Child Cousins
« Reply #45 on: November 14, 2012, 09:10:24 PM »
Arya is definitely carrying Wang's genes in a more prominent way than mine, but when we stand close together, you can see our similarities.  She has my nose, at the very least!

The child birthdays were held upstairs as we realized fairly quickly that getting toddlers who can walk down a flight of stairs is next to impossible.  Daddy attempted to get up to shenanigans right before the party, but I caught him and told him to behave.

I also found out Elia may not be with us much longer.  I tried to invite her over, but she's not the most pleasant woman.

We set up the cakes and Arya, as usual, went first.

Then Tommen

Arya gained the bravery trait and Tommen gained grumpy.  They immediately settled into their new lives as children.  Both are still very attached to those toys.  It turns out their names are Gendry and Margaery, not Jenny and Jerry.

It does make me feel a bit old.  Not as old as the gnomes, though.  Susan has gotten positively ancient.

I also spotted Brynden and Eddard in the library recently.  Eddard has an unfortunate style sense as a teen.

And Wang had his elder birthday!

I still think he's a dish.

We headed to China for a few days to celebrate.  Cersei and Rhaella tagged along.  At long last, I was able to get a good shot of our vacation home.  Isn't it darling?

Cersei resumed her butt-kicking in progressively more impressive ways.

While Rhaella upgraded appliances and Wang and I just relaxed.

We did think of the kids often though, so we cut the vacation short to get back to them.

Deaths and Additions
« Reply #46 on: November 14, 2012, 09:16:26 PM »
When we got back to Riverview, I realized with horror that my lifetime wish of being a Prolific Private Eye had reset itself back to zero!  I was only four cases away from accomplishing it.  I was fairly devastated.  I've changed it to "Super Popular" and hope that I'll be able to swing success now that I've been sent back to square one.

While we were in China, Daddy spoiled Arya and let her redecorate her room in yellow.  It looks pretty great, actually.

The first night we were back, Grim came for Mom.  She was 94.

Rhaella gave him a stern talking to for always hovering around and threatening her after deaths.

Somehow (I don't know if perhaps it was to do with our pregnancies?) Cersei aged up to an elder several days before I did.  She looks very well for an elder, though.  She will always be pretty.

Then Grim came for Daddy.  He was 98.

I left off some steam by beating Grim with a pillow, but he was just giggling the whole time.

Finally, the teen birthdays arrived.  I set the cakes up out back and gave those orange vials to the children like D. Wyles had told me to.  Then something bizarre happened.

Now, putting aside how creepy it is that those dolls were alive and alone with children for so long, they are now my responsibility through their teen years.  Cersei offered to move out and take Tommen and Margaery with her to Elmer's house, but I can't stand the idea of living without her.  So, we did what any sensible adult would do.  We bought two more cakes.

Four Teens (Four!)
« Reply #47 on: November 14, 2012, 09:25:46 PM »
Here are our teen family members, all grown up.

Arya

Tommen

Gendry

Margaery

As expected, I soon aged up to be as old as I felt.

Ach!  No, don't look!  After the mirror.  AFTER!

That's better.

It quickly became apparent that unrelated, opposite sex best friend teenagers living in the same home were going to start getting gooey.  We now have two budding couples living here.  My Arya and her Gendry (obviously).

He's shy, so it took these two a while to do anything other than watch the stars, but they are set in for prom now.  Plus, now that they've been on a few dates, I've had reports of this from onlookers:

Whatever.  My child can do no wrong.  She eats key lime pie with chopsticks.  How can you not love her?

Tommen and Margaery have been more discreet.  She is a hot headed drama queen, so I have no doubt it happens, I just can't catch them at it.  They too are up for prom.  All four kids are exceptionally well behaved and on honor roll.

But I just keep thinking about Dr. Wyles.  I've met him, you see.  I got another note right after the kids aged up asking me to use specific settings and try out Rhaena's time machine.  He warned me that now that the dolls have worked, things are about to get a little strange.  Saving Lady Nym's family means a lot for the course of history.

He said the seasons would be coming back.  I wouldn't have believed him, but there, in the future, I saw it for myself.  And I came back with some awesome digs.

