Setting Up the Stage

My sim had a gig in the park, but other sims had set up picnic baskets in front of the stage and it wouldn't let me set up the stage. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Are you talking in the park of Starlight Shores?   The picnic baskets out front have never caused me to not be able to set up the stage behind them.  Make sure you are choosing the ground that's up on the foundation in the middle like where you see the pretzel seat.

People have had a lot of trouble setting up stages for singer gigs, but it doesn't have anything to do with picnic baskets.

Make sure you switch your sim into his or her career outfit before trying to set up the stage; sometimes that helps.
