Isabelle looked gorgeous! I can't wait to see which girl Rufus will likely go after >.> I have a feeling when Isadora meant "bringing in the next generation" she meant the one after Edwin's kids haha! :D

Anyways, best wishes for Isabelle but I honestly think she's better off without marriage. She's more powerful that way with nothing to hold her back.

I don't think I'm gonna have Walter go away anytime soon. I absolutley love him---I should do a bonus chapter about him and Isabelle, because they really are great for each other.

Also, Livvie, you need to stop with all this psychic nonsense. >.> I, the cruel mistress of pumpkins, does not approve of you being right about everything.

Wow, you made Walter look hot! Another marriage for Iz? I wonder how her new husband will fare.

Walter has one of those generic EA faces that the game gives to the party dancers, but I did my best to make him look a little unique without tweaking his features. Not like him and Isabelle are having kids anytime soon! Hahaha...hahaha...haha...-clears throat-

Well, that's because you said this first:

I don't know what else to tell you, Eldridge XD

So, I thought that you running out of idea for making Isabelle looking good person in my eyes. I’m not easily convinced you know ::)
It's okay. I always loved to discuss something about the story that I planned anyway. And you ARE the writer. Well, a real one so you already have something in your mind. I hope that you wouldn’t angry to me because of that I just want to help Rufus from Isabelle evil's plot you anyway ^^

I really loved your screenshots as always, you took the right moments and the right time to achieve that ♥ Did you play on the normal span? Or you have your own rule just to aging up?

Welcome Sierra! Oooh, I love Regina, she's like a nerd with that looks.

Paolo was special with his hair though. I wonder who would be the chosen one.

Ahh no no no, I'm not out of ideas. I just felt a little pressured from you all of a sudden XD I'm sorry if I sounded crabby I really didn't mean it. It's one thing to write a story and throw it at people, harder when you have constant feedback.

Regina is a serious nerd XD But she's a musical nerd. After the next chapter the poll will be up =D

I have a prediction! Regina is going to be a more classical musician and Sierra is going to be a rebellious one. I have spoken, and so it shall be! (I'm kidding, of course.)  ;D

Glad to know about that, Mizzilee. Of course it's hard when you said that she was not like that but you actually said she so different without any convincing events. I've been reading yours but I never commented. Until I was laughing to see someone comment ::)

Well, as a writer to our own story or own little world, we do have unbelievable amount power. Just want to say that. Great power comes with great responsibility :P

Just want to drop by and say that you’ve another reader who shows up after being a silent reader.

I loved Paolo hair that was unique one! Did you do that on purpose? And just look at our little Regina. I’m surprised that she turns out to be such a nerd. But, still she’s gorgeous like another family member. There’s a lot of toddler spam here and they’re all adorable! I just can’t wait to see Sierra would become. Hope the next update I could see at least her toddler look ♥

Comments are always welcome! I love comments. They make my tiny little world go round and round. Welcome to the party! I gave Paolo the orange tips, originally he had Marc's blue tips.  Regina's nerd side doesn't show much until she becomes a teen, which will come in the update AFTER this one here.  But like I said, welcome to the Morae party XD

Water under the metaphorical bridge, baby. I love and appreciate all of your comments really. There's a lot for me to keep straight in my head and pack into a chapter so what's obvious in my head isn't always obvious in the story.

Also, I'm sure it looks like the family never goes outside of the house and by all rights they should have the Stir Crazy Moodlet, but they do all leave the house regularly. It's just that nothing interesting ever happens in Monte Vista! I have them visit community lots and no one shows up. When they do, they leave as soon as they show up. So I haven't been able to do much outside of the mansion.

17: The Resolve of Regina Morae

"What's up, Aunt Izzy?"

"I need you do something for me, dear."

Rufus nodded, floating off the ground for a second in his 'I'm a cool genie' pose, before saying, "Something to do with your Great Grandmother?"

