Scouts sign up

So, I can't seem to sign my kids up for afterschool activities. I'm trying to sign up my sim child in Twinbrook for scouts but for some reason it's greyed out on the computer. The option comes up but to choose scouts or ballet is grey. Am I doing something wrong? He's an A student and in a great mood but it won't let him. Can anyone help?

how many days until he ages up? it's possible that it is greyed out because he is too close to becoming a teen to be able to join.

Yeah, that makes sense. It was only 2 days to age up to teen. Maybe I can still get his little brother to join up. Thanks for the reply.
