Furniture not showing up in game?
« Reply #75 on: October 05, 2013, 02:21:16 PM »
Do I still install Sims 3 CC Furniture in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages or is that just for clothes? I've been saving it in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves and it isn't showing up in the game.

Any packages can go into the Packages folder. They won't get installed into the game when they're in the Saves folder.

hello, may i get your answer here for my teribble sims 3 issue.
first thing i download no mosaic (uncensored package) thing into the program files/electronic arts/the sims 3/ mods/ packages. it also have resource.cfg on it in program files/electronic arts/the sims 3 after i extracted the .rar. then i opened the sims 3 and it worked with the package inside.

then, the terrible thing begin when i downloaded packages from the modthesims and extracted it all into program files/electronic arts/the sims 3/ mods/ package but not in my documents and i'm also not sure if the mod packages are for the sims 3/2 because i think they are all for the sims 3. then i opened up my the sims 3 launcer and it said not working.

i hope i get the answer here for the solution problem. thanks anyway for the thread.

Step 3:
Under that folder, create another new folder, and name it "Package." This is where you download your Sims3package files.
- Thanks JMx3 for your lucid and detailed step-by-step; however, I'm confused by "Package", as "Packages" is cited as being very particular, according to
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/217955.page
As my "system" is only 32 bit and needs culling -
without having to spend weeks & weeks
I'd really like to know the correct syntax:
Packages / Package
Hope This Helps similar newbies... Hardware / System Upgrade pending
Thanks again for your Post - V.Helpful in any case.

Packages. That's been there for a while, so I'll go ahead and correct it. :) Welcome to the forum.

AMermaidHi, welcome to the forum. :) These instructions should still work for Mac. Just make sure that the Mods folder is in the same folder as your Saves and Downloads folders. :)

And lim23, welcome to the forum. :) Your issue would be better off in a new thread in the Game Modifications board. :)

There is a problem here. At Step 4 when I click on the "Resource cfg file", a message pops up which says,

"403

What is going on here? By the way, I bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1 installed and this is the first time I am playing Sims 3 in a year.

I am confused. Please advise! Thanks!

When are you getting the 403 error message?
I just went and followed the link in step 4 and clicked the download link on that page and it downloaded with no problems.

Let's try this. Here is a link to a different download for it. Resource.cfg
If that one doesn't work either thy this one. Resource.cfg

Ugh.. I know there may be something already posted in this somewhere but I cant find it. I got a new computer some time back - MAINLY because I wanted to play this game without the stuttering and slowmotion of my old laptop. It's a Dell XPS 127, FULLY LOADED with enough EVERYTHING to run 4 copies of this game without a hiccup.

OS Windows 8 Pro
2 TB Sata 6BS Hard drive + 32 GB Sata solid state drive BP
IntelCore I7 4770s CPU 3.10 GHZ
16 GB Ram, 64 BT X 64 processor
NVIDEA G Force GT 750 2GB DDR5 with TPM V1.2 and Thunderbolt

I had this game loaded on here once and fully operational WITH the FULL NRAS (all mods) and it was working flawlessly. Until this very pricey TURD dropped it's motherboard. You can imagine my dismay. Well Dell sent someone to replace it, I had to reload everything. I RE downloaded my full digital set up to Seasons, and then went to the process of re installing my CC beginning with the Master Controller. However, the minute I added the package files the game crashed out at the screen you would normally be entering the sims Home.. IE it goes through the entire loading screen process then dumps.  If I remove all NRAS items (leaving the no sparkle and intro) it loads and plays. I can't play this game without my beloved Mods.. I want to hurl this computer out a window right about now.. HELP.

Are you installing the Nraas mods that are update to date and appropriate for your patch level?

I just tried the resource cfg link and it doesn't work. How do I proceed? I'm trying the NoCD mod right now if that helps.
