I'm picturing that pre-work massage and laughing appropriately.

Rosalind's daughter with Gavin immediately lost The Mouth, so it can't be a programming bug, but it really is a strong trait. It's not just in this house, Alexis has passed it on too through multiple generations. I could definitely make a gorgeous mash-up of Wayne and Aili, if we picked the best of both. When that day comes, I'm going to hope that the mother, as per usual, contributes the mouth shape. Then we'll be okay. I'm also thinking that with a magical bloodline coming soon... wouldn't it be great if Wayne and Aili can pass on that trait, whatever it is.

I know Wayne's a tad awful, but this is his Beloved: Red Goth 2.

I'm assuming that Red Goth 2 is Yesenia's teen daughter Aili? She's stunning!
Love how you pass on Bella's red dress!

Yes, that's Aili. There's CAS portraits upcoming of both of them, and it's interesting to see what she looks like when she scrapes the makeup off. Goth women. Eyeroll.

I'll wait a bit before another big post to give people time to catch up. Much has happened. Another global superstar, toothpaste blue furniture in the lounge, the dog, science projects, death of a Stan.

Having revealed Aili above, this begins with a short flashback to her as a child approaching the Cake of Wisdom (TM). No, I'll remove the trademark and you can use that too.

An iconic, deep, profound picture of Wayne leaving as a teen as Aili arrives. I didn't get a good picture of her sparkling as she aged, up, partly because I was... surprised... by her wardrobe choices.

I didn't want to take them to CAS for a makeover right away -- scratch that, I really did because they're both Awful -- but other sims were down their rabbit holes and I didn't want to bring them home prematurely. So Wayne and Miss Goth had to survive until the evening, and raise Fun so they'd enjoy drama club better. She's got a nice nose. From how she aged, up, I wasn't really sure what she'd look like in Goth uniform. But hey, Sims taught this man makeup, and she's just the best. There's a lot of eye shadow and eyeliner that really doesn't help with the shape of her face. (Did I ever think I'd write such a sentence? Hmm.)

She did have black hair, which she lightened by a shade. You're not imagining that. The black hair loses some nuance and definition, especially for sims with long hair. The dark brown looks better.

That's the same Miss Aili Goth in her athletic outfit, hair back, no makeup. There's a lot of Enele in her. And she has no eyelashes, poor girl.

Wayne, on the other hand...

...I think his Father Winter father was a pear. He's terrible. Skinny little arms. Mouth like a vacuum cleaner. Roland Ramsey's blue-eye blondeness continues to a 3rd generation, and that's okay, it's just everything else.

His mother Kait's fame has got to her, and she looks a bit different too.

I really like Kait's new look.

So, I said I'd not put a carpet down here... and now I've done just that. This room defeats me. The shape of it, the 5 doors in difficult places. I've never quite been happy with it. Playing the piano is a club activity, and that's why Wayne has promptly situated himself there. Everyone ends up being pretty good at it, and you often hear some sim bashing out Scott Joplin. (It is, right?) It's impossible to not be in good Humour when that plays.

I... kinda love that shocking blue. Embrace colour. Quite so.

Yesenia poses like she's in an oil painting of Duchess Brindleton and her fav hound. Because she surely ain't going jogging in those heels.

(She is, but this is the Sims.)

She got that as a quick, easy change for when Aili embraced the Red Goth look. I've since changed Yesenia's look quite a lot, and back to red. But not the classic Bella dress, obviously.

The entrance hall is one of my favourite bits. This room is a success. And I like Enele's pinstripe suit. I'd go for a different tie myself, but y'know. He's got quite a severe chin on him, but I do approve of his nose.

Some pictures of the brave, bold, blue furniture.

On the plus side, the room is big enough to play fetch with Maxie. That's never been a problem. The goal is to replace that TV with one Kait will unlock racing through the Tech Guru career.

So on the first day of high school, both kids got the rocket project to work on at home. Wayne did his first, with help from one of the adults, and Aili too for a little bit, and it was only "good". Other projects seem to be so much easier to make "excellent", and I really like the two-stage rocket with all the boosters. I'm always disappointed when it doesn't turn out like that.

