Vampire Hidden Trait
« on: July 05, 2011, 03:06:44 PM »
I've read on Simwiki that the vampire has a hidden trait which provide the owner with the following atributes:

■Makes Sim behave like a Vampire.
■Runs faster
■More interactions with Sims
■Secret trait is passed on to their children
■Brighter eyes
■Sharper teeth
■Gives normal Sims who don't know them a negative moodlet
■Night gives them a major energy boost
■When sleeping, V's will replace the snoring Z's
■Can sleep on altar
■Thirst replaces hunger by drinking other human sims, plasma fruit can be grown and bought as a blood replacement, and a new quick meal of plasma juice replacing plasma fruit or actual blood
■Children of vampires learn skills at an alarming rate of mastering a skill in the duration of 2 sim days in Late Night
■Young adult vampires can live for 100 days

As this trait can be passed on to their children I am looking for people who have experience with this: the benefits and downsides of vampire children. For example: can they live with sunlight: daywalkers?

Until they become YA's, vampire kids don't get burned by the sun and can eat normal food.

Kids can't use the altar bed, but teens can. Teens can be out in daytime without a problem.

I also noticed in many games that Elvira Slayer eats human food without getting sick. She's the only vampire I've seen do this.

The other thing is that vampires don't dream. No thoughts above their heads when they sleep.

It's not only the YA life stage that is lengthened -- Adult too. And you've got your numbers wrong, it's 104 days each. By each, I mean that Vampires have 104 days in YA and another 104 in Adult.

What Simstar and MoMoll said is perfectly right.

There is also a snack called Plasma Fruit Chowder, available only in Bridgeport, via Food Trucks. Vampires don't get sick when they eat this, too.

One thing that is worth a note is that born vampires skill at a much faster rate than the ones who get turned. This is also an obvious glitch. Each time you open a save file that has a born vampire in it, the worse it gets. Vampires were meant to skill only twice as fast as normal Sims, but not at such a rapid rate. I got this info from the official forums.

Quote
The skill modifier is broken. Every time you reload the game, vampires skill faster. Some skills are instant 1-10, like photography. Eventually, your normal non-vamp sims will stop being able to skill because of this.

For the very few that actually have had it where your sims cannot skill, this is the problem.

Edit: I know that they are supposed to skill faster, but it's supposed to be 3x not 100x.

Leto, do you need the exact names of moodlets and interactions as well? Because I can provide those, too.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

No, thank you. It's not important for me anymore. But you can start a new topic if you want to share them with people here yourself.
I don't have much interest in halfbreed vampires anymore as they will become vampires after growing up to become teen. I was hoping some special abilities could be passed on to a sim without having the need to be a vampire.

Oh, okay. No, unfortunately, it has been discussed and people came to a conclusion that it is not the 50/50 chance that the Vampire trait will be passed. It's somehow messed up and it is a 90 percent chance instead of only 50 percent. One thing about this trait too... if a Sim has this hidden creature trait, you can't use the Edit In CAS cheat on them. I think that is worth a note. :)

Good to know! Another reason for my to step away from the original plan. No halfbreed vampires for me.
