Problems with the "see ghost of of a wealthy spouse" LTW

Are you certain that he's single?  That could be the reason you're not getting those interactions.  If he's married, you'll have to get him to break up with his wife before you get the going steady and marriage proposals.

Hi, I'm Bellalupa, but feel free to call me Belle, or whatever your fingers are willing to type at the moment . I was wondering if this LTW is extremely glitchy for anyone else? I can't seem to get it without the Science Oh my ghost opportunity and getting the couple remarried. However, I can't do this in a legacy, so it seems an impossible lifetime wish. Oh, and can anyone get ghosts to stay on graveyard lot? I build these really nice graveyards with plenty of amenities so the family ghosts can be happy, but it seems to me they all just get in a car and leave.

I think some people have encountered some problems.  But you should be able to get the LTW if the spouse is rich at the time of death and you leave the grave/urn on your lot.  The ghost will start coming out after a few days and then your Sim can see the ghost and get the LTW.  If you're playing Pinstar's legacy, I don't think the Oh My Ghost opportunity is banned.  However, if you're playing our Immortal Dynasty Challenge, it is definitely banned.

As for the issue of ghosts not staying in the cemetary, that's something that has become an issue since Ambitions was released.  We already have a thread for it that you can visit and ask questions.  Click here.

So I managed to half fix it. I thought I'd show how I got around the problem.

I saved all the families and sims I wanted to keep to the library. Then I deleted that game and started a new one, this time with the graphics set to low. After moving everyone back in the LTW triggered just fine. It's like I'm playing the same game.

 The only problem now is the game doesn't recognize that some of the sims are related, even though I saved all the family members. I guess this is because they were spread across several houses, and placing one house down at a time severed the connection. Still it's a small price for me to pay to keep the game.

I hate it that that one is messed up, I have tried it a couple of times and finally gave up.  It is fairly easy and I do know that I have completed it at least once, but just not sure when that was.  I still have a game that I have not finished it yet.  I still can't figure out, if your suppose to see the ghost of a dead spouse, then why did they make the dead sim a fiance'.  Come on EA, lets tighten up!  LOL

I've only had this LTW once and all I did was have her watch her husband begging for his life, than bam! It was complete! I need to do another one, see if anything has changed from the first time!

Hi, I am also having a lot of problems with this LTW and think it's glitched.  I have had my Sim marry a RICH, as labeled by the game, sim.  The spouse drowned in the pool -- no cheats, no walls.  However, when the spouse returned as a ghost, the gold digger saw him, had a conversation with him, but still no fulfillment of the wish.  They even cuddled on the bed together and kissed!

I ended up trying again with a new spouse, but the same thing happened.

I believe the problem is that the dead spouse returns as a fiance instead of spouse.  The game then doesn't register the ghost as the dead spouse so it can't complete the wish.  I believe in the original base game, the dead spouse came back as spouses, which lead to remarriage glitches, but the wish could be completed.  They need a new status: deceased spouse.

Also, the gold digger can't remarry the dead spouse because they option to marry never comes up.  They are stuck as permanent fiances. 

Has anyone completed this LTW successfully recently?  If not, would someone try to test it out? It doesn't take much time.  In fact, the guide on this site is very good; it's just the final seeing the ghost part that is not working.

I haven't had any problems with the LTW unless it's something new. I just have my sim out in a lounger, watching as her new hubby roasts, drowns or whatever. Watch as Grimmy takes your problem away, and then roll around happily in all the wealth. That's usually the fastest LTW for me...a day or less and done.

It would seem to be fast, but it doesn't work anymore.  When was the last time you completed this?  I think that now that the spouse's status changes after death to fiance, the game doesn't look at the wish as being completed.

I just tried it twice, like the OP, in Twinbrooks.  Both times, when the ghost came back, I had the gold digger converse, kiss, cuddle and make out with the deceased spouse, but the wish was never fulfilled.  The spouse is definitely classified as RICH both before and after death.  I even tried the O MY GHOST opportunity to see if that would help, but it did not.

When the game was released, were ghosts reverted back to fiance status?  I understand that was not the case, but it caused re-marriage issues for widows so they changed it. Now, unfortunately, the gold digger LTW cannot be completed.

Would anyone be willing to test it out now and let us know your results?

Even though it says, "see the ghost of the rich spouse", I think the key is actually to watch grimmy take the spouse while they are a spouse, because the game does reset the spouse to fiance, so why would they even name it that.  So, you actually posted the answer.  Now that I think about it, that is how I got my opportunity fulfilled.  I guess will just have to watch them, scary thought, especially if it is on purpose.

When I had my gold digger sim, I had to literally do this LTW two times. The first time I had her marry Nick Alto, and when she killed the entire family and seen his ghost nothing happened. So I moved her across the street to the Landgraabs, but this time when she seen the ghost it worked.

I married Geoffrey Landgraab and went in the pool with him.  The gold digger and he splashed and did the hold breath contest until he drowned.

Grimmy came and took him away.

Rita, the Gold Digger, saw the whole taking the ghost away thing.  Still no luck, no wish fulfillment

When Landgraab came back (of course as fiance), she chatted him up, but still no wish fulfillment.

Therefore, regardless of whether you are present at the death or not, the wish cannot be fulfilled.

I hope this is patched soon.

Suggestions:

1. Removed the requirement to see the ghost of the dead sim.  That part is pointless.  Simply marrying and killing off the rich spouse or outliving him should be good enough.  After all, you wanted the money!

2. If they insist on seeing a ghost, change the status of the dead spouse to "deceased husband/wife" instead of fiance.  Then change the program to say to see a sim of that status, namely the ghost.  This would be more accurate and allow the wish to be fulfilled.

That is plain weird! I played that LTW back before WA was released and it worked fine. Maybe all the patches and stuff broke it!
