessarily a problem. In fact, many Sims live their entire lives without having a spouse. Take Agnes Crumplebottom for example. Rumour has it that she had a husband but he died in...

Jamie: Um... Watcher? You're ranting again. Are you going to do this every time you start a new chapter?
Watcher: O, sorry, my bad. I'll try to restrain myself next time. On with the story!

As Jamie stepped into her small living room, she heard a loud knock on her door.



Thornton: Jamie, you won't believe what Morgana called me this morning. A pathetic llama! So I told her, "No, you know what?! You ARE a llama!" I've never been so insulted ever! All this over a pile of dirty dishes!
Jamie: Please, feel free to barge right into my house uninvited. Why can't you two just get along?
Thornton: I... I simply can't stand her anymore! *sigh* I keep bothering you with my marital problems, I'm sorry. I just don't know who else to turn to. But you've been a good friend Jamie, thank you.
Jamie: O, I don't really mind. I actually enjoy the company.
Thornton: By the way, I love your new look.
Jamie: Thank you. *blushes*



Jamie: Don't take this the wrong way, but have you ever considered... you know, breaking up with her?
Thornton: Yeah, I do occasionally. But this is the last straw! Her and I are through!



Jamie: Are you absolutely sure about... huh?! Thornton, why are you...?
Thornton: *holds her hands* Jamie, do you know why I come over so often? It's not only to get away from Morgana, it's actually more about seeing your beautiful face again. Jamie, I don't know how to tell you this but I... um, I think I've...



Jamie: *smooch!* Yes Thornton? You think you've what?
Thornton: I... I...
Jamie: Thornton, every time I see you, it just makes me so happy. And I don't know how to tell you this either but...



Jamie: *kneels* Thornton Wolff, will you marry me?
Thornton: *gasp!* Jamie! I... Yes, yes!





Jamie: Hey um, I think I'm going to take a shower. You want to join me?
Thornton: Oh um, sure. And Jamie, I just want to tell you, you look so beautiful.



♫A random tune plays.♫

Thornton: Jamie, listen. Did you change your ringtone?
Jamie: What? No, I didn't. Are you sure it's not your phone?

I love how you referred to a lot of things other writers don't from a sims point of view. Very creative!

Looking back on Jamie and Thornton's developing relationship, I think using the terms "third wheel" and "rebound" could have added a different flavour to the awkward scenario. And it seems my story sometimes veers off into some suggestive themes but hopefully it's not at the level of risqué. Also, I tend to write with a certain dramatic overtone which is much more serious than the other humour-filled stories here. But what's written is written, I'll let it be.

Chapter 2: Drama at the Wedding Party

Ah, love is truly blind, isn't it? Clearly, Thornton has commitment issues so why would Jamie willingly be his rebound girl? She's one smart cookie, but her affection for him covers up his faults. Let's see how long this will last?



Jamie: So... what date should we set for the wedding?
Thornton: What? So quickly? We've only been engaged for about half an hour.
Jamie: Well, you do love me right? *bats her eyelashes*
Thornton: I do Jamie, I do. But marriage is a...
Jamie: Great! I'll call up the guests!



Jamie: Hank! Hey, guess what? I'm getting married!
Hank: Really? It's about time someone picked up a gorgeous chick like yourself.
Jamie: O, stop it you. Pauline better of not heard that comment. And invite her too! My place, 8:30 tonight, formal wear.
Hank: Cool! Who's the lucky groom?
Jamie: The handsome devil known as Thornton Wolff!
Hank: Thornton? I thought he and Morgana were already a couple?
Jamie: Yeah, but he broke up with her. I'll see you there!



Jamie: Hm, the party's in an hour and it's too late to order food. I'll start making a salad.
Thornton: You sure you know what you're doing?
Jamie: Absolutely!

8:20 pm: The first guests begin arriving.
8:25 pm: A furious woman in a black dress storms through the front door.



Morgana: JAMIE JOLINA! You husband-stealing, no-good llama! What could Thornton possibly see in you?! I hear you two lovebirds are getting married, eh? Hah! I bet it won't last a week!
Thornton: Uh oh...
Jamie: Morgana, it's not my fault. Thornton and I know all about the horrible things you say to him. We have a relationship that you couldn't possibly dream to have. Hey, wait a second. You weren't on the invite list.
Morgana: I'll go where I wish.
Jamie: Suit yourself, enjoy watching Thornton and I exchange vows.
Morgana: Argh... *incomprehensible mutterings*



Jamie: Pauline, enjoying your salad? I made it myself.
Pauline: It's not half bad. Hey hear me out girl, I don't mean to be a wet blanket but I don't think you should marry him so soon. Get to know him better first. Plus, he doesn't seem to be "husband material".
Jamie: *puts on a smug look* You know, we've had this underground relationship going for over a year. It was time to bring it to the light.
Pauline: But Morgana, that poor woman...
Jamie: She'll find someone else, don't worry. Nah, just kidding! That witch is hopeless!

Later...



Hank: Look what I got for you! I was going to give this to the bride but I saved it for you, my love.
Pauline: O Hank, these are beautiful!
Hank: Not as beautiful as you, Pauline.



Geoffrey: I heard someone's newly single... want to dance?
Morgana: No, not really. Get away from me or I'll tell Nancy you're flirting with random strangers.
Geoffrey: Wow, someone's in a bad mood.



Watcher: Gosh, I'm jealous.
Jamie: He's all mine!



Thornton: Hey Jamie, are you alright?
Jamie: Urgh... I'm not sure. I think it was the salad. I'll be back.



Meanwhile...



Pauline: May I have this dance?
Thornton: Um, sure. But wouldn't you rather dance with your fiancé?
Pauline: Nah, he's boring. I like you better.
Thornton: Ok, but only while Jamie's in the bathroom.

Ten minutes later...



Thornton: Jamie, I never loved a woman more than I have loved you. Ever since I saw you, I knew you had to be mine. I promise to love and protect you now and forever.
Morgana: Boo! He's lying to you, Jamie!



Jamie: Thornton, my love for you is higher than the sky and deeper than the sea. And just as the earth revolves around the sun, my love for you is never ending.
Geoffrey: That was beautiful!
Pauline: *thinking to herself* Well, Thornton's taken. I guess Hank will have to do, for now...
Morgana: Pretty good lady, but I've heard better.



Hank: Hooray! I hope Pauline and I get married soon...
Geoffrey: *throws confetti* What a great party!
