Only one maid in Riverview?

Hi all,

What do I do about a maid that won't do its job?  I love playing Riverview but this maid just won't do his job.  He walks right over to the beds and makes them which I could care less about but bypasses the toilets and showers that need cleaning and dirty dishes.  He'll clean one or two here or there but not all.  It's very annoying.  One of my sims actually went to the toilet to go and stood back up and gave a funny look at the toilet because it wasn't cleaned lol.

I already fired him which cancelled maid services then called back up to get another and they sent the same one!  Is there any way around this, I'm paying $125 a day for nothing.  Aside from all the sims (there's eight) doing all the cleaning themselves there's not much time, they all work and go to school and a lot have the slob trait which doesn't help.

Firing him should have done the trick.  If you don't care about him at all there's always the option of killing him off (harsh, but permanent).  Try firing him again and see if that works.  And make sure you aren't dismissing him - I think that only sends him home, but doesn't tell the game you never want to see him again.

I fired the maid, made sure maid services were cancelled then called up again.  I waited till the next day for the new maid to come and a new one did come.  I kept an eye on her and she did a pretty good job, no complaints. I guess its a hit or miss thing, thats why the game says to keep an eye on sims that you hire over the phone.

Yes, the maids are always hit and miss.  However, sooner or later a different one will come.  The game rotates them automatically.  They usually have the Kleptomaniac trait, too, so you might come up missing things in the house.