Aili then, through the dead of night, did her rocket project without any assistance. Just to show up Wayne.

And naturally, she made an excellent one. By herself.

Oh! Yes! Traits. She's foodie + bookworm. Quite happy with that. I nervously used the random trait button. Wayne is harder to fathom. He's outgoing + unflirty. Shouldn't that be a conflict? Bookworm definitely gave Aili a slight skilling edge as a child. Anywho, she's nicer to look at, and less psychologically mixed up than her Beloved.

To end this post, an overhead of the house from the back. The palms have grown again, and the bench has been swapped for an arch. Yes, it's a wedding arch, and will eventually be used as one -- let's face it, this is the best wedding venue in the save -- but I also really like it for... being an arch. It's a good focal point. You look wistfully through it to the island of dead pets. Or not. Just look at the lighthouse then. Up to you. But you have to look through the arch.

Please, no! Pears must not be allowed to perpetuate. Just use cas.fulleditmode!
By the way, did Wayne get the Father Winter's Child trait? And what, exactly, does that trait even do?
Wayne has quite a nice profile! Is he that handsome boy sitting next to Aili, dressed in a light-blue shirt, grey vest, and a matching Sammy Davis Jr. cap?
That boy is very cute!

Also, the black glass frames and unplucked eyebrows--that's a fantastic look for Aili! She looks great! Even without lipstick, the shape of her lips is perfection!
I, too, am a fan of turquoise!!!
Took me a while, but I finally located the wedding arch in your screenshot! Is that the one with the turquoise ribbons?

Well, yes, that's him but he still has skinny arms and inhuman mouth. And it's a little awkward that the best thing about him is his drama club outfit that he chooses himself. ;p I'll have to give him a vest and cap for one of his outfits. In that drama club outfit picture, one of both of them might still have a bit of a tan because both are going to be unstressed via the Beach Life aspiration. About that aspiration. Yes, I know teens can't make or drink kava, but they can still get gold on the party for the aspiration if there's an adult involved.

If I change his body shape, then I might as well change his Persephone mouth, and I feel that in this save such changes have to be off limits. So he is what he is. I want them to have a girl anyway -- so she can have a Father Winter Baby -- and girls tend to get their curves or lack of them from their mother. Aili still has Bella's figure, and all the girls in the house to this point, without exception, got Persephone's pot belly shape. So I'm not worried about Wayne's shape perpetuating. Red Goth 3 will still be classic Goth shape.

The Father Winter's Baby trait would be quite useful in the 10 gen dynasty, because of the 10k satisfaction points requirement. The trait gives a 50% boost to points from whims (not aspiration milestones though). That 100 point whim is now 150. The 25 point whim is 37, and so on. So sims with the trait rack up satisfaction super fast, and ultimately will be more stacked with more traits. But also means you'll reach the points for the trait you want sooner.

I quite like giving sim girls real eyebrows. I think it helps Aili a lot in particular, not having much in the way of eyelashes. She had glasses as a child, and we're not throwing them away now. I see she doesn't wear them with her drama club outfit.

Grief, I dunno. It's the nice arch? Yes, absolutely.

I appreciate (and now agree with) your reason for not CAS-editing Wayne's pear shape. Huh, I never knew that about the dominance of the mother's body shape in their daughters.
Useful tip about the Kava Party. All I've done so far in Sulani is a few odd jobs, haha. I'm unversed, so to speak.

Now you've got me thinking...it would be devilishly hard to get an heir or Founder with the Father Winter's Child trait.
For one, doesn't Father Winter lose his job once he's moved into a household? When I did that in my legacy, he was replaced by a new Father Winter.
Can he still pass on the trait while "unemployed"?
So our founder/heir would need to get preggers and give birth out of wedlock...hmmmm, hmmmmm. *checks rules to see if the spouse must be moved in for "firstborn" to count
Haha, it's a little too complicated for me and I've already asked the Challenge Team too many questions, hehe!
For the P10 (Power of 10), earning that initial $10k goes quickly.

