As for what I allowed, I didn't allow a book, but I did allow the purchase of produce. Also, I found the tent using the buydebug cheat, and it's about 220 simoleans.

I got bit too.  Good luck with your game.  Hope it plays out well.  I've played another homesless scenario which is not official but the rules are posted here in the forum.  Just search 'homeless challenge'.  I lived in Twinbrook for that one.  He lived near the garden and pool as there were facilites and park benches there.  Also you're allowed a park bench on your lot but it just got stolen in the initiation robbery, so don't bother with that.  It was fun.  But he wasn't cut off from the world.

Yeah, mine had her tent stolen within the first couple of days.
