To clarify what we were saying:
Anyways, Id, Ego, and Superego are common psychology terms from an old study where people believed that the three bits made up the human mind. The id went after what it desired, the superego was the conscience and the ego was the person in charge who had to make the decisions on whether to follow the id or the superego. Like the "Devil on the one shoulder/Angel on the other" theory. (Id being the devil/Superego being the Angel).

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Additionally, I hope Isabelle bests Marc.

It's always interesting when people discuss something with the knowledge their know :P
Go on.

Ghost hunter always a fun job, it’s never failed to amuse me.
So, there's a chance for Rufus to survive from Isabelle evil grasp ::) ?
Even bad Marc deserves his second chance. I wonder who saved him. You're pretty good to making Marc that people hates become someone who deserved a second chance well at least after you show Isabelle dark side. People might want to think twice even we know Isabelle reason ::)

Isabelle has a psychotic Great Grandmother who just vanished into thin air one day and has the power to raise the dead, and you're all concerned about the cheating ex-husband. Your priorities need reworking.  ;D

I feel for Isabella, even in death she's not left in peace. Oooh, Marc is still alive?

Apparently he is.  ::)

He won't be for long! Hahahaha!

To clarify what we were saying:

Anyways, back to what I was saying: DOOM TO MARC! He deserved his fate, I only dislike him because he was a lousy father and a cheater. Isabelle is quite the evil temptress though, I'm excited to see where this goes.

Ahhh! That makes perfect sense. But with that answer I can now say--no that's not the case. I'm surprised no one's guessed who she is yet! Maybe it's just obvious to me because I'm writing the story.

You and I share a disdain for Marc, but he's not going anywhere for a while. Since he can apparently beat death.

The Ghost Hunter profession is A LOT of fun. I really enjoy it.

You make it seem like Isabelle treats Rufus so horribly, but she doesn't!

First of all, we root for those "psychotic" evil sims that disappear into thin air after wrecking havoc on everyone. It's why we adore Isabelle and hate her ex for being unfaithful.

Yeah, a lot of people know the Id, Ego, Superego deal, but they don't know it by name. I could take some more serious stabs at Isadora, but I really don't want to ruin the story in case I'm right! So I'll keep my speculation to myself!

I'm also assuming that Marc showed up in the family tree alive somehow? I can't imagine he could resurrect himself, and I know Rufus' genie ability doesn't allow for resurrection, so I'm curious if it was a fluke or if it was meant to be part of the story? Either way it's such a twist!

You make it seem like Isabelle treats Rufus so horribly, but she doesn't!

Just when I going to sleep then I check out this forum and look at what kind of answer that I get.
I was laughing so hard seeing your reply, ROFL!
Thank you for made my day.

Ah.

But, in my opinion that was so harsh for her to treats Rufus like a slave. Although yes I don't see any violence neither abuse toward Rufus yet and Rufus only a spare and being Marc child. I know that it seems not realistic but she should treat her better than that! I really hope that she soften her heart over time for Rufus :)

And Rufus didn't know anyone beside Isabelle and he seems distant with other children as well and what he doing only cleaning the house and do his job like a slave should be, ah the perfect word is housemaid or personal butler instead a slave if I look in your story.

You know a little wordplay can make something looks different, yes? ::)

Next update then, I'm craving to see moar. You’re very good writer and I love your work ;)

Okay! So life again beat me over the head and told me to focus. And so I did. But now I am here to give you all a little update in the Morae Legacy. I really need to pick up the pace here because I can't play the file until the heir is chosen, but I am on break from now until next monday so hopefully I'll be able to pick up the pace of the story a bit.

14: Slander and Child-Rearing

This is Edwin Anthony Morae.  Father of one child with another on the way, married to the drop dead gorgeous Cipriana Costa, and the heir to the Morae family.

He stole Cipriana from a pudgy kid name Orlando within seconds of his teen birthday, and made her his wife within days of his Young Adult birthday. And he is, by all rights, the pseudo-leader of the family, destined to bring in the next generation and burdened with accomplishing some great deed before he dies. Paolo's toddler skills? Edwin's doing. Cipriana's pregnancy, obviously Edwin's doing. Most of the family funds coming into the household? Edwin's doing! Getting Marrick, Alessandra, and Cianna moved out? Rufus getting his own bedroom? Edwin, Edwin, Edwin. He's the quiet heir, working secretly behind the scenes of his mother's slightly vengeful agenda. So while he hasn't made any executive decisions about the family yet, he shouldn't be brushed off as a non-important member of the family.

