The Victor Immortal Dynasty - Graveyard Please
« on: January 13, 2013, 02:48:51 AM »
With very great apologies to a camp song I knew as a child, Camp Granada, here is the start of the dynasty attempt presented by the very pink and purple 'Cosette Victor', my dynasty founder.

Yes, I kind of messed up the Ostraiya Dynasty. (Big surprise there, I know). I had a brain explosion and decided it would be the thing to do to bring in three of the four Bunch Children and I allowed Darlene to breed. *SHUDDER*. I was up to a household of 7, and the forthcoming Bunch child would have made it 8.

Hi there, forum reader,
My name is, Cosette Victor,
You see, My Watcher, in desperation,
Started anew to get past one generation.

I'm a savvy sculptor, and artistic,
Perfectionist, with eyes photographic,
I hate the outdoors, a shame really,
As I won't get to see the sights of Sunset Valley.

On the first day, I entered the home,
of Morgana and her husband Thornton,
Both left their jobs, to do my museum items,
And I sold their car and laptops for many simeloens.

Thornton sculpts, both day and night,
Morgana adopted a son and paints alright,
I need to max photographing and painting,
And supermax the skill and career of sculpting.

A renaissance sim, oh forum reader,
My watcher's dim, oh forum reader,
He makes his founders tasked,
With jobs, that no sim should be asked ...

Wait a minute, my YA portrait's painted,
When Morgana photographed me, I almost fainted,
I've maxed photography and the skill of sculpting,
And I'm fast learning how to max painting.

Neither Fishing, Cooking nor Gardening has of yet commenced,
And there is no one, that I have romanced,
And my sculpting career is stuck at level six,
Until my painting's maxed then my sculpting will be fixed.

But you see I, I still have ten days,
Before I have my second last of birthdays,
And then a few weeks 'til I'm an elder,
Oh won't you please stay and read on forum reader?

Deklitch, I'm glad you're persistent - I've found your Dynasties uniformly entertaining, no matter how short-lived. Here's to hoping this one is your success!

Re: The Victor Immortal Dynasty - Thornton's Lament (aka Sculptor's Lament)
« Reply #3 on: January 13, 2013, 09:39:50 PM »
Thornton asked to provide his view on things. So I decided to give him the chance. I also allowed him to pick up a Motive Mobile once he completed his changed LTW of Renaissance Sim (Photography (Tab), Sculpting and Nectar Making (Tab)). No more coffee for him, Morganna or Cosette. :)

Valley 'Neath a Cloud
by Thornton Wolff
(With apologies to Les Miserables)

There is a Valley 'neath a cloud
I like to go there after coffee I've gulped,
Aint a single ice sculpture for me to sculpt
Not in my Valley 'neath a cloud

There are no rooms filled with ice,
There is not a single pick or chainsaw,
Sculpting at all is not allowed,
Not in my Valley 'neath a cloud

There is the founder, in purple and pink,
Washing the dishes in the sink,
She paints and she sculpts and she photographs,
She smiles and sighs and melts me when she laughs.

I know a place where I won't sculpt,
I know a place where I have no ice,
Sculpting at all is not allowed,
Not in my Valley 'neath a cloud.

Thanks Louise and Cathy. No more Bunches for me and I have a good feeling for this one

Ah, I must say, this start has tickled me to death, I love Les Mis, and I personally love Thorton's rendition of Castle on a Cloud. I look forward to reading more of this, here's another forum reader for you Cosette!

You're correct there, Louise.

I'm pleased you enjoy what I did with that song, Corey. I've long been a fan of Les Mis, myself.

