Imaginary Friends "strut"
« on: August 25, 2012, 11:06:32 PM »
Hello,
I haven't been playing generations for very long, but does anyone know if there is anyway to "turn off" the strut when the imaginary friend is human? I tried to turn it to a vampire, so it can move faster but it doesn't seem possible to turn imaginary friends into vampires - help?

Does it strut all the time? Because it shouldn't. I have an Imaginary friend turned human, he walks normally, the option to "Strut" is there but he doesn't do it unless I tell him to. One way to get a sim around faster is to have them learn Martial Arts so they can Zeneport if you don't mind doing that.

In my game it struts all the time... must be a glitch. I will try to learn martial arts though, thanks a lot :)

Np. You need to have World Adventures and go to China to learn Martial Arts, I think if you are lucky you might occasionally find the books in the Consignment Store, can't remember if they sell the training dummy or board breaker though. Once your Sim learns how to mediatate and does so for about 4 hours they will have the option to zeneport, later on they will be able to do it much sooner.

My Imaginary friend turned human only ever struts when I tell him to, that is, when my Custom Station Plays Stayin' Alive.

Probably a glitch.  Also, the Consignment store sells board Breakers sometimes.

One more thing, there is a much easier way if you don't mind using cheats and are not playing in a challenge where cheats are not allowed. Open up the cheat menu by pressing Control + Shift + C (At the same time), type in "testingcheatsenabled true" but without the quotation marks. Next shift click on where you want to go and there should be the option to teleport. That might be better if you can't travel.

Did you try resetting the Sim?

Something you can do that help with glitches like is, move the sim to the clipboard and move him or her then back into the household. The sim will loose wishes though.

I'll try both of those next time I play, hopefully it should fix the problem.
Thanks for all the comments everyone, it's really appreciated :)

I'd just like to clarify that the consignment store does not sell boardbreakers - that may be part of a mod, but not part of the original consignment store. It's not in the code for what the consignment store sells, and I've never seen one myself. If you want to increase your martial arts skill without travelling, you can eat from the tree of prosperity.