Sigh.  I hate being old.  Just remember me like that, will you?

You have been PM'd!

Thanks to everyone for reading and commenting!  Catelyn is my favorite Sim ... pretty much ever.  It makes me sad that she got old.

Our First Summer (by Arya)
« Reply #51 on: November 15, 2012, 11:27:17 PM »
The weather started turning the night of prom.  We piled until the limo through the heavy afternoon heat and glanced at each other in excitement.  My mom had warned us that this would happen like we wouldn't want it.  The return of seasons was a brilliant prospect!  We'd learned all about them in history class and couldn't wait for the festivals and the rain and the feast parties!

Prom was just a catalyst for already existing excitement.  Gendry and I were king and queen.  (Papa says this photo is 'too racy' for a young girl)

Tommen and Geri (that's what she likes to be called) were the best dancers on the floor.  Everyone was copying their moves!

It was an awesome night.  Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any better, we woke up to the first rains of our lives. In preparation, Rhaella had umbrellas ready for us.  Mine is like an old man's socks!

Rhaella is a vampire, so she couldn't enjoy the rain during the day, but promised us she'd play in a puddle that night.  She's not really my aunt, so I just call her by her name.  She and I put our heads together to plan the upstairs expansion (part of my contribution to the legacy).

Not to toot my own horn, but I think I'm a better designer than Mom and Grandad (and G.G. Rhaena, and the legendary Lady Nym besides).  Rhaella is artistic, so the two of us were able to turn out some pretty spectacular new rooms.  This is Rhaella's new space:

We did redesign those carpets later on, but that's the best image of it.

Papa and Mom's new room:

I considered putting this in there, but ended up leaving it in the study so we can all gawk at its cuteness:

Say it with me, now:  awwww!

New master bathroom (with the coolest hamper ever.  I'm totally getting one):

And Aunt Cersei's space plus the butler's room.

We moved the Legacy portraits along the larger back wall, and included all the sibling paintings too.  It looks good!

Rhaella picked out a swanky new pool table for the foyer.  Mom and Papa are playing on it pretty much all the time since they're both retired.

It's when they practice alone that things get a little weird.  I have no clue what's happening in either of these images.

I mean, I could overlook whatever sadistic thing Mom is doing to that gnome.  Our family has a thing with the gnomes.  But why is Papa telling a xylophone to talk to the hand?  What fathomable explanation could there be for that?

Anyway, with our last weekend as teens, we decided to head down to the Cannery to check out the summer festival!

The first thing that happened was a water balloon fight between the imaginary friends

And the best cousins in all the land

The result was a draw.  But seriously, Geri is vicious with a water balloon.

She and I wanted to test out this new game called soccer.  The boys, for whatever reason, decided it'd be a good idea to attempt this:

I'm athletic, so I took to soccer immediately.  It's really fun!

Geri is so dramatic about it that she makes a hilarious opponent.  She seemed to really like it too, even without any athletic skill!

On Sunday, we went back to try out the skating rink with our parents.  It is disorienting at first, but I soon got it.

Aunt Cersei was hesitant to step onto the rink, so I helped her out with her first steps.

It didn't go as well as it could have.

It didn't matter though!  Soon she was skating circles around all of us.  I have no idea how or why she learned the skill so fast!

Geri kept stealing upstairs to eat blue ice.  She insisted it was the best thing one earth.

And the twins continued being the World's Best Siblings.

Honestly, I'm kind of scared of my young adult birthday!  Everything is going to change.  Geri and Tommen might move out and I have to make a career decision.  I hate the idea of Geri and Tommen being gone.  They are my best friends.

My traits are perfect for law enforcement, but my passion lies elsewhere ... I really don't know what to do.  I'm going to miss chaotic family breakfasts the most.

I'll miss feeling like my Mom is more of a teen than me.  Kicking her out of my room when she's checking for wrinkles at 4am on a test night

Or telling her to keep it down when she's doing the Smustle at all hours.

I wish she'd just stop getting older all together.  I kind of wish we all would.  It rained again on the last day of school.  It felt kind of appropriate.