Latest update -
Morganna achieved her changed LTW, she became a visionary (Phtography from TABCast and Painting). She used it to pick up a collection finder.
Despite Thornton's protestations about sculpting, he is a Chiselmaster and an Ice Personality. He's only 3 sculptures away from being a prolific sculptor. He aged up to full adulthood at his sculpting station. I changed Thornton into a witch and had him learn alchemy.
Cosette has her three Young Adult pieces completed (6 days before becoming an adult). She is at level 8 of painting to go with her maxed skills of Sculpting (to be supermax and maxed career) and photography. (She needs 10 painting for her LTW of Renaissance Sim). Cosette has so far finished 1 of her six black ops (Sculpture for a Friend - Hank Goddard) and has been rewarded with one of her three unique LTRs (Fast Learner). She also has Simmunity and Steel Bladder (which I'm not counting as uniques). Friends and Building/Property will be worried about later. :)
Hugh Jack Wolff (adopted by Morganna and Thornton as child) came to me with Brave, Artistic and Angler. During childhood I basically allowed him to play, gave him a tabcast and had him do fishing tabcasts/homework on it between riding the rocking horse and changing into costumes. He aged up well and I gave him Green Thumb. He rolled up the Renaissance Sim LTW and his skills are going to be fishing/gardening/cooking (at this stage, anyway). He's at level 7 gardening (with life plants planted and growing) and cooking and gardening at 4 and 5 respectively.

Now out of sympathy to all our skill slaves at the start of Immortal Dynasties, I give to you "The Skill Slaves Lament" to the tune of the opening song from Les Miserables (with great apologies to all who were involved in the musical or the movie version of the musical). It features Thornton, Morganna and Hugh Jack Wolf as well as my founder, my seeker self with a special guest appearance of two regular skill slaves - Agnes and Christopher. I do hope you enjoy, or at least don't come after me with pitchforks! :)

The Skill Slaves Lament
[Skill Slaves]
Skill On, Skill On,
Don’t catch the watcher’s eye

[Watcher]
Skill On, Skill On,
You’ll skill until you die

[Thornton]
The ice is cold
It’s getting up my nose,

[Watcher]
Sculpt On, Sculpt On
You’ve many more to go

[Morganna]
I want to work!
Dear Watcher, why make me paint?

[Watcher]
Paint On, Paint On
You’re artistic and will paint 'til you faint!

[Agnes/Chris]
We’re pleased for once
There’s naught for us to do!

[Watcher]
Walk On, Walk On,
I could find a space for you

[Agnes/Chris]
We’re out of here, Ya won’t see us
Here for dust!

[Skill Slaves]
Skill On, Skill On,
Don’t catch the Watcher’s eye

[Cosette]
How long, Watcher
Before I’ve a small fry?

[Skill Slaves]
Skill On, Skill On
We’re naught but skill slaves,

[Watcher]
Skill On, Skill On
You’re standing in your graves

[Watcher]
Now bring me the adopted child you have,
His childhood is up
And his teenage days begun
You know what that means...

[Hugh]
Yes, it means I’ll date

[Watcher]
No!
It means you get
To skill gardening and cooking
To go with angling

[Hugh]
I want to date!

[Watcher]
You could be sent to boarding school...

[Hugh]
*Sigh*
I’m Brave and Artistic and an Angler as well
And look I’ve got a Green Thumb truth to tell.

[Watcher]
You will become a natural cook too ...
Then when you are a young adult

[Hugh]
And then I will date someone
When I'm a young adult

[Watcher]
I will control who you wed
Your future is already mapped out
Yes, adopted Wolff Son

[Hugh]
My name is Hugh Jack Wolff

[Watcher]
And I’m the Watcher
Do not forget my name!
Do not forget me,
Adopted Wolff Son

[Skill Slaves]
Skill On, Skill On
We’re naught but skill slaves,

[Watcher]
Skill On, Skill On
You’re standing in your graves.

I like this start! You were wildly fortunate with Hugh Jack's traits! Since he's Brave he will not mind fishing in the graveyard. Ah you couldn't have planned that better. I believe this is the one! Keep going Dek!

The update in which Cosette finds love...

Thanks Rosa, yes, I was pretty chuffed with Hugh's traits. I believe this one is the one as well.

Thanks Louise, I *almost* feel sorry for them.

My "delightful" computer stopped working. Almost $400 later I got it back again and working, better than ever. It turned out that it was the cpu, the motherboard and the power supply. Either the CPU and motherboard zapped the power supply or the power supply zapped the CPU and motherboard. Unlike last time, this time I didn't have to reload things and I didn't lose my saved games. YAY!

