Level 10 career question

I am in the medical career and I am at level 10 earning the most money.I'm kinda getting bored and I want to be a rockstar but if I quit and change my mind and want to join the medical career again will I have to start at lvl 1 again

Once making it level 10 in a career, if you quit then come back it starts you at level 5.
