Creating ghost pets - dog isnt dying of old age.
« on: May 03, 2012, 11:22:00 PM »
Its been a few days and I set the time an elder dog can live super low, but the darn thing just wont die. The grim reaper is 2 days late for the appointment with my dog and even having asteroids striking down my dog isn't killing it. I haven't done the more barbaric routes to kill it yet so the ghost can be blue instead of red. Is the grim reaper always this late for a job?

There is no set time for a Sim or Sim animal to live. Sometimes they can live way past the average. Have you fed the dog any gourmet pet food? I believe that can extend the life of a pet.

I stopped feeding it fancy food and the grim reaper pretty much showed up after I did that... Was kinda a bummer that I ended up with yet another red ghost, I probably just didn't save up enough life time happiness. I'll give it another shot for a blue one.

PS: Does anyone know of a mod that  can make ghosts walk normally instead of hovering at 0.0001 miles per hour just to emphasize their 'ghostly' state? Its stupid how long it takes to check the mail when one of my sims decides to hover to it.

Can I ask, is it random to get a blue or red pet ghost?

No, it's not random. It has something to do with their happiness points I think - Blue is good, red is not so good. (Well I think that's the way it is lol)

Once my dog kept going for 16, yes, no joke, 16 sim days after he had reached the end of his elder bar.
