Cupid's Challenge

Cupid's Challenge

Goal
In honor of St. Valentine, your job is to arrange dates and marriages for 14 lucky unmarried Sims, at least one of whom has to be an elder, an adult, and a young adult. Each of your targets for Cupid's arrow has to complete a date (medal doesn't matter, but it has to last 6 hours) with, propose to, and marry another unmarried Sim. Your score will be the length of time it takes you to do this.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • In CAS, create a married Young Adult couple. Their sole purpose is to get you into the game. After placing them in a house, click on the gray plumbob above a house that contains at least one unmarried Sim. Once you're finished with that house, click on "Manage Households" and choose another house.
  • IMPORTANT: Remember in Options to set a Short life span and to "Fill empty houses."
  • You may not add any venues.
  • None of your Sims may contact Jasmine Holiday.
  • You may not use the Romantic Aura lot trait, and your Sims may not go to any lots that have this trait.
  • You may not break up any marriages.
  • Your target Sims may marry another Sim in the same household, but that counts as only one marriage.
  • Your target Sim may not be a vampire, but your target Sim may marry a vampire.
  • This challenge ends when you have arranged 14 marriages.
Scoring
Your score is the length of time it takes you to arrange 14 marriages. Write down the time when the "Move in" popup appears for your last couple, or when the confetti falls if your couple is already in the same household. Use Lena's spreadsheet to make this easy. Just plug in the necessary info and it will automatically calculate everything to minutes. When you post your score, be sure to post the Sim day and time.

Total Minutes — Plug in all the info needed in Lena's spreadsheet and get the total minutes.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, Nutella, LenaLJ, Trip, and MarianT) for clarifications. Thanks.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, but the winner especially is expected to do so in detail.

The linked spreadsheet Lena came up with is not quite done yet.

So after we complete the 14 marriages we go back to our original starting sims to note the time and age for scoring?

You'll just need the time, and that should be available on your 14th couple.

Oh sorry I hadn't looked at the spreadsheet before so I was assuming we would need the days till age up and all that but we just need to pay attention to weeks. Got it thanks!

When you post your score make sure to post your Sim's life stage, days to age up, and the time of day.

I apologize if there's something I'm missing, but which statement is correct?

You don't need the life stage. I think that's a holdover from other challenges.

Maybe I just don't understand how it works but can you please give more details? Do we play only as the starting couple and then just try "convince" the others to get on a date and get married? Or how?

Welcome to the forum, Whimsical Peanut! You'll move from one household with an unmarried Sim in it to another. Once you've moved in your married couple, open up the options Menu (. . . in the upper righthand corner). Choose "Manage Households." This will take you to the Map Screen, and you can choose a household that has a gray plumbob above it.

Thank You! Now it makes more sense for me. I was a bit disappointed with Sims 4, as I liked the others better, but I hope the challenges will make it more fun for me :)

When my 14th couple (Nash Rector and Elsa Bjergsen got married, it was Wednesday day 4 week 5 at 8:02 a.m.

46,082 minutes total

I'm having trouble with the spreadsheet, but that's when the week, day and time when my last couple got married.

Edit:
I did the math step-by-step to get the total minutes, instead of the spreadsheet, so I got the same thing.

Here is the math:
24 hours X 7 days = 168 hours
168 hours X 60 minutes = 10,080 minutes in 1 week
10,080 minutes X 4 weeks = 40,320 minutes
24 hours X 4 days = 96 hours
96 hours X 60 minutes = 5,760 minutes

40,320 minutes
+
  5,760 minutes
 = 46,080 minutes

+
2 minutes
=
46,082 minutes total

Therefore, the 14th couple got married on Day 4 of Week 5 at 8:02 a.m. for a total of
46,082 minutes

I had fun doing this challenge, as well :).

@MarianT, @Metropolis Man and @LenaLJ, the above message has the calculation of my total minutes:

46,082 minutes total

I thought I would post this message, so that, you could find how long it took me to get 14 couples married in minutes.

Thanks again for a wicked fun challenge 8)!
