Sims 3 - How Do I Identify CC?

I think I downloaded a few CC items from the Exchange before I knew they weren't official, and I'd like to get rid of them.
1- Is there a way to identify those items from within the launcher?
2- If I put a check the launcher option to play without CC, will that also affect the game when I start it from outside the launcher (directly from the game .exe)?

Open the launcher and click on the button for "Installed Content." It will bring up all the things you've installed into the game. Look through everything and you'll probably be able to recognize the things that you didn't actually purchase from the Store. Click their boxes and delete.

Yes, I have done that, but I'm not certain which were purchased and which were not. I'm hoping there's some designation that I'm not aware of. I'm noticing that some patterns and items have a small green box in the bottom right corner, with a couple letters in white.

Those with the letters in boxes are third party custom content. If it's just a pattern, I think it's not too much of a concern. But if it's a piece of furniture, decor item, or clothing, etc., I'd definitely delete it.

That helps, thank you. I noticed that the launcher calls all downloaded content "custom content". I thought that meant third-party content, so I definitely won't be checking that option.

Technically, custom content is anything that doesn't come with the game and is added to it. The items you buy in the Sims 3 Store are custom content and are fine. The ones that cause a problem are the third party custom content, which is made by people outside Electronic Arts. I know it can be a little confusing, but the villian here is third party custom content.