Weird about the eyelashes. Now I need to check if the devs deprived all the single-lidded eyes of eyelashes. That would be subtle racism!
Now you've got me looking forward to Red Goth Girl 3---are Wayne and Aili still teens in your game? Lol!

Yes, they're still teens. We hope they make it to adulthood, there was a mild problem with dying of laughter. Warm laundry. 6 sims, you lose track of one, and he or she dies. -Not Aili or Wayne, they're fine, but I had a side project in mind that can't be done now. The comedy / hysteria mechanic is... I dunno. Maybe it's good game design because otherwise nothing untoward would ever happen.

With aging on, Father Winters do get replaced, but never seem to die of old age. Or that was the case in my Get Famous house. And only the current one passes the trait on. I once had a child with a former Father Winter without realizing another one had been generated, and no trait. So no, he can't pass it on when he doesn't hold the Office. I've never moved him in, and I'll have to try that once, but the game is going to instantly generate another Father Winter.

I've got ideas about where I'd start a P10, and what type of house I go for, and I've been looking at various builds for ideas. But running two time intensive saves here, I dunno. I want to get to Wayne and Aili's child here, that's always been a goal.

EDIT to add: [The child of] Red Goth 3 will have Sulani Mana + Father Winter's Baby. If that's the end point of this save (or it goes on hiatus) and I start something new, that's also fine.

I agree that concurrently playing two multi-generation games would be time-consuming as well as tricky (due to different gameplay settings and restrictions).
My vote would be to play until Red Goth 3 has both the desired traits, at which point you put a hold on this save and start your (finite) Power of 10 Dynasty.

Confession: I'm completely confused how Red Goth 3 could have both traits.
If Red Goth 3 will be the daughter of Red Goth 2 and Wayne (hence the Father Winter's Child trait), how can Red Goth 3  get the Sulani Mana trait?
Does Red Goth 2 already have the trait? (Did Yesenia dally with an elemental?)
Or do you mean that Red Goth 3 won't have the trait herself but will woohoo an element for an offspring with Sulani Mana?
Dazed and confused...my apologies in advance for my denseness.

Enele is an Elemental. Aili, his daughter, has Sulani Mana. She's a demigoddess or something (there are picture here of her using her powers as a child), and the trait seems to be straightforward genetic inheritance.

So she'll pass it on to her child. Wayne is obviously not Father Winter, but from here on, we've got Sulani Mana in the bloodline of the original family. So Red Goth 3, a girl, will be able to have a child (Red Goth 4) with both traits. And maybe I can add in some Magical Bloodline as well.

Red Goth 3, Aili + Wayne's future daughter, will not have both. Only Sulani Mana. Well spotted. That was a mistake. :)

Oh right, I remember those elemental screenshots now! Sorry for my poor memory!
Ahhh, see, my mind has been overwhelmed with all the new Sims 4 content/packs and I'd thought that Wayne's mother might have dallied with Father Winter in the past.
I distinctly recall, however, a lady in that household carrying on with Father Winter.

As much as I'd love to see what you would do with the Power of 10 Dynasty Challenge, I will cease nudging you.
You have already made careful and exciting plans for Red Goth 3 and even Red Goth 4, which extend to include the Magic Bloodline trait.
Now doesn't seem anywhere near the time to put this household on hold.
If, however, you feel the itch for a casual flirtation with a different household, going back to the old Rags to Riches root (um, 10 times).....

No, I'm NOT giving up! Maybe Red Goth 4 could be your founder? LOL!

I first want to know if the next generation, Red Goth 3, gets rid of the Mouth of Persephone. If she does, that's a good enough place to pause.

Aili and Wayne will age up to young adults soon, but I might delay having the next generation immediately. It depends on what I find out about Magical Bloodline. Maybe if Aili and Wayne learn magic, Red Goth 3 will get that bloodline trait?

For the sake of something more to look at, I do have these 5 pictures ready to go.

Yesenia joining the Military career. She now has the easy street perk from being a global superstar, so we're going to use it to unlock a few more things. Far less makeup now, far more relaxed.

