If you name your car and than change your trait by midlifecrisising into something else, will the name of the car still remain?

My Dynasty founder doesn't have the vehicle enthusiast trait and never has had it.  That doesn't stop him from having a Best Friends Forever relationship with his car.  He has the option to name it, but I haven't bothered.  So if he can do all this without that trait, I wouldn't think dropping the trait in a midlife crisis would make any difference.

My game definitely has a major glitch.  I have not been able to name my vehicles in any of my previously saved games.  I started a new game from scratch last night and still can't name my vehicle (the Sloppy Jalopy) even though my sim has the new trait.  I played a full sim week and my sim drove all over Twinbrook including back and forth from work.  No relationship with the car yet either.   :'(
So much for having the new EP and being fully patched.  My only option is that I may have to uninstall and reinstall everything.  Not sure if this would be worth it just for naming my vehicle and having the new relationship.  Going to have to think on this -  :-\

I didn't change traits since installing FL, but I just noticed at least one of my da Vinci Challenge couple has an acquaintance level relationship with his Beast motorcycle. Instead of this strangeness, couldn't we have gotten something else? A fix for those two new Lifetime Wishes that came with Ambitions (and that they used in their trailer as a selling point in the case of the P.I. one) maybe?

I'm definitely with you on this, NeoFelis.  Best Friends with my car?  Naming my car?  Yawn.  Now, if they'd fix the many bugs in the game, that would make me happy.

TommieT succeeded into having a relationship with his car. Ask him if he did anything difficult and time consuming with reinstalling before you try it.
If you do, don't forget to back up your game.

Thanks for the advice Leto.  I have decided that it is not worth my time or effort to reinstall.  I can just live without that trait for now.    :-X

I just suddenly had a bizarre thought. What if you have that trait it gives you someone (well, something) to talk to and raises your social bar? I'm trying to think of something this odd trait would do that's worth something. I'm not going to strain my brain over it, though.  ;)

Sounds interesting. I will follow this topic from now on.

Or maybe it raises your social bar just by riding in/on the vehicle? I haven't been paying attention, but since Baxter (who's now Best Friends with his Beast) rides the motorcycle at least once a day to the Consignment store, I will try to see if it does anything for his social bar when I load up the game tomorrow/Saturday.

I see the scooter is only given a speed rating of two, which is the same as the bicycles. Maybe I'm being overly picky, but they seem faster that that. Well, the Kenspa's do. I wonder why they didn't give them a speed rating of three?

Hey, Leto, you need to upload your Avatar again. The server thing seems to be running on some sort of delay; mine didn't need to be reloaded until several days after and others are taking even longer to disappear. The ways of servers be beyond my ken.

Yeah I know Neo, but it is to much work for me now to find that thing on my other computer. All my pics and vids are put in the year, month and day they where shoot, but I don't know exactly when I've made this one.
Anyway, the red X represents me until I got the time to do a research for it.

By the way, what does that word 'picky' actually mean? I've seen it for the second time now and in a bit different context so I didn't find it out myself thinking logically.

Picky refers to someone who is causing unnecessary trouble when making a decision.

Woman: Should I wear the red dress or the blue dress?
Man: They both look good, either is fine.
Woman: Well the red dress is hard to walk in.
Man: OK then wear the blue dress.
Woman: But the blue dress is too short!
Man: Then don't wear either of them?
Woman: But I HAVE to wear red or blue!  Which one should I wear??
Man: They both look good, you're being picky.

Okay. I can understand that easily enough.

I would add to TommyT's answer that it means to be: overly selective, particularly over small details. Though those who know me well would say I was a picky eater, which I consider a rather large detail!   :D  A synonym for 'picky' is 'choosy' if that helps. I fear that this is one of the many cases in English where giving a synonym is less, rather than more, helpful. This is a better example of a synonym, I think: 'meticulous.'

Leto - Add to those above uses of the adjective picky as being hard to please - 'having inflexible likes and dislikes and, therefore, being hard to please or satisfy' is the definition in the Encarta Dictionary for North American English.   So someone who is picky only likes specific things and is not easily pleased, such as a picky eater as NeoFelis says she is.
I am not a picky eater - I eat everything placed in front of me as long as it doesn't eat me first - lol!

Oke, thanks for the explanation guys! Three answers, and both three are filling each other up, if I said that correctly. Though yours is pretty funny TommieT, with the woman-choosing-dress-example, the others are helpfull to. :P
