« on: November 25, 2012, 06:25:53 PM »
HP ENVY dv6z-7200 Notebook PC

Operating system: Windows 8 64

Processor   : AMD Dual-Core A6-4400M (3.0GHz/2.6GHz, 1MB L2 Cache)

Graphics card: AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7600 Series Discrete-Class

Memory: 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Hard drive: 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive

Primary battery: 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

I am looking for a new laptop and I need to know if this will run The Sims 3 good. I have almost all the expansion packs and want to get Seasons and Supernatural. Is there anyhing I could change?

Hi, Ally.

Are you planning to purchase this online? If so, do you have a link to the laptop's page? I'd be interested to know what the exact model of Radeon card it comes with. There are a number of cards in the Radeon 7600 series and the exact model number would tell me whether it's a good card or a mediocre card. :)

Also, if your budget can handle it, I'd recommend a quad-core processor for the game, but that's just me. The actual processor in the system isn't too bad.

Would the AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M (3.0GHz/2.1GHz, 4MB L2 Cache) Be good enough? Or would I need higher then that?

Hi, Ally. That would work well. Also, I would suggest spending the $50 for the 8 GB memory, the $50 for the 1 GB Radeon card, and the $19 for the recovery discs. If you can't afford both the memory and the graphics card, prioritize the graphics card. You can always buy memory later.

Hope this helps. :)