The story here is that Kait got a Stan. He got to lounging in the pool on the blue whale, and I paid little to no attention to that until suddenly someone on the lot was dying and the Stan was floating, dead, in the water. Kait drank Quirk-be-gone immediately, but, too late for that guy. Still, you don't pass on a chance to sign autographs.

And Sawyer is an elder. Grey hair. She's retired from mixology, having not got us the Snaggle Fluster drink. She went to work at level 9 for many days and the chance card did not trigger.

Sims Eugenics II - Enele dies
« Reply #137 on: September 06, 2019, 04:30:24 PM »
First, a ground floor cutaway of the house. I'm not sure how interesting that is.

-----

Then Enele died of laughter.

It's warm laundry stacking with many happy moodlets. Laundry was piling up, and the maid was running out of space to put it -- look at the coffee table -- that I had, the previous day, decided to put away laundry that was still warm, just so we could get on to the next load. And there's a superfluity of mirrors for calming down. I expected this, to an extent, and felt prepared, and was particularly careful in managing Wayne and Aili. But I did notice some bugs in trying to get them to calm down, it wasn't reliably working. Enele's death... I just missed it. I didn't see he was in a hysterical mood, there's a lot of micro-managing other sims... and it took me by surprise. I was actually thinking nothing exciting was going to happen in the house for a while.

Yesenia crying over the body of her deceased soulmate. Fun fact, her sister Mackenzie died the same day -- popped up as a message.

Aili pleaded with Grim for her father, but no luck.

Two gravestones (the other is the Stan that drowned) of sims who didn't live their full lives. Maxie is sad. We are all sad. The drone can be seen in the pictures of the lounge because Aili was in the kitchen recording a home-style cooking video, and I think some of Enele's death was recorded too when she automatically rushed to the scene. Quite grim.

Sims Eugenics II - Joey's Weekend of Passion
« Reply #138 on: September 08, 2019, 05:48:23 AM »
Much story to add here so I can get back to the save. I mustn't get too far ahead.

You've missed Wayne*. I've heard your plea. I give you Wayne.

*probably not

The death of Enele is unscripted, but we roll with the punches here, and it had these effects:

1. prompted me to go on the hunt for the next pollinator
2. Sawyer, elder, eventually comes out of retirement and she joined the business career that Enele didn't finish. He was on the cusp of promotion to level 9.
3. Kait hit the bars and get fans to cheer for her. She wants unstoppable fame.

We weren't leaving without a new household member. That splendid man is Joey Parham. (In 1940's British newsreel narration voice) Let's wish him luck. Good luck Joey!

He immediately cloned a Slimify and got a makeover. He's got red hair, because it's interesting, a glamorous hairdo, and t-shirt from the Romance Festival, so the ladies know what they're getting into. Don't ask about his sleepwear, you know what it is.

The routine of the Night of Passion (which extended to a whole weekend of passion -- sorry Aili, I know you wanted to go to the beach to find seashells) is that Sawyer, the club leader, introduces herself, signs an autograph, then invites the Valued Member to the club, and starts a gathering at the Valued Member's lodgings. One of the more intimate interactions is a Club Activity, and Joey has a pink tent in his inventory ensuring the Club Objectives can be met in a timely manner on the front lawn, or other convenient location of his choosing. We're not wasting time having sims route to a bedroom at the top of this house, for example.

--Aili, Wayne, and Kait in their heatwave outfits. This is the Fyres house, and the only occupied house remaining in Windenburg.

Oh, right, because you don't do this at all with your sims?

The Weekend of Passion ended in Sulani, with visits to three houses. This included Lacey's daughter Portia, Valued Member, who is now a young adult. As far as possible we want to keep the various cadet branches of the family alive. This allowed Aili and Wayne to do their beach combing, so it wasn't all bad. Only think of the stories they'll have about Joey.

Back home, Maxie was ill, and with most sims out of the house it was left to Joey to play vet.