The Quadruple Leisure Day Birthday
« Reply #52 on: November 18, 2012, 12:04:24 PM »
Rhaella surprised us and finished up the house renovations before we got home from school.  She did a wonderful job on the new nursery.  She's always had a soft spot for kids, and Mom and I have secretly wondered when she'll ever get around to having any.  She is several hundred years old, after all.

And, this one was a surprise for me, but she completely redid that red room that the boys had been sharing (originally Lady Nym/Trigger's room and later shared by Grandad Rickard and Grandma Terri.)  It looks like a completely different room!

The Yellow Room will always be a kiddie room, so I planned to move in here as soon as I aged up.  Gendry and I sneaked a kiss, thinking that soon we'd be old enough to make this space our own.

Four simultaneous birthdays are pretty chaotic!  We had four cakes spread around the kitchen.  Here are Gendry and Geri getting ready to blow out their candles.

While Tommen and I used the table

I admit I was scared, but I put on a brave face.  Festivities are meant to be festive, after all.  Anyway, enjoy this final look at me as a teenager with my baby fat cheeks!

And here we are all grown up.  First me:

Geri

Tommen

And Gendry

Graduation day was hectic, seeing as it was also Leisure Day!  We made a beeline for City Hall as soon as breakfast was over.  Rhaella was even able to join us with her new, sun-resistant umbrella.  She looked completely elegant in her new clothes.

Geri managed to snag the coveted Valedictorian slot.  I got "most likely to get married," which is kind of demeaning really!  I know Mom was thinking about it after the fact.

I think it was to do with the Hopeless Romantic trait I rolled when aging up.  But I didn't let it spoil my fun.

While the four of us were in caps and gowns and at City Hall anyway, we took the opportunity to immortalize the moment.

And I decided to break the (career) news to my family.  I did not intend to be a super spy or go into law enforcement at all (I KNOW, it's a huge waste or whatever).  I want to be an acrobat.  I'm very athletic and mastering what my body is capable of has always been my passion.  I even did some miming to entertain the crowds at the ceremony.

And I think Mom, watching me do what I love, understood completely.

The rest of Leisure Day was a whirlwind of good and bad.  Aunt Cersei and I decided to go check out the new Ice Lounge uptown.  I won't say it was "cool."  (Ha.)

While Rhaella um ... made a new friend?

In all seriousness, she seemed pretty stoked to meet someone who'd lived as long as she did.  They went on to do some truly horrific karaoke at the new karaoke club.

Mom had been swimming and reading up on Mixology.

When something awful happened

Mom cashed in a stone hearted lifetime reward ages ago, before her father died.  Papa used to joke and call her Lady Stonehart!  But she wasn't able to completely avoid the pain of this particular loss.

Grim made himself comfortable.  He is a cheeky guy, all in all.  But, I guess he didn't get Leisure Day off like the rest of us.

Papa had a good life.  But I think I'll miss him forever.

Autumn in Riverview!
« Reply #53 on: November 18, 2012, 12:34:06 PM »
I started out my official career the day after graduation.  After a few hours dressed like this:

I decided pretty resolutely to go ahead and gear up my career on the treadmill and not being heckled by people in the park.  It has been a good idea, so far.  There's nothing I love quite so much as working out until my whole body is a mixture of pumped and fatigued.

Soon I was advanced enough for the city to allow me to do the fun stuff in public.

The weather was noticeably cooling down.  Everyone else had taken on rabbit-hole careers.  Science for Tommen, acting for Geri, and journalism for my Gendry.  We were all helplessly busy all the time.  Rhaella found time to paint me for the Legacy gallery, but it was night time and I feel like we should try again in better light.

Tommen spends a lot of his nights in the new greenhouse the city built.  He reads about gardening around the plants and says he feels the sunlight and such much more keenly there.

Soon he might just be going there to keep warm.  We had our first frost.  The windows fogged up and a thin brittle layer of ice covered the ground.  Butler Lindy immediately set to scraping the leaves that had fallen from our cherry tree into uniform piles.

