Cloning
« on: July 12, 2011, 08:33:16 PM »
I bought and installed Generations a couple days ago because I thought the new content that was being added was really neat -- specifically, the Cloning LTR. I wanted to clone my sim because he's in a same-sex relationship and I didn't want to adopt -- I prefer children with similar genetic makeup, you see. Well, after cloning my sim, I found that it was more of a mixture of him and his partner, Dustin Langorak, rather than being a clone of my sim. The most obvious example is the hair color. My sim has brown hair, and the clone has blond, Dustin's hair color. The clone also has Dustin's eyes but shares the same nose, mouth and traits as my sim. My theory for what caused this is that it created a child between Dustin and my sim, instead of just cloning my sim. Is this a bug? Has anyone seen anything similar to this occur?

I won't say it's a bug, but a nifty addition to the game. I've never tried this lifetime reward before, but I guess it works pretty much the same way as woohooing in the Time Machine. Thanks for sharing. :)

What age do the clones come out? Do the clones come out as infants?  :)

The child stage, I think. :)

Yes, that is correct.

I had my doctor sim clone himself as he is married to Alexy Fresco in Bridgeport and wanted a first child.  Of course this was the only way to go as I wanted his genes to carry on.  (I'm very attached to Dylan) ;D  I worked great, little Connor looked like Dylan would've looked like if he were a child (made in CAS from YA).  The game is fine now and Connor is a teen but had some difficulty when I sent him to boarding school as a child but that's for another thread. ;)

I would recommend cloning LTR if your sim was unable to have any kids by the natural way. :)

When I cloned the child looked just like my sim and had the same traits. The glitch was in her relationship bar, it showed 2 mothers. Haven't tried cloning since.
