OK, I finally got 4 Sims in my band. I think I had a glitch and could not make the band option appear for one of the Sims.

Now the hard part is getting gigs! How can I get gigs for my band? It has been weeks and I am unable to get any gigs!

Please help! I really don't want to start all over again!

Grouping is an easy way to see who is with you - plus, the Grouped Sims will follow the Sim who grouped them (within reason).

OK, I am still not getting any gigs! What is the cause of this? Is this a bug? I really don't want to start all over again!

Is there any solution to this glitch?

How many of the 4 Band members you have are actually registered at the government building as a self-employed Band?

How do you register another member at the government building? By the way, I now have 2 band members after kicking out 2 others.

 ???

Well, you'd need to have control of the band members — i.e. they need to be household members. Then, you'd just switch active Sims and send them to the building

Oh, I see. So is this necessary?

Well, the more band members that are registered as self-employed, the more chance they'll receive gig opportunities.

OK, I will just try it. But I remember that in one of my earlier games on Late Night, I did not even have to register myself as self employed and my band has only 2 members. I did get a couple of gigs for that game though.

So I find it strange that for this game, I am having a very hard time getting gigs. I really do not know what is wrong. I hope that EA would fix this soon.

Now, that I think about it I guess I'll retract my earlier recommendation — I mean having others register can't hurt of course. But, the forming of a band with the 2nd member and adding to the band with more members should fire the phone calls just by having a band. The whole self-employed Band deal is simply a tool for you to track income and gain more happiness points by fulfilling those band wishes. But, I still think that having multiple band members under your control makes sense because then you'll automatically know if one gets a phone call for a gig.

Metro, haven't you written a guide about how to work in a band? I remember you did, unless I really had mistaken you with somebody else. Maybe you can link to it from here (I failed finding it).

OK, I started a whole new game with a new town Appaloosa Plains with Pets installed. I formed a band with just 2 members, without registering in any government building as self employed and started getting gigs. The problem is, in the 2nd gig which I got, my fellow band member was not free, so the gig was forfeited. Is this a common problem in the game? I have all the patches installed.

Thanks.

Hey Blanchflower! Nice to see you again.
What do you mean with 'the gig was forfeited?' I don't understand how a band member can be free or not.

Sometimes band members don't show up. I had this happen a few times and got frustrated with Townie band members, so if I want to play a band, I have only household members.
