House - Sunny Townhouse - 3br + Nursery, 3.5ba
« on: April 27, 2011, 02:08:56 AM »
House: Sunny Townhouse

Lot: 30x30
Bedrooms: 3 + Nursery
Bathrooms: 3.5
Furnished Cost: $157,117
Items: WA, Amb, LN. I'm fairly certain there are no Store or SP items.

Description: This delightfully modern family home has room for everyone. It features a split-level design [doesn't look great in-game - patience required for those of us that take screenshots - but it is fully functional] including a basement, main story with a raised living/dining area, and a second story. Fireplaces can be found in the master en-suite upstairs and in the living area. The basement is home to two bedrooms decorated for children/teens and a full bathroom. Behind the single car garage is a half bath/laundry room and a home office off the kitchen. Two second story terraces provide space for sunbathing and stargazing with plenty of room for a future hot tub. The side yard can be accessed from the kitchen and has a small play area for children with plenty of room for a future pool or Gnubb game set-up.

From the Curb:

First Floor Layout:

Second Floor Layout:

Living/Dining Area:

One of Two Basement Bedrooms: [yes, there are windows!]

A variety of skill items are available around the house for everyone from curious toddlers to employed adults/elders. Cheers to anyone who can count all the candles.

@lilygirl:

Something is wrong with your images on Photobucket.  Did you possibly move them to another folder after linking them here?  You can also use our Gallery for hosting images, if that works better for you.

Pam - I see (and saw) no problem with the photos... but perhaps lilygirl has fixed them since your post?

Ah, now I can see the pictures! I'd already downloaded it anyway  :D. I've just nipped into my game, and all I can say is this: You're the best cheater I've ever seen! I've got no idea how you came up with that layout. The split levels are just amazing, and you did a great job covering up the seams (the display tables and fences covering the windows in the basement rooms are especially clever). I always love seeing moveobjects tricks and yours are ao creative; I especially love the headboard in the master bedroom. Wow, I'm not even jealous anymore, it's that good.   ;D

Huge sorry to everyone! I renamed my folders in photobucket last night after posting this and then I went to bed. I didn't realize that renaming my folders would break the links to the pictures or I would have fixed everything last night. Sorry!

Thanks for the comments everyone. Ausette, thank you for the glowing compliment, it just made all the hours of brain work and redos of this build worth it! I can't claim credit for most of my floor plans, I usually google what I'm looking for and pick what jumps out at me, like this one. Since I learned about the frieze cheat I've wondered about the feasibility of a split-level design, and when I found this floor plan I thought it would be the perfect one to try it on. Fun fact: the only friezes are located on the roof! Go figure. This build has made me seriously want the possibilities of a walk-out basement tool.

It looks awesome! Thanks. I've been looking for cute houses to put my extended legacy family in. They are all reaching the age to where they will be needing their own home soon

Fabulous job on the house Lilygirl. I just started glancing this area of the forum and noticed you have at least a couple of houses linked here. Both gorgeous too.

You're quite the architect and home builder.

Thank you, guys, I'm glad you enjoy the fruits of my unemployment!

The windows in the basement thing was something I had to figure out because I "had to" build this as close to the picture as I could, and building the living space on the ground with an actual basement underneath doesn't qualify as a spit-level design, in my opinion. Also, I wanted bedrooms in the basement instead of a recreation room and building codes require windows in any room people in real life will be sleeping. And I can't build houses I couldn't stand to live in in real life.

Thank you for the compliments everyone!
