Performance Venues Bust

My Sim wants to reach level 10 of the Singing Career and become a 'Vocal Legend', but is getting on the bad side of the proprieters because she never puts on the show. I'll click on the stage, select the option for setting up the stage for the show, the icon will come up... and then nothing will happen. Has this happened to anyone else?

This happened to me, but only once.  And I think it was the last one I tried to do, so I don't know if it's resolved itself.  I'm hoping that after closing the game and clearing the caches that it will be back to normal.
