Problem with roof

I'm trying to build a house inspired in this plan, with some modifications:
http://details.coolhouseplans.com/details.html?pid=chp-20879&ArchStyle=Historic&FoundID=14&sid=chp23&ordercode=C101
However, when I try to build the roof, this happens:
My guess is that the different roof styles conflict with each other somehow but... is there a way to fix it or at least a workaround? Roofing isn't exactly my strongest skill when it comes to building so I have no idea what to do.

It is because you second floor's roof is overlapping your roof on the first floor. Deleting the pieces of roof hanging over the indention on the second floor should fix it.

That was the only thing that I could think of that didn't require demolishing walls. Hope this helps!

After two days babysitting my sister's nooboos I finally got the time to load the game, and it worked! I had to change the upper roof a little bit but it's barely noticeable and now I got used to it, I actually think it looks better. I'm still babysitting nooboos so I can't take a screenshot now but I'll get back here later with a picture