Sawyer's efforts at being famous had moved her to 3 stars, and from there it was a formality to donate some 15k violins and she was our 3rd global superstar. This was pursued so that she could (hopefully) still begin and complete the business career Enele (he totally died) didn't finish. The easy street perk is that good.

What nagged at me after the Weekend of Passion is the Whitman household. There are no female sims there. Katrina Whitman was a maid, back in generation 1, who had a string of odd children with Cornelius who built her a house. In Brindleton. The only living descendant is Kyle Whitman...

There a a few options here:

1. I swap to his house, and he adopts -- the heir will have his name, but will be biologically unrelated
2. A street rescue female is moved in to the big house, and falls pregnant with his child -- a good option, the child will be have some of his features, but you have to change the mother's name to Whitman
3. or...

R.I.P. Enele! I missed saying that in the previous update.
And I looked carefully (I thought) at his gravestone but couldn't tell. Do ex-elementals have a unique gravestone?

Gratz on moving in a new pollinator! And what a posh lab! And there's a separate vet clinic, too! My, oh my!
I might have giggled that massages take place in the rooftop room while Try for Baby happens, well, anywhere.

Who, Kyle Whitman? Did you mention gender customization? Do you think pregnancy would suit him? Or he could become...Kyla? lol

They're regular gravestones because they're regular sims with a fun trait, that's all. They're not a different lifestate or occult or anything.

But massages give such a long moodlet. They don't have to happen next to the door!

Kyle is Kyle. I really wouldn't like solving that problem by changing some options in CAS. We want a live mode, gameplay solution. We'll see more of Kyle. Will pregnancy suit him? He's evil and gloomy, so, not at all. But it will hopefully happen to him anyway.

Yes! Abduction! He moved in as the pollinator moved out. They just swapped places.

He joined the science career because Persephone left the satellite dish there. Enele's death upset my plans to try to get him abducted and have an alienboo with the Sulani Mana trait. So that's what's going to happen to Kyle. For narrative purposes we can say Aili (he's Aili's father figure for the last day or two of her being a teen) taught him about Sulani... and magic... he has the trait. I want a 100% alien with the trait. That's a goal. I assume it'll pass on through such a birth, even though it logically shouldn't. But I want to find out.

Sims Eugenics II - it rained a bit, and then stopped

There's perhaps more updating here than I realized. Anywho. So don't expect to see any spellcasters here or a glorious house with stained glass windows in a double volume library with thick carpets any time soon. My imagination has run away with itself.

-----

So Kyle, to rescue his bloodline, is trying to be abducted. He can't teleport to the wormhole device in the roof, but it was literally brought down to his level.

There's very little story purpose for this picture of Aili, but hey, it's Red Goth 2, and she's great. And my plan is that she must be immortal if there's a potion for that. Absolutely.

And she overtook Wayne in the fame race, and became our 4th global superstar. Yes, she's still a teen.

Kait's tile on the Walk of Fame had been defaced, which is frowned upon.

Maxie, had been an elder for a while and she curled up next to the fireplace and passed away.

Then one of those never ending storms rolled in, and I love the atmosphere of it, and how the house looks in the light.

That satisfies my curiosity as to what Kait looks like as a brunette. Or burnt. They still go out in the storm to use the diving platform. Because that's a club activity. And I haven't changed it. I run out of ideas for club activities (so do you, you never say so, it's fine). And Krispy Kait adds such excitement. Will we have another unplanned death? (No, we won't.) (But for a moment, you saw Krispy Kait, and your heart fluttered -- Fluttered, I say -- at the thought of her Peril.

Our teenage wonders (but not you, Wayne) eat lobster thermidor. As you do, as an average teen, after drama club. Personally, I'm not a fan of crawly seafood. It reminds me of Tennyson's Charge of the Light Brigade*.

*this is untrue, I'm sorry. Sometimes the things we want to be true, aren't. And you find Solace. In cheese. Obviously.

Back the reality of Sims, Wayne is at the lab. That's the satellite dish made by Persephone that has stood for probably two centuries.

