Windows blue screen of death, only happens when playing The Sims 3.

I play the game, it freezes up then the blue screen appears and my computer restarts. I do use the internet when I play The Sims 3, but I have for a long time. The internet crashes first, then the game freezes, I've never had this problem before.
Edit: It doesn't do this with other games, I can play a game called Black Mesa which would have the same dedicated video memory requirement, but it works fine, besides a little lag.

I know these things can be caused by a lot of different circumstances, but have you cleaned off the fan lately? My PC has been getting steadily noisier and probably running slower too. Yesterday it booted me out of Sims twice. Then I remembered that I used to have a note in the CD case of my Sims 2 game to remind me if I kept getting booted out it was time to clean the fan.
I got Twindad to take the tower up to the shed, open it and hit it with the compressed air to clean it. Since then, the computer is silent and I haven't been kicked out again.

This is what it said, I have 4 GB of memory, I have all the requirements to play the game, I've had it crash like this before, but never like this. I can play games that require the same about of memory as The Sims 3 and they don't crash.

Try updating your Graphics Driver through Device Manager in Control Panel.

I tried it and there was a update, I updated it. I haven't played the game yet, but I will.

Another error in the file is that you're running out of memory. Make sure you go completely out of the game every couple of hours or so to refresh your computer's memory. That should help alleviate the crashing as well.
