Please help with a contruction question.

Hiii,  I'm super new to this forum, and to be honest have only just started using Carl's Sims 3 guide for a short while. Anywooo, I hope Im posting this in the right area . (sorry if its wrong)!

So basically, I am in the process of building a dream home/retreat for my runaway sim and 2 feline friends (long story  hah).

I've been borrowing ideas from a couple of guides on youtube, and I am wanting to put some 'post like things' like this at 0.59 sec www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccy7nNCjCjI&list=PLC14EB82A4D2C1DAC .
I just really like the look and I am really struggling to find a way to do this, and even what they are called to find a suitable guide.

Does anyone have any ideas or methods on how to achieve this?