"Right. Smart boy. Remember that Miner Edwin made the other day? I need you to drive over to 49 Modena Drive and see if you can find anything there. That lot used to be where she lived and, according to Isabella Monty, it's got a ward of some sort to prevent the locals from getting in. But as it stands, we aren't locals."

Rufus crossed his arms over his chest, "You think she'd put a ward up just to keep out townies? If she's in the same bloodline as you, she'd probably think up something more clever than that."

"Which lead me to believe it's also protected from non-supernaturals. There's not a single witch, genie, werewolf or anything of the like in this town aside from you, me and Marrick. Go and see what you can find there---apparently she buried something there. If you can't get in, then come see me. Otherwise, see what you can find. It must be something valuable if she didn't let it get shipped to City Hall with the rest of her belongings."

"I'm on my way then." Rufus nodded, then tilted his head to the side, "City Hall...is that why Walter works at City Hall? Are you trying to get your Great Grandmother's stuff back?"

Isabelle didn't answer as she walked away, but Rufus knew his Aunt. She was a clever, clever woman. Just as Isabelle said, he was able to break right through the ward without issue. He started digging in one spot, and after finding a tunnel and moving the miner elsewehre, an random bystander was suddenly calling to him.

“Hey! I don’t know what you’re doing or how, but you better get off that lot, man. The City says no one’s allowed here. Some crazy old witch used to live here.”

Rufus calmly walked over to the man and said in something of a low tone, "Then maybe you should leave...”

Rufus had never really harnessed his Genie powers in such a way before, but he didn't hate it. He felt very...powerful. But there wasn't much time to think on that new found emotion as he had to get as much digging done as he could before the sun came out and more nosy townies came by. He was there most of the night and eventually he came across two very valuable items.

Tiberium and Pink Diamond. If this wasn't Isabelle had been looking for, Rufus didn't know what. And with him only one skill level away from being able to clone things...the Morae family was going to be very rich soon.
----

I discovered that in my making Regina over I forgot to give her shoes in her everyday outfit. When I went to put them on her? Well, the game glitched and she came out of the CAS without them again. She must not like them. She's a very free-spirited little girl.

Even without the matching trait, she loves the outdoors and always wants to go to the park and I catch her in the music room in front of the violin every now and then. I'm guess that just ends up being her landing spot after she stops walking from some place, but it's a little ironic that she ends up THERE. She does her homework automatically, plays with her Imaginary Friend (who has been creatively named Bob), helps Rufus clean and is playing Peek-a-boo with Sierra on a regular basis. So come Sierra's child birthday, they were very close friends. The cake set the kitchen on fire. Rufus and Isabelle teamed up to expertly put it out---And then the fireman showed up and got mad for calling emergency services for no reason and fined them 500 Simoleons.

Sierra demanded a liberal use of her favorite color, pink, in her wardrobe. And moreover, the blue highlights of Marc's hair has been working it's way through the generations and it was very necessary to stamp that out. Personally, she has my favorite makeover out of everyone thus far, even more than Isabelle's wedding makeover.

The girls got along with each other very well in the few days they were kids together. Playing video games and doing homework. But much like their parents, mostly video games.

"Remember our field trip we took to the Symphony, Sierra?"

The younger sister smashed the buttons on the controller fiercely, making the bear on the screen do...whatever it was supposed to be doing, "Yeah, what about it?"

"Apparently the composer lived in Dragon Valley like a hundred years ago and composed some of the best concertos SimNation has ever heard! And I looked up Dragon Valley on the computer, it's beautiful."

"Are there actual dragons there?"

"I don't know. But I'm gonna live there one day. I hope there aren't dragons. I think I've had enough fires." She shot Sierra a little look that the younger girl just smirked at.

"Don't look at me like that. It's not my fault the kitchen is flammable and went up with a couple of birthday cake candles..."

Sierra smashed the controller again, "Dragons are cool. If they're real. I looked up some sheet music today. Added it to my 'Music to play when I'm old enough for the music room' pile."

"Who's it by?"

"I don't know. Not classical music though. It's all electric guitar."

