The best advice would probably be preventative. If you know you are the type to cheat, then never look them up. I have a long history of cheating in video games, and as a consequence I do not know off hand any cheats for games anymore. I generally don't even like to know what cheats are possible. Case in point, I didn't know there was a teleportation cheat, and now I have to live with the knowledge that I don't really have to put up with the lack of convenient roads in china.
I've largely grown out of it now I'd say, simply because before things like gathering money to fund an empire or whatever were an obstacle to my playing the game. Now I enjoy the challenge. I might still like to stack an Empire Earth scenario in my favor now and then, pretend to be some sort of enforcer of the peace with the benefit of massively more advanced tech, but for the most part I enjoy the games.
The lifetime rewards allow you to cheat legitimately anyway. I've settled for age freezing my primary couple, allowing me to ultimately do everything. What I have now is more patience. I don't make enough to build whatever I want when I like, but I have enough to expand my house on a whim, and it takes me long enough between sessions that I get to do large, satisfying additions (building my house is half the game for me). I doubt I will ever get the moodlet manager since I would abuse it, and I would get bored very fast, but for the less patient, or those who are still on a clock, I think it's great.
I guess ultimately, you really can stop cheating. Telling yourself that you can't doesn't help, and I think there is some merit in trying a challenge, binding yourself to the rules of others if you cant follow your own. Find a way to give yourself that chance to experience the game without cheating, to see if you enjoy it more or not. Or you can do what I did and stretch out the aging so much that you have 65,000 LTHP by the time you hit young adult, thus freeing you up to fart around doing whatever you please for the rest of eternity. I'm going to master a whole bunch of skills and build some mansions. I might even try this farming sooner or later.
