Sims 3 Randomly Keeps Closing?
« on: April 12, 2020, 06:20:03 PM »
I am going to play my Sims 3 game and about 2 minutes or less, it will just close randomly with no crash error or anything. Just close. I tried repairing it from origin, I unactivated 3 packs, I turned some display settings all the way down, I tried messing with compatibility settings, I just do not know what is happening!

The desktop I am playing on is new, but it seems like the actual time I can play the game before it closes is getting smaller and smaller. It did this on my laptop but not as bad. I can't even play Sims 3 because it only stays open for 2 minutes or less?

I do run it in a windowed mode since it was having some display issues that affected gameplay. Just not sure what else to do about this random closing!

Are you able to get into a save file/new game or not? Just want to know when this crashing takes place.

Yes, I am able to select a save file. But, out of the ten plus times I have had to try to load back in, I was messing with the options in the Main Menu and it still closed.

Can you find an xcpt file that was generated? These are text files found in Documents -> Electronic Arts -> The Sims 3. Either attach it in your post so I can analyze it, or if you are comfortable, download the Crash Log Analyzer.

Okay I plugged it into the Crash Log Analyzer and it said "insufficient graphics" and I noticed you posted about buying a new desktop earlier so it makes sense.