Cipriana is the size of a small barge now, and her wardrobe consists of more maternity friendly clothing because she's not exactly stupid. She expects she'll be baking more Morae buns in her oven in the near future. Edwin got very close to maxing out his Inventing skill on the third day of Cipriana's pregnancy and managed to make a pretty big discovery.

What he'll do with it, I don't even know, but it's been placed in the basement and he's often traveling to the future or the past when I'm not paying attention.

Also on the third day of Cipriana's pregnancy, she obviously went into labor. After a very long Monte Vista Summer season, winter had come around and Cipriana was outside and headed to the nursery to play with Paolo when she went into labor, and her outerwear made her look like an even bigger barge. Though this time she had enough sense to at least be in an archway when it happened.

No help from her husband at all. And Paolo clearly wanted nothing to do with the commotion either. He waddled a whole lap around the house before plopping down on the door step and crying.

Welcome to the world, Regina Morae!

Edwin wanted to lay claim to taking care of the nooboo, just as he had with Paolo, but someone else got in the way of that.

Rufus loves nooboos. Paolo and Regina were both well taken care of when their parents and grandparents were at work or otherwise out of the house. Despite how it may appear, Rufus has settled back into his quiet and content way of living. He never had the desire to be a genie, but that didn't take away from his apparent love of cleaning. If the house is messy in any way shape or form, he's shuffling to take care of it. Not because Isabelle beams down from the master bedroom and demands it, but because he wants to.

Neat sims are like that. After Regina was born, Isabelle and her genie assistant continued about their happy little lives. They're very good friends, despite popular belief.

"Aunt Izzy?"

Isabelle looked at him from the Treadmill briefly, "Huh? What is it, Rufus."

Rufus watched his 'aunt' running at top speed on the device for a minute before he spoke again, "Is there anything else I need to do? The kitchen's clean."

"No, you're fine. Here, come with me. I've got a surprise for you." She hopped off the treadmill and Rufus automatically cleaned her magically. She then led him to his bedroom where she'd moved something to while he was cleaning.

"What is this?"

"Damien's old science machine. It used to sit in the courtyard, but he didn't take it with him. This thing is very powerful and I trust you'll make good use of---"

Clearly he was already interested in the thing and Isabelle just smiled as she returned to her room. Three days went by, Rufus leveled up in the Science skill by 3 (pausing every now and then to satisfy his needs and Magically Clean the house). And then Paolo and Regina both aged up!

Both of them are looking more and more like their mother as they get older. Cipriana has some very strong genetics. And a strong will, as she went right back to work after Regina was born and bumped herself up to level 7. If the husband and wife were't working, inventing, child-rearing, or skill building, they were on dates.

Video game dates. They play A LOT of video games together. Autonomously and non-stop.

"No, no...No! AHHH!"

"Beat you again, Rina!"

"Rematch. You cheated. Hacks. I CALL HACKS!"

"Are the kids okay?"

"Uhh..." Cipriana shrugged, "They're in bed. I think."

The following day, Edwin spent every second he wasn't stuck with the 'Recently time traveled' moodlet in the time machine while Cipriana took care of Regina and her toddler skills. You should know by now, Isabelle can't be ignored for but so long. Especially not if she ends up in the paper being called out for 'cheating'

Because of it, Isabelle lost friends and the court case to have her name cleared. She wasn't pleased, and she tracked down the one responsible for the tip---according to her research it was Giacomo. She was somehow not surprised by this, as it couldn't have been Walter. Walter had a flirty trait as well, so how bothered would he have been if Isabelle happened to kiss someone else? Not very. Not enough to make a visit to the paper about it.

"Giacomo...I need to see you. Come over please?" Isabelle nearly gagged while she said it.

A few moments later, Giacomo came by. And completely by random...

Walter came too with a little thought bubble over his head with Izzy in it. Convenient.

"Walter. What a pleasent surprise..."

"I saw the paper." He answered, though his face didn't seem to read any kind of hurt, "Made me want to see you. Who do you really have eyes for if I may ask?"

