Master Planter Challenge doesn't register

Long story short I am trying to super max the gardening skill, and the Master planter challenge seems not to be working. It says plant 19 different types of plants, but I have done that many times. I line up 19 different plants, plant them, and then the challenge does register. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks.

Are the 19 plants mature or better?  I mean have they fully grown and produced harvestables?

They are all producing fruit. I know for sure because I have used the fruit from the first set of 19 to grow the second set of 19. The second group isn't producing yet but the first group sure is.

Try to do number 20 then.  For some reason in most of my games, I can't get the 8 perfect veggie garden until I have 9 perfect.

Even with twenty or twenty-one  it still doesn't register. I the first time I did it the music played for skill challenge complete , but it didn't register in my sims journal.

Have you cleared your cache files recently?  Done a save as and then restarting the whole computer?