And the lab's garden. The gardening update that rolled out with Seasons made the plants at the lab basically useless because the sims cannot be on the lot at 5am. But I understand the good reasons for the change, and sometimes there's collateral damage. This is it.

And of course one of the inmates at the lab was an elder who died on Kyle's first day. Well, I was supposed to "gossip about co-workers" with you, but... guess not.

The interactions with the satellite had the right effect straight away. Kyle is abducted during the never-ending storm.

And that's him returning. If you're wondering, he didn't get pregnant. [insert non-threatening grumbling noises of annoyance] The scene was staged using the [TAB] camera, and I was repeatedly taking screenshots in the hope there'd be a lightning strike with the UFO in the same picture.

Literally a 10th of a second after the UFO flies away, there was lightning. I caught the fading effects of the strike. It's so gorgeously, deeply atmospheric that this is also the current house picture on the first page of this utterly silly story.

I think it helps having the previous shot for comparison. The highlighted, wild, racing clouds.

Kyle looks upset, maybe that he's not pregnant, and there's a birthday cake ready to go. This is the last we see of Red Goth 2 as a teen.

Wayne and his big mouth aged up at the same time. Not long after, he did something trivially famous to reach level three fame, and then donated his way to becoming our 5th global superstar. This is his happy face at that moment. Through the window, Yesenia and Aili are hanging out with tourists and paparazzi. It's hardly worth chasing the Enduring Fame trait for Kait or Yesenia, but definitely for Aili. (And probably Wayne too. But so far, no one wants his picture. Not making that up.)

I'll finish with Goths 1 & 2. Heatwave, symmetry.

Well, well...Kyle got abducted immediately! Best wishes to you with Kyle's alienboo!
I'm starting to wonder if alien pregnancies have been nerfed. After 1-2 abductions, my male sims have always gotten pregnant, usually against my plans for that household.
Even without the lightning bolt, your screenshot of the alien abduction amidst the raging storm is magnificent!

Grrr, The Lab's garden! Whenever my Scientist sim arrives at work, his co-workers are already watering the garden.
Outside the garden, the ground is littered with bluebell plants. My sim had to plant them there so he could "Order co-worker to garden."

Poor Kyle. He looks so sad. Aili and Wayne, on the other hand, seem to be thriving.

I know I could move the story along faster, but I'm always taking screenshots.

Maybe it's been nerfed, but like you, this is the first time I've actively tried. I think that when Get to Work was new, almost any male abduction was a pregnancy. They were almost guaranteed. --If Kyle gets an alienboo with Sulani Mana, that sim will be the founder of something new. Has to be.

Ailie and Wayne have maxed friendship and romance bars. They're great. I could get 7th generation Red Goth 3 started now, but I'd like them to both be spellcasters as there's another trait they can start passing on. They are YA now, and I've got the wedding arch at the back ready to go. So they can get hitched at least. I'm very excited to see their child. Will she have the mouth?

I also want to see if lighthouse woohoo is still bugged (and if there's a mod that fixes it if so). I feel that's a trait that this family, looking across the bay to the lighthouse, should also get.

I know what you mean about screenshots! Sometimes when I can't choose, I crop a whole bunch of screenshots--2 or 3 each of the multiple scenes--and upload them to my image hosting service so I can make the final decisions. So yes, I'm switching back and forth between headlineeffects on/off a lot and just as frequently pause the game.

I remember when Get to Work was new. Male sims getting pregnant left and right created a huge outcry, such that the devs backpedaled to say female aliens getting male human sims was a glitch, haha. They removed that feature, destroying my plan for a 100 Babies Challenge with a female alien as the founder. *sighs
Best wishes with your plans for Kyle. An alien with the Sulani Mana trait would serve as a fantastic founder!

Never heard about the lighthouse woohoo bug. Wait, what? There's a visible trait, Had Lighthouse Woohoo?
What does it do? Whenever the sim sees a boat, it honks or lights up?

There's a hidden trait for sims that are conceived in the lighthouse, which seems to just give a unique moodlet. Your version sounds much more exciting. Let's hope the devs read this. ;p