Regina laughed a little at her excited baby sister, "We should start a band! We'll be the 'Dragon Girls'"

"Yes, YES!" Sierra said excitedly, "Let's do it. An electric guitar and a violinist, that'll be something."

Sierra loves her older sister a lot. They hug alot and chat a lot, and always end up doing their homework together, but they also share something else in common---a shared dislike for Isabelle.

Not sure what it is. They say kids are sensitive and are a good judge of character. Sad to say, not much happened in the final three days of Regina's childhood, her teen birthday came around and Cipriana's famous square jaw became very visible in her features.

After her birthday, Isabelle made her way into the Music Room to listen to Paolo who suddenly developed an interest in the guitar. Regina went in as well, this time to find an instrument for herself to play and the two of them crossed paths.

"Happy Birthday, sweetheart."

Regina scoffed a little, "Don't sweetheart me, Grandma. I don't know how you stay young or why, I don't know what you're M.O. is but I do know that all evil comes with a price. And you're bound to pay a big one REALLY soon. You're a controlling person...you use people. But you can't use me, and don't even think about coming anywhere near Sierra."

Isabelle admired her attitude, and rather than biting back, she said to her calmly, "I have no intention of using anyone. The people around me who do as I say when I say all chose to do so on their own. Rufus loves me, Walter loves me, your father and mother love me, so does your brother."

"But I don't. And neither does Sierra. You know we both dislike you..."

"You don't love me? Or do you just not love my methods...how could you, sweet little bare-footed Regina, truly not love anyone in her family?"

Regina was quiet for a moment, and Isabelle smirked, "Before you decide to challenge someone, come fully prepared. Not that there's anything to challenge. After your parents choose on of you as heir, I get dethroned, remember? You can do whatever you want."

And then she walked away. Regina let out a sigh and looked over at the instruments, then decided which would be her's to play.

------

There might be something wrong with my install, but the bow doesn't show up when Regina plays the violin.

At the beginning of the chapter, that was in fact Isabelle, not Isadora who's normally shown from the back. That just happened to be the direction from which I took the screencaps.  As for the Tiberium and Pink Diamond---Rufus really did find that. It was completely random and I screamed when I saw it. "THEY NEVER HAVE TO WORK AGAIN" was my exact response. Originally Rufus was going to find some old furniture (or I hoped he would) that would get jammed in the drill like the game often says and it have mystical properties...I had a whole plot. But hey, that's the sims for you!

The bow doesn't show up because Regina is just that awesome!
And I apologize for being right a lot, I just have a mind for guessing things... >.> my first thought was "Rufus, next generation" and I connected the two with him having the next generation. At first I thought that was silly since there weren't any girls yet, but now that there are... it started to make sense.
:) Anyways, I'm excited to see who will be chosen this time, will they dethrone your founder? Or will she live on?

She'll live on, definitely. I'm just curious to see who will try.

It seems that Regina just using an imaginary bow :P

I'm quite surprised to know that both of girls dislike Isabella and they are so compatible with each other even their taste of music is different.  So, Dragon Valley might be the possibility the next available location then? I look forward for the band.

I wonder what will happen next, but I’ll keep that for myself.

The story about Isabelle and Rufus, my reaction just hmm... I need to see more.

But, that was interesting moments when you see Regina and Sierra get along together and they even shared their dislike toward Isabelle. Go, girls! Even I know that Isabelle is evil ::) but at least when she meets her end as being dethroned she deserved a happy ending too. I know that Rufus will be there for her, as I can see there’s an invisible connection.

And the last:
Regina is amazing! She can even play her violin without her bow. She's truly a musical genius! Maybe she’s a musical magician! Yes, that must be it XD

She'll live on, definitely. I'm just curious to see who will try.

Regina is quite awesome. I actually love her the most out of Edwin's children (I shouldn't play favorites, but I do). Rufus will have a part in the birth of the third generation (who ever it is that gets voted as heir), but not in the sense of marrying and being the father. Rufus and the kids are related by blood because of Marc (Marc is Rufus's father, the kid's grandfather) which makes Rufus their Uncle.

