Riding skill raises athletic skill?

My sim maxed out the riding skill and while traveling in China decided he want to work out. He never worked out in his life and when he started pump iron, his athletic skill jump three! Does it happen to anyone else?

Yes, without going anywhere, my sim gained atheletics from riding. Didn't you get this before going to China.

Lol I usually let my sims work out, but this sim is a skinny jocky! I didn't think he need muscles. ::)