We also had a strange visitor checking out our newly frosted-over plants that night.  No one was brave enough to go ask him what he was doing, exactly.

The new fall festival was all browns and oranges like the leaves.  We had oodles of fun there.  I won this particular activity.

Tommen harvested some pumpkins from the patch and tried a pie made out of them.  He made some not-so-subtle hints to Aunt Rhaella that it's a recipe she should maybe learn.

Aunt Cersei made a beeline for the haunted shack thingie set up outside.  She came out with a big grin too.  I have the brave trait, but I didn't bother with it.  Instead I performed for tips while Geri and Tommen got all gross and lovey in public.

The weirdest thing happened, because I know he was going to propose at the festival, but suddenly he found he COULDN'T get engaged or married.  Maybe it was to do with the seasons or maybe his mom being Leader of the Free World created problems or something, but it couldn't happen.  He told her it didn't matter and they'd be together forever anyway.

I don't think she minded in the least.  In fact, they were talking about starting a family that very evening back at home.

Just to test things out (even though I'm not ready!) I tried to propose to Gendry myself.  And I couldn't either.  This may mean there will be no weddings for our generation.  Which means my superlative was off the money after all.  It is pretty disappointing, but there's still no reason not to enjoy life.  My mother certainly does.

We had a great big rainstorm a few days into fall and she enjoyed that too.

I used it as an opportunity to solicit the proprietor of the coffee house for my first gig.  She said yes!

Everything finally seemed to be getting back to normal.  Mom was excitedly planning a Spooky Day party with Aunt Rhaella, and then Grim made another unwelcome appearance.

Aunt Cersei seemed ready.  She told Mom to take care of Tommen and Geri and she went with an open mind.  Mom said she felt like part of her had gone with her twin.  "I'm next, you know," she said to me later, touching my hair.  "I'm next."

Spooky Day
« Reply #54 on: November 18, 2012, 12:57:51 PM »
We moved forward with Spooky Day despite the recent loss of Aunt Cersei.  We all put tons of effort into our costumes EXCEPT for my darling Gendry, who decided to be as unsettling as possible and change back into this:

He attempted to sneak up on Aunt Rhaella and scare her, but she just seemed amused by his antics.  He was even doing this goofy Imaginary Friend walk.

Rhaella was pretty lazy with her costume too.  She just wore her astronaut outfit and spent the entire party painting "Simday in the Park"

It was very cold outside, so my mermaid costume kept me indoors.

Geri busted out her old cheerleader uniform.

Mom and Tommen were a cat and a clown respectively.  Mom started doing catty dance moves when someone showed up in her outfit.

Lots of people brought delicious food.  There was way too much to eat!  And for some reason you can't store party food in the fridge, so it all went bad after the fact.

Aunt Vicky's costume was probably my favorite at the party.  But maybe I'm just a sucker for girly things.

Cousin Lysa and Rhaella's Genie friend (Danica?) seem to dislike each other like there's some history or something.  Weird.  Maybe Lysa had the lamp last.

Mom set out five pumpkins (Gendry didn't want to do one) for the household to carve Jack-o-Lanterns.

My favorite was probably Geri's.  She carved a ghost into hers.

Tommen!  Ugh, Tommen.  He messed up his first one so he stole Mom's!  Even though she was already queued up to carve it and on her way upstairs!

And to make matters worse, he messed that one up too!  Quick, pop quiz.  Spot Tommen's pumpkins.

Unbelievable.

Rhaella's new bff spent the night.  They seem to really enjoy each other's company.

Mom learned a new drink and made some for us the next day to help with the candy hangover.

Tommen went water sliding in his outerwear.  Who does that!

I caught Geri reading a maternity book.

And I warmed up by tossing some very sharp knives around in the ice lounge before heading to my very first gig!  Wish me luck!

New Homes
« Reply #55 on: November 20, 2012, 02:49:10 PM »
Mom and Geri showed up at the ice lounge to wish me luck before the show.  I begged them not to come to the actual venue, because I felt like it'd make me nervous.  They stayed behind to dance.

I set the stage with stones in my tummy and got ready to go, giving the audience a nice welcome bow.  In my nervousness, I forgot to save the stage set-up for later.

