Moving a section of house?

Is it possible to move a section of my house from the front of the plot to the back? I've been working really hard on this house only to realize I'm only using maybe 1/3rd of the entire plot, because I made my house way too close to the street edge. I'd like to be able to move it back on the plot without damaging it.. is that possible? :c

Unfortunately, I don't think that is possible to do. You could move the house back one row of squares at a time, but that is a lengthy process and you may as well start again on the lot next to it, so you can copy the exterior layout.

I realize this is an old post but I thought I'd pass this on.
You could also place a larger lot in your town, move your family and house to the bin through edit town and then place it on the new bigger lot. It will centre the old lot and you should have direction arrows for placing it where you want. Hope that helps.
