I fear my Sims addiction is flagging since Late Night came out. I think it should have been named Sims Behaving Badly, or Sims Gone Wild. For a game marketed to young teens and tweens, I find it pretty disturbing.

Let me first say that I'm no prude; you'll have to take my word on that. What concerns me is the glamorization of the narcissistic, extreme club scene and ultra-casual "hook-up" culture, to the degree that one of the opportunities is to have woohoo in a certain number of public locations. Sure, the girly clothes are fun, but they make Metro's "hotpants" look like granny pants, and the S&M styling seems a bit much for kids.

Gawd, I sound like an old lady, something I've never been accused of before. Actually I'm coming more from a feminist position, or viewpoint of an observer of society and the directions teens are pulled in, ever younger and younger.

I won't go on and on, and I suspect this kind of conversation breaks a rule somewhere, but if anyone else feels just a tad disturbed by Late Night, feel free to PM me.

Hi my name is Jack (not really, but it's more exciting than my real name) and I am a Sims addict.

Have played the game since the Sims2 and have been an addict ever since. I find the Sims an enjoyable game for many reasons, my boyfriend however thinks it satisfies my desire to play god ha ha. I often think I am too addicted, as when thinking about things I need to do, like washing clothes, I imagine myself right clicking the washing machine. Yeah, I am a true addict.
Nice to find some like minded people.
I am currently experiencing great envy at all you guys with LN, as amazon yet again didn't deliver on day of release as promised. But I am not bitter...going a little cold turkey on my Sims playing at the moment as it seems pointless to start again from scratch before I get it.

Hey, now. This can be interpreted as if I wear hotpants. I'm still on the fence.

Agreed with Esther don't feel selfish. I myself have been whining about it to my friends all week, hopefully getting it tomorrow actually...

I'm still trying to figure out what Metro meant with that. I guess wearing hotpants while sitting on a fence must be pretty uncomfortable. Either that, or the fence snagged his hotpants and he's still there because he's stuck. One never knows with him.  ;D

Move along. Nothing to see here.

Adj.   1.   on the fence on the fence - characterized by indecision; "some who had been on the fence came out in favor of the plan"; "too many voters still declare they are undecided"
undecided
indecisive - characterized by lack of decision and firmness; "an indecisive manager brought the enterprise to a standstill"
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/on+the+fence

On the fence is undecided! So either Metro is undecided on whether or not he is going to wear hotpants or undecided on whether or not he will be admitting to it. I would guess undecided on admitting it.  :P
If it was meant in another way it passed over my head as well.

Edited to add the link for the definition. Sorry, I forgot that.

I seriously can't picture Metro in hotpants! I don't know what 99% of people on here look like in RL, but try as I might, I just can not picture Metro in them!  ;D ;D

Hello everyone. My name is Platnum and its been and hour since I played the Sims. And that is because I had to pickup my daughter from daycare.

I would like to share with the group tonight. I refused to let my son play Sims on the laptop. I have TS3 on my cell phone so I let him play. However, I'm sure I don't have to tell you that is it very limited compared to the PC game. So he asked me if he could do a family on the computer. He is only eight so I was able to use the excuse that it is much more graphic than the cell phone version and it is rated T for teen. But I know what you guys are thinking and you are right. I didn't want to give up my game on the computer.

So...Tell me Sims Anonymous, am I a mean mommy? Do I need to seek some professional help?

Not at all! My niece is almost 3 and she asks me all the time to play and I tell her no! She just likes the pic on the screen and loves being on the computer but I do it cause I need it lol.

You don't see like a hotpants guy to me, actually.;D Actually, though, I was a bit shocked at a wish my sim got after I tried 'Try for Baby in Elevator'(Since my game aparently dosen't like sims woohooing on the bed, if I don't control them both.) She got a wish to 'Woohoo in 5 places', and I swore my eyes bugged out of my head. Some of the clothing is pretty risque too, but I think that's because I'm a bit prude when it comes to clothes. Oh...One last thing I noticed...Some of my female NPC sims in one of my games...Well, let's just say they abused that new slider bar. And they like the new gothic style tops. It's not too pretty a combination, in my opinion.

Hello my name is Kyla and I am addicted to the Sims 3.