Latest Update
Cosette Victor is now an adult and has achieved her LTW (Renaissance Sim – Painting, Photography and Sculpting) and purchased her three unique LTRs (Artisan Crafter, Moodlet Manager and Fast Learner). Supermaxing Sculpting is going well – she has at least five statues of each material (except for metal), with 27 or so sculptures in total. She is at level 7 in her career (Self Employed Sculptor) and has completed three of her six black ops (Sculpture for a friend, Larger than Necessary Door Stop and High Quality Delivery). Additionally, she has bought her property (Summer Hill Springs – fully upgraded)and her building (Gypsy Wagon). She got a couple of friendship potions and tossed them at Hugh Jack Wolff, became best friends with him, got engaged, married and celebrated their marriage by enjoying a joint shower. Based on the music played afterwards, she needs to force-eat apples. Additionally, she is now a five star celebrity. It kind of just happened and really took me by surprise.

Morganna Wolff has been painting up a storm and has now supermaxed painting in her own right. She is still painting but she's also helping her son in the indoor garden. She's also doing guitar (for the purposes of accompanying Hugh Jack Wolff to the graveyard of an evening for him to catch deathfish while he was a teen). Thornton's motive mobile helps enormously with that.

Thornton Wolff has been sculpting up a storm and has now supermaxed sculpting. He became a witch through the use of a potion and is kind of working on alchemy. I also gave him the mid life crisis reward and made him into a savvy sculpture and born salesman. Interesting thing happened, he had started a stone sculpture before his mid life crisis reward and was still sculpting it after he had taken that reward. The statue cracked into a gem, so it must rely on their status at the time the sculpture is commenced (he did get a rainbow gem out of it though).

Hugh Jack Victor (nee Wolff) has become a Young Adult and received Natural Born Cook as his final trait. He remained on the honour roll. He elected not to go to his prom and instead spent the night sleeping in order for his nightly post midnight appointment at the graveyard with his mother. Bella Bachelor became kind of interested in him, but he ended up looking closer to home for a wife. He is going to get a job as a chef and go for that great fridge that's available to five star chefs.

So now I hand you over to Hugh and Cosette (and Bella) ...

A Heart Full of Love
(By Hugh Jack Wolff, Cosette Victor and featuring Bella Bachelor)
[HUGH]
A heart full of love,
A heart full of song,
I'm doing everything all wrong,
Oh Watcher, for shame,
Will sims say I’m doing it for fame,
Dearest Cosette,
Do you feel the same?
Will you tell?
[COSETTE]
A heart full of love
No fear, no regret
[HUGH]
I’m finally a young adult
[COSETTE]
How I’ve been waiting for this day
[HUGH]
Cosette, I don't know what to say
[COSETTE]
Then make no sound
[HUGH]
I am lost
[COSETTE]
I am found!
[HUGH]
A heart full of light
[COSETTE]
A night bright as day
[HUGH]
And you must never go away
Cosette, Cosette
[COSETTE]
This is a chain we'll never break
[HUGH]
Do I dream?
[COSETTE]
I'm awake!
[HUGH]
A heart full of love
[BELLA [outside, interjecting]]
He was never mine to lose
[COSETTE]
A heart full of you
[BELLA]
Why regret what could not be?
[HUGH]
A single look and then I knew.
[BELLA]
These are words he'll never say
[COSETTE]
I knew it too.
[BELLA]
Not to me...
[HUGH]
From today...
[BELLA]
Not to me...
[COSETTE]
Every day
[BELLA]
Not for me...
[COSETTE & HUGH]
For it isn't a dream
[BELLA]
His heart full of love
[COSETTE & HUGH]
Not a dream
[BELLA]
He will never
[COSETTE & HUGH]
After all!
[BELLA]
Feel this way...

The Update Which Proves This Watcher hasn't learned much ...

Latest Updates:-
Cosette Victor - 1 day away from being an elder, only her elder museum pieces and 3 best friends to go. She has the friendship potions and she isn't away to toss them at sims. She had a son with Hugh named Gavroche. She spends her days alternating between painting, sculpting and photographing, with sculpting as her supermaxed skill. I'm having photographing and painting as skills any of my immortals can do.