Once I got started, though, everything was okay.  Firstly, it takes a lot of concentration to master your body the way an acrobat has to.

And secondly, when you literally play with fire, you can't be worried with distractions (though the crowd seemed to love it!)

The show was a roaring success.  The next morning, I'd even get a phone call asking if I wanted a regular slot every Thursday, performing my act!  I couldn't have been happier, and Gendry was so proud of me.

It's no surprise to anyone that Geri is expecting a nooboo.  She is glowing with happiness and anticipation.

It's bittersweet, but now that she's expecting, Tommen has found them a house.  He wants to start his new family with lots of space and privacy, which is fair enough.

I'm going to miss them a lot.  I hugged Geri tight the day of their move and assured her that we'd be best friends forever.  Mom shelled out a (very) generous 90k for their new property, and told them to keep everything in their inventories, plus a few items from Aunt Cersei's trunk.

I said goodbye to nooboo Charlie too.  That's what they're going to name him.

I haven't been to visit yet, but Geri texted me a photo of the new place.  It's really swanky and futuristic looking.  And of course Mom had vetted the property before they signed anything.

Notice the snow!  Winter fell on us very suddenly, but it's beautiful, isn't it?  Gendry and I have been practicing our snowman making skills.

"Don't worry," he's saying.  "It will at least look better than a Tommen Targaryen jack-o-lantern."

Too right.  Tommen we spotted at the winter festival building a pretty decent looking igloo, though.

Mom used the festival to finally finish her lifetime wish of being super popular.  She trudged around in knee-deep snow and made something like seven friends in one day.

When we got home that night, someone had trashed our little snowman.  I was unamused.

My suspicions are with this random blonde woman who likes to peep in our windows and shout at us.  She is not a paparazzi, so we don't really know what she wants, but we're not engaging her.

Should've built a gate around the house back when it was in its design stages, but the Watcher of Lady Nym's days had no sense for these things and is only just now getting around to giving us the inspiration for decent looking rooms, much less construction that doesn't resemble a lunchbox.

It is our lunchbox, though, and it still looks enchanting in the snow.

Mom bought out Verde Park and upgraded it nicely.

When we can't find her, it usually means she's there.  Either being a normal, sweet old lady...

... or, you know, shredding sick air with the local teen boys.

That's my mother.  She's sort of my hero.

After Geri and Tommen moved out, I decided the time was ripe to gut out the original "hut" area of the house and make it less dark and oppressive.  I did my best here.

I might add some rugs or something later on, but for now I quite like the clean, utilitarian feel of it.  Mom approves and once it was done, we spent some quality time reading together on the new couch under the watchful eye of a long-ago Aunt Cersei.

Rhaella was up to something.  We weren't sure if this was an effort to keep her genie friend warm or if she was attempting genie-cide. (ha.  puns.)

Turns out she was attempting to free Danica from the bonds of servitude.  Danica seemed suspicious that it would work, but loved Rhaella for trying anyway.

Well, my great-great-etc. aunt is nothing if not tenacious.  She headed into the cemetery in the dead of night with the lamp and descended into the catacombs.

She won't say what she was doing down there, but when she got out, the skies rumbled and Danica was freed.

She has moved in with us, for now, and taken a job as a teacher at Truelong.  She's also finally allowed to cut her hair and pick out her own clothes.  She is cute as a button.

She's also trying out online dating to get to know the local men.  I don't think it has been a particularly positive experience so far, even though her profile is entirely accurate!

But the changes weren't done.  No, I don't mean Rhaella's new addiction to the Simlife goggles.  She does enjoy her dragon slaying though.

I mean THIS!  Nooboo incoming.

All the Gifts of Snowflake Day
« Reply #56 on: November 20, 2012, 03:08:03 PM »
Why are Rhaella's snowmen cooler than mine?

Ah well.  We both have the athletic trait.  I want a hockeysnowman too!  Snowflake Day was still several days away when Mom decided to throw our gift-giving party.  She said she didn't want me going into labor in the middle of the event, so we might as well do it now.  Gendry suggested that I was getting too big to be housing a nooboo, and made a bunch of guesses as to what was really gestating in there.