Isabelle can't be dethroned...well she can, but it's very unlikely.

It seems that Regina just using an imaginary bow :P

Maybe XD

I have no idea why they both dislike her! Most people boo her when she glows red, but Regina and Sierra boo the second she shows up within 10 steps of them. Dragon Valley is a possibility. If either of the girls are selected as heir, that's where they're headed. If Paolo gets picked, they're off to Starlight Shores.

Yes, yes, your Rufus bias will be sated eventually XD But you sound so sure that something bad is going to happen to my dear founder!

Regina and Sierra have both already picked their lifetime wishes---Rockstar for Sierra, Syphony for Regina. Their personalities are very distinct, but similar so they get along really well.

Sierra looks great, I love her hair. Isabelle better not do anything to force Regina and Sierra to follow her orders D:<

Sierra's hair was an accident. Was trying to make it brown, mouse freaked out and went to hot pink and I loved it.

C'mon, this is Isabellle! If you can't see where this is going, you don't know my founder very well XD

"I knew you had it in you, Sierra! Where are we going?"

"It's summer in Monte Vista, Pegs, where do you think we're going?!"

"Hello, Mrs. Modena."

"Mrs. Morae, was Sierra at school today?"

"Yes she was. I saw her leave with Regina this morning."

"The school just called---Peggy and Sierra both skipped school today."

"She---she what?! I--alright. Thank you for telling me." I should have listened to Isabelle

18: The Rebellion of Sierra Morae

Things were rather monotonous around the house, falling into that usual manner of everyday ordinary while each of the house members pursued different things and tried their best to stay out from underneath Isabelle's foot. Paolo developed the wish to become a Master Acrobat after working out in front of the t.v.

Regina developed her own wish to become a Hit Movie Composer, while Sierra developed the desire to become a Rockstar after watching her big sister playing the violin. Rufus started taking a few steps towards his goal of being a Blog Artist, creating a Review blog called 'The Impressions of a Genie'.

Cipriana and Isabelle both require logic for work, Isabelle managed to get promoted to Empress of Evil without it, but her work performance has been lagging to the point where it needed to be addressed. But the monotony died down the day Sierra met a young girl named Peggy at school and invited her over to the house.

"Hurry up, Pegs, you're such a slow poke!" She called back to her. Peggy and Sierra were fast friends, calling each other 'Best Friend' by the end of two consecutive school days. One day, Sierra brought Peggy back to the house, without permission, but no one seemed to mind that she was there.

Most of the evening was them talking and eating, and then Sierra settled down on the ground, "We should do our homework now."

Peggy had a disgusted look on her face at the though, "Says who? Homework's just a waste of time. Just another way for the Man to keep us down! To force us into normal societal roles of submissive elementary kids."

"Societal what...? And who's the Man? You mean the Watcher?"

"No! THE MAN. Ugh...you're to young to understand. Point is, homework really is a waste of our personal time. They give us so much to do and we're supposed to finish it in one night! Let's do something else."

Sierra looked at her notebook for a minute and nodded, not sure who the 'Man' was, but convinced nonetheless, "You're right. Maybe if we stop doing it, stop assigning it all. Let's play tag!"

The two of them chased each other around the courtyard for a while before Sierra finally caught Peggy and the two of them fell over each other in a fit of giggles. After brushing themselves off, Sierra spoke again.

"You know, I really hate our Math teacher. She's so mean! Just because I can't do my multiplication sheets fast, she gives me 0s. And Mrs. Klawoski, our English teacher? She's even worse!"

Peggy nodded in agreement, "And the field trips are boring too. Remember the movie we went to? I mean, who wants to see Yoya the Dragon's Mystical Adventure?! Just because we're kids, we don't have to watch baby movies. I wanted to see Death Mountain."

"Tell me about it!"

