Showtime venues with Late Night bars.

Hi all,

I seem to remember hearing that Late Night venues and Showtime venues will gain some kind of overlap, so that you will be able to serve Late Night drinks in a Showtime venue, or alternatively that, say, a Dance Club can serve as a Live Venue.

Can anyone confirm this? Is this an upcoming patch, or is it already possible? The last time I tried to place Late Night bars in Showtime venues, none of them worked properly (bar staff arrived, but the choice of drinks was severely limited).

Someone found out in the new patch that you could use Dance Clubs as say a Live Venue but not the other way around.

Excellent! So, if I placed a stage and audience spots in, say, a Poolside Club, this would spawn a proprietor and act as a Live venue? This is perfect, exactly what I was hoping.

This was introduced with Patch 1.36.  There is a thread about it under the General Discussion board if you want to see the exact wording.

I thought with just a bit of remodeling and changing the names of the lots to whatever you wanted you would wind up with the venue of choice?

I took the extra building attached to Waylon's Haunt and put in a stage, slot machines and another bar.  It spawned a propriator and it is still called Waylon's Haunt and my sim is a regular singer there.

Great use of that building!  I've always wanted to remodel it and turn it into something like a big consignment store or whatever but what you did is perfect.  Does it still show up as a dive bar though or does it show up with a venue label like "Live Show"?  I'd love to see pics of that build in the remodel thread!

Still shows as a dive bar; but, I don't care what it's called because she has a permanent gig there and it counts toward her progression iin the singer career. I didn't do anything fancy with it. Just placed a few things in it to make it possible for her to sing there. It's a huge room, so you can do a lot with it. Maybe I'll do some more remodeling today and make it look better.