The party went really well.  A genie we don't know showed up and hit on Rhaella pretty heavily, and Danica met one of her online buddies.  I don't think there was any chemistry there.  She got a pretty rude note from him in the mail a few days later.

The gift-giving was a hectic affair.  Apparently everyone wanted the sofa, even though there's ample seating in the hut.

Rhaella deliberately cut off the rude guy Danica invited and smugly refused to move while he tried to find somewhere to sit.

Tommen and Geri came, but left little Charlie with a babysitter.  It was wonderful to see them.  They brought an easel for Rhaella (two apparently isn't enough!) and a collector's chess table for Danica.

Someone brought Mom a plastic yard flamingo.  She ... was not a fan.

The party was a roaring success, but exhausted all of us.  I did make a point to steal a mistletoe kiss from my love before bed, though.

Later, it'd seem sort of fitting that the very last thought my mother had was that her party had been incredible.  Because that was her last night with us.

She had known she was going soon.  She might have even known it was today, which explains the party being held early.  But it's still horrible to lose her.

She begged Grim to please let her know if my nooboo is a boy or a girl, which as far as begging goes, seems pretty okay.  Then she sighed and smiled at us, reminded us how much she misses her sister and husband, and dove into the urn.  Farewell, my dear mom.  Her tombstone reads, "Catelyn - The Watcher's Favorite Sim Ever."

I turned to Grim very coldly while he congratulated me on my pregnancy.  "Could you not vanish in a puff of coal this time and leave dust everywhere?" I snapped.

He hung his head sheepishly and walked down the stairs and outside to vanish.  I felt sort of bad for the guy afterward.

It makes me wonder if he has anyone to share Snowflake Day with.

Things got back to normal fairly fast.  We used the moodlet manager to help with our grief and it warmed us all to see how much Danica was enjoying her newfound freedom.  She particularly loved the snow.

I went into labor while at the spa, which I hear is pretty common.

I gave birth to a genius who loves the cold.  I had wished for a girl, but this little boy was perfection embodied.  His name is Petyr.

Gendry picked us up from the hospital in the limo, which seemed a bit excessive, but was a nice reprieve from the cold, all the same.

He called into work so he could snuggle little Petyr all day long.

This might seem a bit tough on myself, but I immediately hit the fitness routine again.  Hard.  I worked out for eight solid hours the day after Petyr was born.

Geri and Tommen came over to meet the little guy and brought some pie.

Danica continued enjoying life, and doing incredibly well at Truelong as a teacher (though not so very well at being an online bachelorette).

She and Rhaella stayed very close and often would work side-by-side either cooking or upgrading (they both have skill points in both).

I spent every moment I wasn't getting back into shape loving on my nooboo.

When it was time for him to age up, however, Rhaella did the honors.  That was family tradition, after all.

He aged up with big blue eyes, like Grandad Rickard's.  He's such a cutie!

Since he loves the cold, we outfitted him in adorable toddler outwear and I promised him we'd make it to the winter festival before it ended.  He aged up on Snowflake day itself.  I think that's a good sign for the life to come.

Our First Springtime
« Reply #57 on: November 21, 2012, 01:18:46 PM »
We had really lucked out with little Petyr.  He's an exceptionally well behaved little boy.

He almost never fusses, and he takes to his lessons with enthusiasm.  I suppose that's the genius in him.  When he's not learning to speak or to walk or to potty, he is quiet and content playing in the nursery.

Rhaella, like she does with so many children, has taken an instant shine to him.  She loves reading him to sleep.

And making snarky comments about how we should charge for admission while teaching my son to speak.

If I didn't know better, I'd think she never leaves the nursery.  In very sparse private moments, I sometimes wonder if the little guy knows which one of us is Mama.

Spring came slowly, thawing out the thick layer of snow and ice that had blanketed riverview.  Our house slowly began to reveal itself again.  With it came amusing changes, like our slowly sagging igloo, and also some painful ones - like the discovery that the stereo outside had been muffled under feet of snow, but was still on, still belting Mom's favorite station.