Over near the table, Rufus and Paolo were watching the two interact. Rufus turned to his nephew and asked who the little girl was that was protesting the school system so loudly, "That's Peggy...uhh....Peggy Taylor-Modena, I think. Her older sister Josephine and I are attracted to each other. I was thinking of asking her to prom but---"

Rufus cut him short, "Taylor-Modena? As it Giacomo's daughter?"

"Yeah. What about it?"

Isabelle is not going to like this...

Peggy went home, Sierra went to bed with her homework undone. It was left abandoned on the ground when the girls jogged off to play tag, and was noticed by Regina when she got home from fixing the boiler at school. The night drifted by quietly, one by one everyone went to bed, and then early the next morning, Regina began to crawl out of her bed.

"Sierra, you up?"

"Fshhambvlumnuf...." Came a sleepy mumble before she rolled onto her back, eyes still closed, "Sort of, yeah."

Regina smiled a little, "Wake up, girlie, we need to talk."

Sierra reluctantly rolled out of the bed and stood in front of her sister. Regina sat upright in the bed and leaned forward, looking right into the brown eyes of her little sister, "Listen, sis...There's something off about Peggy. I don't know. I just don't like her. I feel like if you keep hanging out with her---!"

"Don't tell me who to hang out with!" Sierra snapped loudly, "Peggy's my best friend. How would you like it if I told you not to hang out with YOUR best friend?"

Regina had to bite back her desire to yell at her. Sierra was her baby sister, she was naive and impressionable, "Well, you'd be out of luck then because you are my best friend. I'm not telling you who to hang out with, CiCi, I'm just saying...be careful around her. She's got a very strong opinion about things and I don't want her to make you into something you're not. You're young and figuring things out, but I don't want you to get a wrong idea of how the world works."

"I'll be fine, Gigi. Peggy's just different, but I know right from wrong."

The next few days (3 to be exact) all consisted of similar conversations: Regina attempting to talk sense into her little sister. But Sierra was growing more and more rebellious with every passing day, sleeping in class and calling out teachers for being servants of 'The Man'. She skipped her homework, or was to tired to do it and left it alone while she slept. The only time Sierra ever finished an assignment was when Regina sat at the table with her and watched her. She was becoming more of a babysitter than an older sister. Soon it was Sierra and Paolo's (and according to Story Progression, Peggy) birthdays.

(*The picture of Paolo's makeover got deleted somehow...)

Sierra aged up, no surprise, with the Rebellious trait. The party brought with it a call out from a now teenage Sierra to her older sister.

"Regina, I've had it with you! You've spent so much time trying to dictate what my choices should be! I'm my own Sim, I can take care of myself and I can chose my own friends. I don't need big sister Gigi breathing down my back! I get enough oppression at school, I don't need it at home!"

Regina groaned and shouted back, "Do you hear yourself? You don't even sound like you anymore. 'Opression', I remember when you didn't even know what that word meant!"

"Listen, CiCi...at the end of the day, only you can make your own choices. You decide what you're going to do, who you're going to hang out with and how you'll let those people influence you. I can't make those choices for you, but I can try to sway you. That's all I was doing. All I want is for the two of us to go to Dragon Valley and start our band and live in peace away from rebels like Peggy and...evil sims like Grandma Izzy and Grandpa Walter."

Sierra's angry expression fell, "Evil...?"

"Yes, evil. Ever since you were a kid, CiCi, you've never really liked Grandma have you? You always said 'She's wierd.' but you didnt' know what it was or why...she's evil. She's hurt people, she uses people and I want to keep her away from us. But I can't do that if you don't listen to me. You can be friends with Peggy, just please don't let her get into your head. If you start thinking to much like that, you're going to end up just like Grandma!"

"I'm sorry, Gigi..." Sierra said in a small voice adn hugged her sister so tight she might've broken her in half, "I forgot. Our band! Dragon Gals, I forgot. I trust you, okay? Peggy is still my friend, but you're my best friend. I'll be careful. And we'll get to Dragon Valley whether mom and dad pick one of us as heir or not." Except I'm not going to Dragon Valley...

