The Holsinger Legacy

The Holsinger Legacy is a 10 generation speed legacy that I have started using my Simself and the Simself of my real life husband, Travis. Each generation will have children that are named after different people in our family.

The Speed Legacy was created by camimh and is posted over at the official Sims 3 forums. The basic concept is to successfully have 10 generations using the shortest lifespan possible. It definitely creates some interesting challenges! Below is the breakdown that I am using.

Baby –> 2 days

Toddler –> 2 days

Child –> 2 days

Teen –> 3 days

Young Adult –> 6 days

Adult –> 5 days

Elder –> 4 days


The Beginning -- Generation 1

Meet Carrie (the founder) and her husband, Travis. They live at 29 Verona Way in Monte Vista and both started out as young adults.



Carrie’s lifetime wish is to become a Culinary Librarian. Her cooking skill level is currently up to 4 and she has learned all of the recipes up to that level. It’s been quite a challenge working on her skills while having babies and aging up faster than usual. Travis’s lifetime wish is to become Master of the Arts. His painting and guitar skills are currently at level 5.

This is how their home started out. Pretty much just a roof over their heads with just the necessities. Travis is currently working as a Lab Tech in the Science field and sells his paintings for extra income, while Carrie stays home and takes care of the kids.

Generation 2

Travis and Carrie’s first child was a girl named Lauren. She is currently a young adult still living at home and working as an Organ Donor. Her lifetime wish is to become a World Renowned Surgeon. She also has a boyfriend named Goopy GilsCarbo.











Shortly after their daughter was born, Carrie and Travis had a son named Ethan. He is currently a teenager and will be graduating from high school soon. I have chosen Ethan as the heir.

Aging Up

Travis and Carrie have both turned into elders. These days, they focus on their skills and providing a nice home for their kids. They have both come to terms with the fact that the end is near. They aren’t sad though and are spending their remaining time enjoying the company of their family and doing the various activities they weren’t able to do when they were younger.











Their home has been expanded slightly and they have been able to purchase a few new items.



Lauren will be getting married and moving out pretty soon, so it will be up to Ethan to keep the Holsinger family going.

Tragedy Strikes

Tragedy has struck the Holsinger household. Grimmy has come to visit Travis.





Ethan and Lauren comfort their mother.



Even though his father has just passed, Ethan graduates from high school and becomes a young adult. He is recruited into the Monte Vista police force as a Snitch and will be working toward his lifetime wish of Dynamic DNA Profiler. Ethan also has a girlfriend named Krista Monty, one of his classmates from high school.





Lauren’s birthday is coming up soon and since her Medical career is going so well (she has been promoted to Bedpan Cleaner), she has decided to move out on her own. However, it’s proving to be quite difficult as all of the houses that are available to rent are way out of her price range. Goopy GilsCarbo has been sending Lauren gifts and showing lots of interest in her. Maybe it would be best to move in with him for a little while or perhaps move to a new town for a fresh start. After a lot of searching and waiting, a new house finally becomes available for Lauren to rent at 30 Stratford Street in Monte Vista.





Carrie took Travis’s death very badly and has been dealing with a lot of heartbreak. After laying him to rest at Restful Mausoleum, Carrie dedicated herself to maxing out her cooking skills and learning all of the recipes she could. After achieving her lifetime wish of The Culinary Librarian, Carrie got a job at Delfina’s Diner as a Kitchen Scullion.

Generation 3

Ethan and his girlfriend Krista decided to make it official and have tied the knot. She is working as a Test Subject in the Science career track and he has earned a promotion to Desk Jockey. Krista’s lifetime wish is to become a Hit Movie Composer.





Ethan and Krista have had two children, a boy named Lucas and a girl named Lexie. I have chosen Lexie as the heir. Lucas is currently a teenager with a B average in high school and Lexie is getting ready to start her first day of elementary school.













Carrie is still around and enjoying the company of her grandchildren. She has mastered the cooking skill and is working as a Spice Runner in the Culinary career track.

Moving On

Ethan has turned into a full adult. Both he and Krista have 3 days until they will be turning into elders.



Lucas and Lexie have been enjoying each other’s company and have both aged up into a handsome young adult and a beautiful teen. Lucas has chosen to become the CEO of a Mega-Corporation and Lexie will be focusing on her writing and painting skills in hopes of becoming an Illustrious Author one day.









Unfortunately, Grimmy decided to pay a visit to Carrie. She had a nice long life though and enjoyed knowing her grandchildren and working in her dream job.





Grimmy tried to ease Ethan’s pain of losing his mother by initiating a pillow fight with him. However, that didn’t last long and he was quickly asked to leave.

A New Home

Lexie has attended her prom and been made Prom Queen. She also now has a boyfriend named Deon Coker. She has turned into a young adult, graduated from high school and is now focusing on her painting and writing.





Since Ethan and his family were left a nice inheritance from his parents and each of them are making a good living, they decided to remodel their home.









Ethan and Krista celebrated their 80th birthdays together.

Tragedy and Joy

Ethan received news that his sister Lauren had passed on. He also found out that she had been doing so well in her medical career that she had bought the house that she had originally rented at 30 Stratford Street. The house has remained in the family and was now standing empty. Since Lucas was looking for a place to live, Ethan thought it would be a perfect place for him to move into while he started off in his business career.



Lexie and her boyfriend Deon have moved to the next level in their relationship and have gotten married. They also have a baby on the way. Deon is working toward becoming Leader of the Free World and has a job in the political career track.



Ethan and Deon enjoyed getting to know each other by playing some hoops out in the backyard.



Unfortunately, neither Ethan nor Krista made it much past their 80th birthdays as both passed on within an hour of each other.









Deon comforts Lexie who is heartbroken that her parents never got to meet their grandchild.



Deon and Lexie have welcomed a new baby boy named Jack. He will become the heir and continue on with the Holsinger legacy.

Thanks Louise! This legacy is perfect for me because I tend to get bored with it, too. I've never gotten past the 2nd generation.

I have my seasons set to the following:

Summer --> 6 days
Fall/Autumn --> 3 days
Winter --> 3 days
Spring --> 6 days