With Spring came the revelation of just who that genie at our Snowflake Day party was.  Rhaella didn't think the time was right, what with the sudden loss of Mom, to tell us she'd acquired another lamp, and intended to free another genie from servitude.  We think her relationship with this one might be a bit ... different than the one she has with Danica, however.

The weirdest thing is that the genie's name is Jeramie ... which is the same name as her vampire lover from several centuries ago, albeit a different spelling.  In any sense, it's put her in a spectacular mood, even though she hasn't managed to free him just yet.  She did her traditional honors of carrying Petyr to his child birthday cake on the first official day of Spring.

Of course we all cheered and carried on.

You may notice I've put on some weight.  That's not important right now.  Look at my little nooboo blow out his own candles!
He was adorably horrified to lose his little baby-hair fauxhawk and age up bald as an egg.

He slapped his hands over his bald pate and dashed off to the mirror to see to himself, while we all had a good chuckle and helped ourselves to his cake.

To celebrate the day, we headed to the festival opening day to check out what treats Spring would hold.  Rhaella, much to our shock, decided to man the kissing booth.  She became a proper coquette too!

She left before all of us, about $50 richer.  Danica and Petyr tried out the horseshoe game.  I think she was beating him fairly soundly, but neither will tell.

Afterward, they had a post-game treat in the too-well-lit dining area upstairs.  Grasshopper Pie and a marshmallow bunny.

Later, Petyr told me he'd spotted that famous actress, Geri T. and taken a cell phone photo of her.  Silly boy.  He doesn't know she's part of the family!  I made note to throw a big party as soon as ... you know ... my weight came off.

Gendry and I didn't do any of the exciting stuff.  We danced outside, chatting softly and sharing exciting predictions about our growing family.

I stopped by a few venues on the way home to pick up our real estate earnings.  I didn't even have to walk INTO the spa, just stand near it for this to start up.

Right when I was finally about to meet little Charlie, too!

Anyway, I managed to get a cab to the hospital and Gendry met me there.  Which was lucky, because I had an armful to deal with.  Petyr was pretty freaked out, so Danica let him sleep in our old room (which she has been using since we moved upstairs into the Chinese bedroom) and read him logic books until he snoozed.

I was on the other side of town, meeting Sansa, who is friendly and easily impressed.

And surprise!  Bran, who is also friendly, and loves the heat.

Twins and Toddlers

Boy.  Twins are a LOT of work.  Especially when you weren't planning for them.  Neither Gendry or I have fertility treatments or listen to kids' music or anything.  But here they are, regardless.  And they are wonderful, even if we never sleep.

I am over the moon about finally having a darling little girl, but another son is a gift as well, and I spend ample time with them both.

Since my hours are so flexible, I do the bulk of the heavy lifting, but Gendry tries to be as involved as possible.  Especially at the weekend, we split our responsibilities evenly.

Sometimes I do catch Gendry up in the dead of night seeing to a dirty diaper or a hungry spell.  He often looks fairly zombified in the process.  Which is as endearing as you'd imagine.

Danica has sworn off online dating and will tell anyone who will listen.

I've also caught her playing with the time machine.  I hope she's sticking to the future after Rhaena's warning note, which seems to have fallen off sometime since I last looked, as a child.

The twins aged up while everyone, even Rhaella, was at work or school.  It was just me in the nursery with my nooboos while they had their sparkles.

They are the cutest toddlers imaginable.  Sansa's wardrobe is themed in her favorite color, Lilac.

Bran's favorite is forest green, but he also has a giant thing for dinosaurs, so we stuck with a compromise.  I was shocked to see how much like Gendry he looked!  (Maybe I'd allowed myself a big head thinking all my nooboos would take after me).

They. are. so. cute.

Bran loves hiding from us in the toy box.  We always pretend we can't find him while he giggles in delight.

Sansa loves to learn and is always at the peg box or reading the picture books we leave on the floor for her.

Rhaella not only has taken a firm hand in their skills building, I also caught her SLEEPING IN THE NURSERY a few nights ago!  Call it penance for missing the birthdays, I suppose.