I'm not sure exactly how it started, but I do know that the first Sims game I ever played was on the PS2 at one of my friend's house. I think it's safe to say that I can blame my addiction on her. Just kidding. I started playing the original Sims for the PC sometime in middle school I think. Then Sims 2 came out and I played that (all expansion packs included) and last year when the Sims 3 came out, I literally went insane and my dad got it for Christmas for me! :D Love you Daddy! Then I got World Adventures and Ambitions and now Sims is all I think about. Well I still think about applying to college and stuff but still. The Sims 3 rules.

Hi, My name is AriaGirl, and I'm a Sims Addict.  Somtimes... when it's really bad... I avoid doing things like laundry, and dishes, things I know I NEED to do to keep myself clean and healthy... and I ignore the fact that those things need to be done just so I can... can... update my Dynasty/Legacy threads.  *SIGH*  I'm so ashamed!!!

Lately, I've been so absorbed with my "real life" that I can't play at all, and the closest I get to getting my Sims Fix is coming here and posting on the forum.  And horror of horrors... I still haven't bought the latest expansion!  I am jones'n real bad, let me tell ya!  To top it all off, my mother-in-law is visiting, and so there's no hope of getting my fix until Nov. 10th!!  GAH!!!  How will I survive?!?!

There have been plenty of times when I would go days straight Simming. Today is Saturday and I have been on since Thursday evening back and forth between game and forum. I didn't even take my daughter to daycare yesterday. So this will be one of those times. Don't be ashamed, I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say we are family. I'm sure someone was laid up in PJ's for days at a time Simming. Even if they don't want to share.

As for mommy-in-law... Too bad there's no Cowplant in real life huh?  ::) (Ooh that was very naughty. Bad girl!)

For the last two weeks on my days off, I have had to do get dressed to do something, "sigh".  I am not ashamed at all, I do not get dressed some days and play most of the time I am off or I fall asleep on the computer, lol.  I just run in and put laundry in and run back to computer and go back and forth until I am done and settle in for the long haul.  There, I admitted it.  Isn't admitting it all about an addiction, haha.  Happy simming! ;D

Hello my fellow Sims addicts!  I'm Mtglady aka Debi and I could shout it out that I am addicted to the Sims, especially the Sims 3.  I even corrupted my grandchildren into playing with me *I am so, so bad*.   But they know exactly what to buy me for my birthday and other occasions - Sims Point cards!
I started playing computer games about 30 years ago but didn't really get hooked until Sims 2 came out.  I played Sims 1 but could take it or leave it.  Then Sims 2 captivated me.  I had to have all of the EP's/SP's and even used some of my hidden talents to create more objects and unique clothes for them to wear.
Sims 3 came out when I sort of 'retired' so most days I wake up to the Sims and say goodnight to them too  ;D.  I like to read threads on this forum and find I participate more here than any other forum I am a member of.  I think it is because everyone is as seriously addicted as I am - ;)!  I am also like Saltypaws as far as laundry and housework is concerned - do a little work then back to the sims, do a little work then back to the sims etc., etc., etc.!
And PlatnumDymnd, I am not afraid to admit that PJ's are my choice when I am playing too ;)

PJ's! Ha I don't change out of them unless I am leaving the house. I love the days when I can just lounge in my PJ's all day long. Unfortunately that is not to often for me anymore as I have to leave the house every weekday to take and pick up the kids from school! Blah! But I do often change right back into them when I get back unless I have plans to leave again later that day!

Yaay! Thanks for sharing fellow PJ players. Day two of my pajama weekend is coming to a close.

It has been 20 minutes since I played my Sims game. I am mad at my laptop for crashing my game. I was creating my Sim for the Dynasty challenge, and man did she (I) look good. I go to save her to the Sim bin and the game was just stuck like that. So I had to force close it. I guess leaving it open for five days straight can take a toll. Then I went to check on replies on the forum and here I am. I was able to share her on the official site before the laptop betrayed me.  >:( So hopefully I can upload her and update my signature and avatar here.

@Mtglady I am so jealous that you are retired and get to have all day Sims at your will. There's something for me to look forward to when my two crumb snatchers are grownup and gone.

Yes, it really does take its toll.  You need to shut down both the game and your computer daily.  Sometimes you need to restart Sims 3 more often if you start having a lot of problems with crashing because restarting the game resets the memory stuff and it runs better.