Elswhere in the city, Edwin and Cipriana were celebrating, hand in hand on the beach. As luck would have it, Sierra's birthday was also their wedding anniversary. And so they left the hustle and bustle of their daughter's birthday and escaped like a couple of teens.

Cipriana giggled, "We came here when we were kids, remember? It was our first real date if I remember correctly."

"Yeah..." Edwin laughed nervously, "I tried to kiss you, but you rejected me the first time."

"Only because I wanted our kiss to be romantic. You lunged at me again like you did when you asked me to be your girlfriend. All those 'Heat of the Moment' kisses..."

"I didn't know any better!"

"I taught you."

Edwin sighed and looked up at the sky, "Sierra's a teenager now, Paolo's a young adult...I think our lifespans are a bit off, we should've had our adult birthdays by now."

"I'm sure Watcher will fix that." Cipriana linked their arms together, "Probably settings from an old save file---now come on. What did we come out here to talk about? More than just birthdays and first dates."

"Yeah. The heir...it's funny, I feel like I didn't do a whole lot while I was 'reigning' heir. I still don't understand much what it's all about..."

"You gave SimNation three beautiful children and made more inventions than Watcher your mom can think to do with. The quiet heir...silently working in the background. But we've got three very vocal kids, so let's get down to it."

Edwin let out a breath, "Paolo's a Young Adult now, so he's got himself all figured out. Insane, Dramatic, Heavy Sleeper, Grumpy, & Socially Awkward. He's an odd bird...a really odd bird. But he told me that he wants to be a Master Acrobat, and to do that he needs to go to Starlight Shores. I'm not sure what it is about Paolo, but he always sort of just lingers in the background talking to himself and saying 'Soon Soon' to his sisters. I think for everyone's safety he shouldn't have any reign in the family. That's not to say I don't love my son...he's just off."

"Way to be subtle, Edwin. He's clearly not your favorite."

"Here me out!" Edwin continued, "He's off, but he's also got a good sense of family and commitment. He loves his siblings, he loves my mom and dad, he loves you. I honestly think he'll be a great father in between gigs in town, and if nothing else he'll be great entertainment to children."

Cipriana smiled a bit at the thought of her eldest daughter, "Let's see. Regina's still got some things to figure out. Virtuoso, Good, Family-Oriented, & Light Sleeper, and who knows what she'll end up with when she gets older. Sweet, caring, and care-free Regina. Regina who also refuses to wear shoes. If I had to put a word to describe Regina, I'd probably say 'Hippie'. It's not just her attire, but her overall attitude. If she's not feeling overly obligated to take care of Sierra, she's very relaxed and just appreciates the world around her. She's very mild-mannered. Though...she seems to have something against your mom. And I overheard her saying something about keeping Sierra away from her? I don't know....sounds posessive. Almost obsessive to me. She told me she wants to be a Hit Movie Composer and is going to move to Dragon Valley to start a band with Sierra, though I'm not sure how she can do that and have a band and a family."

"And now my little girl." Edwin said with a sigh, rubbing his eyes, "I can't even imagine her any older. Rebellious, Artisitc, Virtuoso, and Friendly. She's apparently going against what Regina wants and says she wants to go to Bridgeport to become a Rockstar. Apparently Dragon Valley looks to much like Monte Vista?"

Cipriana shrugged, "Never been. Maybe the colors, I don't know. I think she wants to get out of the country. And I don't blame her. Monte Vista is very boring."

"Hmm. Here's the thing about Sierra...she's so independent and so strong willed, and she's been that way even without suddenly becoming rebellious. She has an ability to see people for what they really are make up her own mind about things, and once she's there she's not swaying from it. She dislikes my mother, and I feel like she can see right into her mind. She knows what's going on in there. And while I don't think there's anything to stop, if anyone's going to figure out how to work around Isabelle, it'll be Sierra. She has something Regina doesn't have...perseverance. Regina can fold, Sierra wont."

The parents sat and thought for a long while on each of their children.

"So it's settled then?"

Cipriana nodded, "Yes. I think it is."
