Question about old Win7 computer
« on: March 22, 2026, 10:20:41 PM »
I have an old Win7 computer that has all my Sims 3 games/downloads/etc on it and I've kept that operating because I was avoiding having to re-download everything to my newer computer.  (I know...I was being lazy and didn't want any of my Sims stuff to converge with my work stuff).

In any case, I went to load up a game a couple days ago, only to find that the EA app was forcing me to allow a new update.  I let it up date and then found that EA has now discontinued being able to use their app to login on all Win7 computers.  I tried doing some creative work-arounds but nothing is working.  While I know that Win7 is certainly dated, does anyone know of a way to run the games on that version of Windows now that EA has decided we can no longer use their app?

I've tried doing direct loads of the .exe files, I've tried going back to a different iteration of the EA app, and I cannot access my EA games at all.  Now, I know I've been away from the Sims for a couple years, but does anyone know of a way to run it on Win7 given the changes to the EA app?  Oh, and I even got an old version of Origin to work, but for whatever reason, it thinks I'm offline and refuses to load any of my games, and I haven't been able to find a way around that as yet.

Any/all suggestions would help.
Kind regards,
Natt
