Kicking Careers into High Gear

Goal
Who wants a job? Many Sims in Willow Creek and surrounding areas do, and your Sim is the one who's going to make sure they get it, and get those dream promotions, too.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • The Jungle Adventure Game Pack is banned for this event.
  • Create one human or alien Young Adult Sim.
  • You are allowed to use the Buydebug cheat to purchase a satellite to prevent abductions. The satellite moves with you if you choose to move.
  • Adding to the household is player choice, but no one can move out and you're capped at 8 total Sims over the course of the challenge. Example: you immediately bring in 7 Sims after starting -- no additional Sims can be brought in. But, if you start by bringing in 5 Sims, then you would be able to bring in 2 more if you wish.
  • All jobs scored must be unique. Each branch of a given career is considered a unique career. So, Sim 1 could max the Chef branch of the Culinary Career and Sim 2 could max the Mixology branch, but not the Chef branch since Sim A already had.
  • Sims must be moved in with the "Ask to move in" social. No adoptions.
  • This challenge ends when your starting Sim turns Elder.

Scoring

1 - 8 Each number represents a household member, then use the points below to score each household member depending on how far they got in their careers (only levels 5 and above get scored). Use Lena's spreadsheet to calculate your score, but you also need to explain your score as noted in the example. No need to detail what careers were chosen.

Level 5 -- 1 pt
Level 6 -- 2 pts
Level 7 -- 3 pts
Level 8 -- 4 pts
Level 9 -- 6 pts
Level 10 -- 8 pts
Level 11 -- 10 pts (only applies to Secret Agent)

Example:

Sim 1 -- lvl 10 & lvl 5 (9 pts)
Sim 2 -- lvl 6 (2 pts)
Sim 3 -- lvl 7 (3 pts)
Sim 4 -- lvl 8 (4 pts)
Sim 5 -- lvl 5 & lvl 9 (7 pts)
Sim 6 -- lvl 7 (3 pts)
Sim 7 -- lvl 7 (3 pts)
Sim 8 -- lvl 8 (4 pts)

Total -- 35 pts

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, LenaLJ, sdhoey, and MarianT) for clarifications. Thanks.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, but the winner especially is expected to do so in detail.

Argghhhh I hate playing with large households. I thought the toddler one had used all my patience, this might take me to a whole new level!

If a sim dies can you still count their points?

Definitely. Whatever career level they attained up to that time you can count.

Sorry if this is a dumb question... but how do you "bring in" sims? Through CAS, or adding townies in manage households or...?

You use the "Ask to move in" social.

Two clarifications:

Sims should be moved in with the "Ask to move in" social, not through Manage Households.

Also "all maxed jobs should be unique" was changed to "all jobs scored" should be unique.

Can we choose from all the careers we have available, or only base game?

Create one Young Adult Sim.

Do they have to be a human Sim or can they be of any life state? Also, do Sims we move in have to be Human Sims as well?

If you bring in 7 and one has an accident while upgrading the television or meets an end in some other fashion, can they be replaced?