She glanced over at Giacomo who had taken several steps backwards. standing there waiting to be invited in. Instead of doing that, she leaned forward and stole a kiss from Walter's lips, “Just you. He was out of convenience and just never moved on. Be patient for a second?”

“Sure.”

Of course Giacomo was upset at the sigh of Isabelle kissing another guy, and he stamped his feet like a little kid. Walter pointed and laughed. Isabelle smirked. Made for each other? I'm beginning to think so.

"You're a cheater! Just like the paper said. Just like I TOLD THEM."

"You're no saint yourself! Married with 4 children and you kiss ME out of nowhere and then proceed to slander MY reputation? I don’t want anything to do with you Giacomo and I never did. Whether you’re my boss or not, you aren’t going to get away with pulling something like this."

"Now get off of my property. And don't let me catch you leaking anything to the paper again. Or you’ll pay a worse price."

In effect, this was all my fault. I'm a bad Watcher. I meant to nudge Isabelle into cutting things off with Giacomo sooner, but other things got in the way and...well, you see the results. Dumped and turned into a frog, Giacomo left and Isabelle turned all her attention and affections on Walter.

"Have I told you lately how perfect you are? You don't even care about my kissing around."

Walter shrugged, "I'm also aware of how slightly twisted you are."

"How?"

"It takes an Evil sim to know an Evil sim."

Isabelle’s heart was thudding in her chest, a sensation she hadn’t felt in a very long time.

"Took you long enough."

Isabelle rolled her eyes, "Shut up."

Isabelle had wanted to marry Walter for a while now. There was something about him that she felt she could trust. Loyal to the end, as he visited her almost daily, attentive (he called her for dates very often), and crazy about her? What was there not to love about the man? She could see him in her future. Standing by her side forever. In a moment of insanity and weakness---she shared something with him that she vowed she'd never give to anyone else.

"I want you by my side for everything for as long as I live, and that is going to be a very long time. Think you can handle that?"

"I'll manage somehow."

======

Before anyone freaks out, the science machine Isabelle gave Rufus is NOT the one that killed Marc. That one was sold. I'm not THAT cruel. Also, I apologize for not having to many shots of Paolo's toddler days. I'll post a few for you in the next chapter or maybe as a bonus chapter.

The way that you describe other Sims are just funny and I loved that ;D

Welcome Regina Morae!

So, in reality Rufus is unemployed? Of course he has a quality for being a 'slave' *grin*

In serious comment, he's has self-awareness to his surrounding and he seems like a nice person to have with, it would be nice to see his activity all day (just him, no Isabelle. Other kid is okay though) but I think that would be count as bonus chapter. Yes and that popular belief will not go away for awhile, nuh-uh that scene talk between them wouldn’t count, as I don’t know if they’re do it because it’s the truth or it’s just you who played them that way ::)

I’ll not change my view. Until there's some event or plot that believable enough and involved Rufus’s life.

There’s something near Edwin when he helps Paolo to blow his birthday cake, don't tell me that's Multitab thing? That’s ruin your beautiful screenshots! But, just one anyway, so I wouldn't mind.

Hmm, just hmm is my first reaction when I see the last couple of screenshots. Hmm... I wonder what will come next. Hmm…

I'm surprised she let him have a potion of hers.
I don't imagine he'll last very long, Isabelle just isn't a one-man kinda girl. ;)

Cipriana's genes are strong! I was hoping to see them hit the Reapers as she and Aliester had an alert that they were getting close, but she then cheated on him and broke his heart so I kind of stopped appreciating her as much haha! As long as she takes care of Edwin then it will be all good!
I'm excited for the next heir poll, though I have no idea who it could possibly be! They're both so young! Will Isabelle be choosing again or will it be Edwin?

I don't know what else to tell you, Eldridge XD Rufus and Isabelle are Good Friends who hug and chat non-stop if I don't watch them (which happens pretty often considering at the point I'm in at the game I have teens to take care of). Rufus is a self-employed writer with the LTW to be a Blog Artist (Which is not easy for me, but I'm going to find a way to incorporate it at some point). The scene with them talking was staged, yes, okay? But that doesnt' take away from their closeness! Rufus just happened to walk into the room when Isabelle was on the treadmill and I took a cap and use dit here.

Yeah, that's the Multitab he's got on though. He needs gardening for his job and considering there's no grass on the lot...Multitab it is.

