One final thank you to all of you for sharing your opinions. I went and bought LN yesterday...

I must say I'm having fun so far! The apartment buildings are kinda cool. I like the clubs so far too; no more going only to the park or library to meet people.
I made another test game in Sunset Valley, and got my first celebs and vampire(s) within 2 days ingame. I don't know if they're random or not, but my Celebs were the Bachelor kids and Pauline Wan. Hank Goddard is the only vampire so far. I'm satisfied; I can see Pauline as a celeb, and I guess the Bachelors are "famous" from earlier games (or so I hear, I never played Sims 1 or 2) so I think they've earned their celebrity status aswell.  ;)

One thing that I liked a lot is all those new patterns! It's hard to tell which came from which EP, but it seems there's a lot more patterns in my game now. I love decorating.

*whispers*  Don't tell anyone. Sometimes I buy EPs just for the decorating stuff.

I'd already made up my mind not to buy this one, even passing it up when it was on sale, because I was positive the celebrities and paparazzi would annoy the daylights out of me. I was under the impression that if you so much as sneezed in the general vicinity of a celebrity, you'd have creepy stalker photographer people following you around (for some reason, it seems even creepier if there's only one or two). And I just like the "feel" of Sunset Valley more than a bigger city (which doesn't seem like it'd be populated enough to actually feel like a city) and I was afraid the game would wedge skyscrapers and subway stations into my lovely seaside community they way it did the junkyards.

But I do wish my sims could play something other than that guitar. And dance in a way that doesn't look like...well, like they're more awkward dancers than I am.  :D So it's informative and interesting reading the impressions of others who weren't so sure.

Well I am glad you decided to get it because every EP brings a little something that you weren't expecting.  I cannot imagine not buying an EP because I would be too afraid of other people having things that I didn't.  ;D  Late Night is probably my least favourite EP though.  I dislike the whole celebrity thing in real life as well as in a game and I was disappointed in EA for going that route.  Still, that is just my opinion and there are heaps of people who love it.  I didn't think I would like the vampires but once I started playing with my own sim vampire, I found it a lot of fun.  The skill gains were amazing though that could have been a bug.  :D  I don't really like the apartment buildings or the nightclubs and have never stepped foot in Bridgeport - what a wowser eh - but I do like the musical instruments and the mixology.  So, for me, it was a mixed bag.  I am still glad I bought it though and one day I might get around to some of the things that don't appeal to me now.

@FrostFlower : Yes the paparzzi can be annoying;  but, aren't they like that in real life? You don't have the play Bridgeport if you don't like the city. In Sims2 I hated the Werwolfs; but, it didn't stop me from from buying the EP because there were other things that I liked. Once the photography glitch is fixed, I'm making a papaeazzi sim who can stalk the celebs!

At Noodles: You've already named the great things that Late Night has to offer:

+ Instruments. I'd really love to have the piano etc.!
+ Vampires.
+ New items / hair / clothes.
(+ Butlers.)

But please keep in mind that the butler loves cooking to much, and will do that all the day, making your own sims stop what they where doing and going to eat, if they are hungry or not.
My way to prevent this is to made the door to the kitchen 'Only accable for family' so no other people can pass that door, including buttlers.
They can be an extra chat, for incase social is getting low and they do the laundry. If they have a hidden trait I don't know. I hope they do, but I'm not sure. When you find out, please let me know.
