Problems with the "see ghost of of a wealthy spouse" LTW

I've tried to fulfill this wish for my evil sim several times, but after marriage, killing the husband and seeing the ghost the LTW isn't completed. Could anyone help me with this?

Here's what I did:
1, My evil sim moved in with a rich sim when they got married.
2, I waited for a few days, until the "newly married" moodlets had disapeared.
3, The rich sim tragically died by starvation in the back yard.
4, The evil sim waited until she saw the ghost.

The wierd thing was, when she saw the ghost nothing happened. In her relationships panel it listed her relationship with the ghost as fiancee, even though were married for 3 or 4 days. Am I doing anything wrong in trying to achieve this wish? Does the wedding have to be in front of other people or is a private wedding ok? Any help would be appreciated!

I wonder if you could resurrect them with the science lab opportunity and try marrying again when they're in a ghostly form? Not sure if it'd work. Maybe someone has another idea.

I have a sim family I am working with, the husband is dead, but she just has not seen his ghost yet.  I have not played that game in a while.  When I get home from work, maybe I will go in the game and see if mine works and I will post on here this evening.

I'm fairly certain that once the spouse is a ghost they turn back into a fiancee in the relationship listing. I had a guy who "lost" several wives and they went back to fiancee status. As to why it didn't fulfill her wish, I don't have an answer for that one.

Yes, it may be a glitch that is linked to that ghosts no longer are married to their living partners ('til death to you part). What I usually do to solve this LTW is let the golddigger sim (the living one) see the ghost begging for his/her life with the grim reaper when he's performing that death ritual. This has always counted for me.

My evil sim did see the death and watched her husband begging for his life.

I'm going to try this LTW with another sim and see what happens.

It's normal for the relationship to change to fiance.  That will happen any time there's a death of a spouse.  However, not getting the LTW fulfilled when she saw his ghost definitely doesn't sound right.  There are a lot of bugs running around the game right now and this may be yet another one.

I've had problems with a couple of lifetime wishes recently. One sim had eight perfect plants but her Perfect Garden wish wasn't fulfilled. Another sim didn't fulfill the Super Popular wish even though he had 21 friends. I used a mod to fix one of them but the other one was eventually fulfilled a couple of days later.

There seems to be some sort of discrepancy between friends counts -- family members sometimes count as friends when you hover your mouse on the wish, so it appears like it should be completed, but somewhere internally, family members don't actually count for that wish (if that makes sense at all!!)
Or is it household members?  I'm not too sure, in most of my games they are one and the same.

I've noticed it with the smaller wishes, like if I hover over the wish for having 8 friends, it will say I have 7/8 friends, but the LTW will say I have 9/20 friends.

My guess is that the gardening LTW was working properly.  The wish won't be completed until the perfect plants reach maturity.  If they are still sprouts or still growing they won't count towards the LTW.

I haven't had any problems with the LTW unless it's something new. I just have my sim out in a lounger, watching as her new hubby roasts, drowns or whatever. Watch as Grimmy takes your problem away, and then roll around happily in all the wealth. That's usually the fastest LTW for me...a day or less and done.

I too had the problem with the gold digger LTW - I had saved before the rich sim's demise and tried different things, but to no avail! I'm about to give up!

If this LTW is glitched up, maybe you'd just have to change it. (except if it's a challenge (Metro?))

Hi,
Please forgive me if this topic has been covered here . I am new to the forum. I have a problem with the Gold Digger LTW.
The problem is that I just cannot get him to propose or even go steady. All his suitor remain as the love interest. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Hi beanutz and welcome to the forum!  I've never done that LTW, but I've never had any trouble getting sims up to the point where they can propose or go steady.  In my experience, they need to be at least Good Friends.  Then just keep doing romantic interactions.  Once they get the option to embrace or make out, go steady usually appears as an option soon after.  Good luck!
