University students cannot vacation with rest of their family

My student lives at home as a young adult but can't be invited to go on vacation with the rest of her family. Why?

I wasn't aware that it isn't even an option, but it would be disastrous for your grades if you did.  I took a significant hit from Harvestfest coming up, I guess I should have made my sim go to class anyway.  You could wait for the term to end, not re-enroll, go on vacation, and then enroll when you came back.

Have you tried starting the vacation with different sims? I have from time to time had a situation where if I started any sort of travel with Sim X, Sim Y would not be on the list to go but if I started with Sim Z there would be no problem.