So, due to my distaste for sentiment and romance, this was my first thought after reading: She's gonna kill him eventually.

Hey, she really likes Walter actually. She doesn't get wishes to cast spells and curses on him like she does everyone in the house. Walter will be around for a while.

I'm surprised she let him have a potion of hers.
I don't imagine he'll last very long, Isabelle just isn't a one-man kinda girl. ;)

You guys have no faith! Isabelle is, in actuallity, a very one-man kinda girl. She was happy with Marc until she cheated. She has to many other things to be thinking about to be worried about being promiscuous ~

THEY ARE SO STRONG. Oh my goodness, it's shocking. But I think all the kids are very nice looking. Oh, if you leave Cipriana she's a flirt. She had Orlando as a boyfriend back as a teenager not 2 minutes after she aged up and then I got an alert about her flirting with someone else. And don't even get me started on how she is with Walter.  ::) But she adores Edwin. Whenever he's in the vicinity it's 'Watch the Stars with Edwin' 'Kiss Edwin' 'Woohoo with Edwin' 'Have a Child with Edwin'

Don't put your eggs in one basket yet. There's still one more nooboo to account for.  ;) It'll be Edwin and Cipriana who 'picks'

Oh, just call me Eld. Typing Eldridge just too long anyway XD

But, you the one who successfully convince me first that Isabelle looks like an Evil person; you could convince me that she's has a good side too ::) Here’s I have alternative plot for you to consider and to make it happen. Which of path you take and how the storytelling goes, it’s all yours. But, if you don't want to do it, it's okay anyway. No peeking for others ::)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oookay, I know that in your storytelling and reality in the game was so much different. I know but it’s your fault to begin with :P
Hmm, I would like to see about Rufus as self-employed writer and how he become a blog artist.

Yay! That’s multitab! I’m right! Woohoo!

Thanks to you and Livvie, I am playing Monte Vista again for awhile. Currently I play around with Gino Ferrari. He’s my favorite townies, second to that is Constanzo Rossi, I usually make him break with his wife and end up with my female Sims, the third is Luis Toledo, which you guys will never look after because he’s an Elder ;D

Eld, I think I'm good in the plot department thanks XD I appreciate the suggestions though. You're just going to have to sit with your Rufus bias for a while because I don't want to make him the focus.

Anywho, I apologize if things are a bit off or you see me quoting the exact number of days between events. It’s been a while since all of this happened so my brain is still trying to keep the whole timeline in order. Two updates incoming!

---------

15: Weddings and Wedding Nights

Two days later, winter began to melt away from Monte Vista and the family got together for a wedding---Isabelle’s wedding! She’d opted out of a Bachelorette party and instead directed her funds to a nice venue and a beautiful makeover.

The wedding was held at Venice Beach (a lot devoid of pathing issues thank goodness). Marrick and Alessandra were there, no sign of little Cianna anywhere.

So were Cipriana’s family, what was left of the Monty family, and of course, Demelza and Damien.

This woman Damien is looking so angrily at is Kannitha Seng, one of his many flirts. They aren’t married, but she is the mother of his child, Mike Seng. According to Story Progression, Damien has been in and out of a lot of relationships and is always yelling at the girls he dates. Never knew he had it in him---Kannitha is apparently very angry as she spent the entire wedding smacking Damien senseless, and cursing Isabelle in her mind.

Isabelle was not fond of her. Especially because she and several others spun into swimwear and decided to relax on the beach.

"Put your hand on my son's face one more. ONE MORE TIME and see how much damage I can do to you in a wedding dress!"

The two of them argued for a good while, smacking and nemesis declaring included, before Walter pulled her away and over to the alter.

“I, Walter, take you Isabelle to be my wife and companion for as long as we both shall live.”

“I, Isabelle, take you Walter to by husband, companion, assistant, and minion for as long as we both shall live.”

The use of the word ‘minion’ illicited a few thought bubbles from the guests having to do with the Evil trait or a dislike for Isabelle. But they all clapped and cried when bride and groom shared a kiss. The wedding was short and sweet and after the nuptials, everyone began booing and hissing at Rufus, I'm thinking, because he switched into swimwear. Damien was upset with Alessandra for the same reason, and at the same time, Isabelle began to glow red which made Rufus mad at her because he doesn't like when she does that.

