Creating basement stairs for houses on foundations

Hello, all.  I have had this question for some time and am just getting around to asking.

I would like to know how would you create basement stairs for houses that are built with foundations.  I am able to create the basement, but when I try to place stairs, I am not allowed.  would I somehow need to create 2 staircases?  Just not sure how to solve this.  Please advise.  Thanks.

Yes, you do need to create two sets of stairs, skipsmooth.  One set set of stairs (about 3 steps) goes from the foundation to the original level and then the normal set of stairs from the original level down to the basement.  There is an excellent tutorial by Twinmum on this very issue in this forum.  Look for Tutorial: Basements Under Foundations.  I can't remember how to use links but the tutorial is in this section so you will find it easily.