Stats - Cosette Victor; Adult, 1 day from Elder
Unique LTW - Renaissance Sim (Sculpting, Painting, Photographing) achieved; Unique LTRs - Moodlet Manager, Artisan Crafter, Fast Learner; Unique Supermax Skill - Sculpting achieved; Unique Maxed Career - Self Employed Sculptor (Level 10); 6 Black Ops - (Sculpture for a friend, Larger than Necessary Doorstop, High Quality Delivery,  Fresco Fest, Broadway Cameo, An Old Ruse); 6 Best Friends - Hugh Victor (Husband), Gavroche Victor (Son), Thornton Wolff (Father-In-Law), (Targeting Best Friends are Morganna Wolff (Mother-In-Law), Xander Clavell (Black Op), Cycl0n3 Sw0rd (Black Op); Building - Gypsy Wagon; Property - Summer Hill Springs; Museum Pieces - All three done for YA and Adult, waiting to become Elder for final elder pieces and then ambrosia/death flower time.

Gavroche Victor - 3 days away from becoming a teen. He got an imaginary friend doll as a nooboo, named her Nicole Childguy and developed the relationship to make her into an imaginary friend. His grandma, Morganna raised Logic and learned the Imaginary Friend potion which he used to change Nicole into a real sim. She has delightful green hair, which will go well with his pink eyes, I hope. Following Thornton's mid-life-crisis LTR, Morganna and Thornton decided to try for a baby boy. They achieved their wish and named their new son 'Rusty Galah Wolff'. Gavroche is two days older than his uncle. Gavroche's supermax will be cooking, but unlike his father, he is not going into a culinary career. He is instead raising painting and I'm intending for him to be a self-employed painter. He has "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" for his LTW. His traits are artistic, excitable and friendly. His childhood week coincides with the 2nd week of Winter. As luck had it, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were all declared snow days and Thursday was the day of the Snow Day Holiday. By late Tuesday, however, he was an A student in school thanks to the one on one tutoring focus from his Grandma and her level 10 logic skill.

Stats - Gavroche Victor; Child, 3 days from teen
Unique LTW - Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, Unique LTRs - ; Unique Supermax Skill - Cooking; Unique Maxed Career - Self Employed Painter; 6 Black Ops - ; 6 Best Friends - Cosette Victor (mother), Rusty Galah Wolff (uncle), Nicole Childguy Victor (imaginary friend turned real); Building - none yet; Property - none yet; Museum Pieces - All three done for Toddler and Child.

For the non-immortals, I'll just write up what they have gotten up to from oldest to youngest.

Thornton Wolff - elder at 80 days. He's been a great help in powering through the sculpting. He has one more sculpture to go of Cosette. He has also done some alchemy and even dabbled in logic and photography. I've never used him before this attempt and if I get the chance will definitely use him again. Oh, did I mention that he supermaxed sculpting and picked up a Motive Mobile for the Victors? He even named it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Morganna Wolff - elder at 74 days. She has surpassed all my expectations and she even solved the issue I was having with regards to all the snow days. I had never previously achieved any of the logic challenges with the exception of the potions challenge before, and I wasn't really sure exactly how the tutor a child interaction worked and so forth. Morganna supermaxed painting and now continues to pump out the master pieces which are currently hanging around the house. She has supplied us with not one, but two collection helpers.

Hugh Jack Victor - 4 days from adult. He has maxed cooking, gardening and fishing and grew, caught and learned everything that's needed for ambrosia. He is working as a chef. Prior to completing his Renaissance sim LTW, he drank a wish enhancing elixir which meant he could pick up a food replicator with the LTHPs. During Autumn and Winter he has been painting and doing a bit of sculpting.

Nicole Childguy Victor - 3 days from becoming a teen. She is an ex-imaginary friend who has become a real sim. I am unsure what to do with her, I'll probably have her learn handiness (she is at level 3 on the blocks table, anyway).

Rusty Galah Wolff - 5 days from becoming a teen. He is the much younger brother of Hugh and is even younger than his nephew, Gavroche. He is a little genius who learned all he could from the peg blocks and logic books as a toddler and is following suit with the blocks table (can anyone say Tinkerer LTW?) Oh, and he is a witch, taking after his father.

Yeah...that doesn't completely compute - Cosette and Gavroche have the same maxed career written down - which makes me think that neither career is unique.
