Trait Bug
«

I just found a new bug today. My sim is missing the very last trait that was selected before enrolling in the university. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with taking the aptitude test as a teen but I have not confirmed this yet. I am hoping she gets the trait back in addition to her 6th trait for earning her degree after graduation. I will update when I figure it out. I have sent a lot of sims to university and never had this happen but they never took the test as teens, so that is my best guess. The only other thing I can possible think of causing an issue is this sim has a few hidden traits as her dad is a maid and her mom was both a level 7 private investigator and wished for world peace.

Sims dropping traits is actually a common thing and there isn't really a solid reason for it. It's actually fixable with
testingcheatsenabled true
if you shift-click on the affected sim and "Modify Traits for Active Sim."

Thank you, I'm glad you have an answer because graduating didn't fix it!

I've had teen Sims take the aptitude test, and they've never lost any of their traits, so like Trip said, there is no solid reason for it, unfortunately.

I changed a sim's trait via cheats and it changed her lifetime wish. This was before I got university