And that was the queue to head home, as Isabelle started stalking around scaring people.

“Your mom looked really happy today, Ed. I’ve never seen that glow before.”

Edwin furrowed his brow, “She glows red all the time…”

“Not THAT glow. That happy glow. The kind of glow I had when I married you.”

“Oh!” Edwin laughed a little at his own naivete, “That glow. Yeah…I’m happy for her. Maybe Walter will help her mellow out a bit. I know she’s driven to find out what she can about the family, but maybe having someone in her life will help calm her so she can think a little straighter and not leave a trail of carnage behind her.”

“Maybe. Your mom and I are Old Friends at this point---Love her just the way she is. It's annoying that she's not getting any older though”

Cipriana curled up to her husband, “I’m going back to work tomorrow.”

"I think that's cause for celebration then...”

Edwin and Cipriana weren’t the only one enjoying married life that evening.

16: Edwin's Family

Cipriana went to work the next day, now sporting a sleek new ghost hunting outfit

Edwin was promoted and Walter joined the Political Career, as his lifetime wish was to become Leader of the Free World. The Leader of the Free World married to the Empress of Evil? Am I the only one for whom that does not bode very well? She must have something in mind that I'm just not aware of yet.

The following day, Cipriana was banishing spirits when she spun into maternity wear on the job, cutting her work night short.

This is apparently Cipriana’s work friendly maternity wear. When she got home, she spun into her favorite black and purple shirt and blue mini-skirt along with a pair of heels. Walter is thoroughly dedicated to progressing in the political career. He doesn't like to use the regular mirror, instead he uses Isabelle's Magic Mirror. And she often gets angry because Walter is standing there when she wants to talk to it.

Over the of a course Sim week,  a few everyday family life things happened. Cipriana gave birth to her third child while teaching Regina to walk.

Regina was not pleased with her mother shrieking in the middle of the nursery.

Sierra Morae was born and immediately brought to a birthday cake to age into a very cute toddler who played well with her older sister. (Small Toddler spam incoming!)

Regina currently has the Virtuoso and Light Sleeper Traits, while Sierra got Virtuoso and Friendly. Because of this, the living room in the house was converted into a music room with a variety of instruments for the girls to use upon aging up. Curious to find out what kind of instruments they chose to play---violin, bass, guitar...so many options! They're bound to age up into to two very different types of musicians.

Cipriana and Isabelle worked together to get the girls' Toddler skills up. Cipriana finished up Regina with walking, thus ending her toddler learning and Isabelle took Sierra into the new music room to teach her to walk. Rufus decided to take it upon himself to teach Sierra to talk.

"You're gonna go to school and get really smart, right? Smart like your dad."

"Smat!"

"SmaRt."

"Smat!"

Sierra and Regina are both very different when they play with toys. Regina seems to love the xylaphone as much as Sierra does, but there's a difference when they play with it. Regina seems to think the little baton is something to eat.

While Sierra just stares at it in amazement that it somehow made that noise.

Soon, it was time for Paolo to age up. The young child opted out of having a big birthday party and aged up alone in his bedroom. Upon aging up, he gained the Heavy Sleeper trait. Insane, Grumpy, Heavy Sleeper.

Cipriana: Look at my handsome boy!!
Miz: Rina, go away. I'm narrating.
Cipriana: Not until you recognize how handsome my little boy is.
Miz: He's very handsome, Rina, now shoo!
Cipriana: And you're not showing those pictures of him talking to the Fire Alarm?
Miz: Oh how nice of you to remind me...

It was a riveting conversation. Moving along, Regina aged up after him at a Birthday cake.

Regina still has some growing to do, but she seems to be coming into her features nicely. But here's something else that simply does not bode well.

Regina does not like her grandmother. She does this number whenever she comes around. As for housing, Regina and Sierra are still sharing a room, only now Light Sleeper Regina has to deal with crying toddler sister in the crib right next to her. She's gotten in trouble for sleeping in class because of her. But now that she's old enough to get to the formula in the fridge, she has not qualms with help taking care of Sierra.

Paolo and Regina don't pay each other much mind. Save for the instances when he's staring her down while she does homework.

"You're beyond creepy bro."

Wow, you made Walter look hot! Another marriage for Iz? I wonder how her new husband will fare.
