Removing Saved Recolours
« on: August 28, 2012, 01:30:40 PM »
I've got a few (way) too many saved recolours of objects and patterns in my game and I've tried deleting them but they don't seem to last and appear the next time I open a game. Is there a way to remove them by deleting a cache file or something but without uninstalling Store Content etc. ? I think the DcCache or whichever folder it is can do this but I don't want to reinstall all my store content and other downloaded houses, sims etc.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

Any recoloring that you've saved can be removed by getting rid of your Userpresets.package.   But it will get rid of all of them so if there is any you want to keep, share them to make them downloadable again.  If it's patterns you have too many of, you need to uninstall them via the launcher.

Thanks Rica! I'll look for that file!  :)

It will be in your Sims 3 folder where the other cache files are.

Tom, I've been trying to get rid of recolors and cc patterns as well.  Going into the launcher and hitting delete doesn't really get rid of them permanently.  I've even tried going into the launcher and asking for the file and removing the file but they still come back.  I think the only way to permanently get rid of them is to use the Userpresets.pkg file.  Personally, I hate doing that because I think it also gets rid of anything you saved in CAP and it's a pain to have to sort out what you want to keep, save it to a file not in game, then replace it all.  Let me know if you come up with a better solution.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I don't have a problem with downloaded patterns or stuff like that, just saved recolours of default patterns but now that I've removed that file you and Rica said they are gone and CAS loads faster for me now. Especially the woods category, eesh I had to wait just as long for the saved recolours to load as the default ones!  :)