To avoid going stir crazy, Danica and I hit the spring festival in its final days.  She took advantage of the kissing booth.

While I learned to skate backwards.

Petyr was doing wonderfully in school, and I made a point to wake up early enough every single morning to have breakfast with my two big men before the toddlers took over my day.

Petyr has spent several days after school hunting eggs at the festival grounds.  I think he's been pretty lucky so far.

He even found us a new breed of gnome, which then promptly duplicated.

My mother would always talk wistfully about how her Gran loved/hated gnomes.  Is it strange to feel nostalgic about a woman you only know through her portrait?

Now that they're in school together, Charlie and Petyr are the best of friends.  He comes over all the time with Geri for lazy afternoons at the house.

Though sometimes I think Charlie's a bit freaked out by how comfortable we all are around each other.

The twins are definitely more demanding and fussy than Petyr ever was.  Sansa in particular throws a FIT if we're not fast enough when she wants something.

And Bran is skeptical in general of his lessons.

My Petyr is still so well behaved, even if a bit strange.  He seems to prefer Aunt Cersei's old room, even though right now he's sleeping in the black and white room.  We catch him in there often, usually reading steamy romance novels, which is odd for a young boy.

I encourage Sansa to be a little lady, which she understands now that she can talk.  I still regularly catch her doing this.

Though she has the grace to be sheepish afterward.

Bran is an attentive learner, though not as fast as his sister.  His determination is adorable, and I think bodes well for his future.

I explain to Sansa about her relatives.  Particularly Rickard, as I find him the most interesting of the bunch.

I don't think I've ever been happier.

Back to Summer

So, it turns out Danica absolutely was going into the past.  A few days ago, she flew out of the machine dressed like this.

And surprise!  She was not alone.

His name is Ken and she claims he's an orphan she saved from a carriage accident.  Who is blue.  And named Ken.  Sure thing Danica.  Ken and Petyr get along very well.

Though we've insisted it isn't necessary, Danica has decided to move out into a new home to raise her son.  Like with Tommen and Geri, we provided the funds and purchased them the terraced house by the river.  We have more money than we could ever spend anyway.

The house seems so much more sedate without Danica, but there's still excitement to be had.

Rhaella and I have bonded quite a bit over our skills teaching.  We like to spend downtime together too.  It's weird because we were super close when I was a kid, but I guess she relates a bit more difficultly to adults.

Sansa spends every spare moment reading.

While Bran begs to be taken outside on the regular.  Rhaella often allows it, even if she comes back smelling like smoked meat.

Speaking of which, we bought a new station for her garden as a gift.  She really likes the composter, and it came with this cute sunflower that gives everyone a lovely "here comes the sun moodlet."  Everyone except for Rhaella.  She HATES it.  I caught her kicking it once.

Petyr, bless him, aged up to a teen while playing tag with Ken.  I felt like such a neglectful parent.

After a trip to the mirror, he turned out handsomely.

Since it doesn't require driving lessons, he has taken Rickard's bicycle out of storage.  He looks much less confident than I picture granddad looking on that thing, though.

He took care of everything for the twins' birthday.  He even carried them downstairs.  He's such a responsible young man.  The family turned out, each bringing some food.

And my twins were sooo anxious for their first bite of cake.

Here they are as children.  As always Sansa has chosen lilac.  She developed the "natural born star" trait.  I'm not surprised.

And forest green for my Bran, who is now a daredevil.

Rhaella was once again at work, so her boyfriend hung around learning bass until she got home.

Petyr took his sister to the festival for an hour, but she complained later that he spent the whole time doing homework.  I told her we'd all go back on Leisure Day.

So when Leisure Day rolled around, I made good on my promise!

We ran into Tommen, who has gone totally bald in his middle age.

While the kids had an epic water balloon fight.

Now, don't go thinking boys against girls isn't fair.  My daughter won this particular war.

Her brothers were unsure if they were proud or ashamed.

Gendry and I went back to the soccer field.  I've improved in my old age, I'd say!  Check out this block.

All in all, it was an excellent day of family bonding.
