In a Future far, far away

Life of a Dynastically inclined sim can be hard. Long days spent skilling and chasing that final promotion, not to mention the schmoozing required to complete your requirements. And if all goes your way you reach immortality, a reward that becomes a lot less appealing the more time you spend living it. Most days it actually seems more like a curse.

Because the older you get the more you realize that life is the people you spend it with, whereas immortality is all about the people that leave you behind...

Is there anything crueler than being forced to see your child waste away and die before your eyes - when in your heart you want to give anything to save her? They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but I have found that all it does is increase the amount of tears you can cry.

So when I had the chance, is it any wonder that I gave my all to bring my little girl back?

Happiness is a sim called Emelie.

Unfortunately, I was not alone. And the Watcher had her own reasons for letting my daugher pass back from the other side...

Oh my...Emelie gets her second chance! This is going to be amazing!

I hope it will live up to your imagination  ::)

Emelie was my favorite twin (I know you aren't supposed to play favorites but hello - she has VJ's eyes) so I have been playing her a lot in my fun file and now I decided she had to show her sister who's descendants is the tougher...

It's nice to see another story here. Especially to know that saltpastillen is the one who write that :)

Thank you for the compliments :) It's always nice to know someone is enjoying my writing.

But this time I plan to make it simpler for myself - and try to do more narrative and not a whole complicated story - I'd like to spend more time actually playing the game than writing for the forum  ;)

I just want to let you know that your story was one of stories in this forum that inspired me to start my own Immortal Dynasty Challenge, saltpastillen! I was reading yours!

I loved how you portray Agnes in your story and I always laughing because of that and VJ too was hilarious. That was the memorable scene in your hilarious and a bit of crazy story. I always wonder where you got your sense of humor. That never fails me to laughing! I always loved that because that makes me feel better. So, thank you so much for such delicious story to share!

So, when I see someone I know get second chance, I wouldn't miss it! I’ll definitely read it from start until the end. I hope that I always get internet connection! ;D

Sylvester: Me and Emelie? You are hilarious!
Emelie: You want me to, to, to do THAT with HIM!?
Watcher: Come on now - don't tell me you never though about it?
Sylvester: She was an infant and I had needs - and even if we could talk about art there was never passion, she was too...
Emelie: Too...don't let me stop you, you Lothario!
Sylvester: I was never a Lothario - just because I was never married doesn't mean I am a Lothario!
Both: And you think this will work?!
Watcher: You better make it work - this is your chance to be in charge of your own destiny. I won't bother you (much). There are just a few little details, but that's mostly for your descendants to worry about...

Sylvester: What do you say Emelie? Can we do it? Can we make a family together?
Emelie: We can have an heir.
Sylvester: I want a large family, at least eight kids.
Emelie: Three maximum!
Sylverster: Eight, no puny little legacy for my genes, I am the son and Christopher and Agnes after all, people deem my genes to be superb, it would be a crime to waste them.
Emelie: Three are plenty - I would like a career as well you silly man. I have intellectual needs.

Sylvester: I can satisfy all your needs. As long as I get those kids, I want a house full of games and laughter.
Emelie: We'll talk more about this later - now let's drink these things and go thorough this CAS transmogrifyer - I demand to keep my genius trait anything else wouldn't be proper!
Sylvester: And I want to love kids - do they have that? And make me brave, I'll need it to raise my ten kids.
Emelie: Three!
Sylvester: We'll see...

After a quick CAS transmorgfication they were young again, had new traits and a new purpose in life. And they were off - far away from Sunset Valley.

Emelie Borealis ne Alvi Aurora
traits: genius, friendly, neurotic, nurturing, proper
LTW: Becoming a creature robot cross-breeder

Sylvester Borealis ne Cruplebottom Steel
traits: family oriented, brave, friendly, loves the heat, loves the outdoors
LTW: Surrounded by family

Lucky Palms 1
« Reply #8 on: November 29, 2013, 05:37:11 PM »
The first world is Lucky Palms, I love this desert world but haven't played in it a lot so now is my chance! Also, there are a lot of townies pregnant here, which should increase the chances of a townie spouse which is the kind I prefer.

I have added a few community lots. For example the Observatory from Oasis Landing as well as the Bot Arena and the Nuts and Bolt Emporium. I think the futuristic buildings look right at home in Lucky Palms. I also added the store venue casino that came with Lucky Palms as well as the consignment and alchemy shops that aren't auto-placed. I tried keeping down the amount of additional community lots to a minimum since more lots mean more to buy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Emelie and Sylvester moved into That 70's Home on 645 Golf View Road. It has a bedroom and a small nursery, and the lot is a good size. After selling all the furniture the family funds were set to §4,000.

Three kind neighbors showed up, I think they may have been the neighborhood watch, and watch they did as Emelie and Sylvester spent their whole visit sucking face. I guess the transmogrification was a success because they have a very strong attraction to each other.

In fact Emelies new amarous nature inspired Sylvester to propose. She said yes, but since she seemed a little hesitant he's decided they should hold off on the real ceremony untill she wishes for it (everything for those big wishes, large tombstones and genie lamps). Sylvester himself naturally rolled a wish to marry as soon as they became romantic interests and a wish to marry Emelie as soon as she agreed to his proposal. Let's hope he doesn't have to wait too long.

Due to their limited funds all they have in their bedroom is the awesome showtime bed and a picture of their love, the heir was conceived the very first night at the house (could it be because they had no other entertainment at home?).

Talking about sparse furnishings, after investing in a toilet and a shower that wouldn't give them a bad moodlet, they had just enough for a table, chairs, sink and an OK fridge. They really need some funds - too bad that Emelie got a message that she won't be allowed to start her job for 6 days (an eternity on medium setting!).

Are you feeling lucky punk? Emelie and Sylvester hope they will be as they head to the casino for some extra cash. Playing the slots on the lowest setting to build gambling skill still allows them to walk away with around §2500 after a couple of hours. That is an easy and fun way to make money. We'll be back!

As Emelie does everything to relax and enjoy her pregnancy (please Watcher don't make me do this again - I want to have a career too) and spends their meager savings on expensive spa packages, Sylvester keeps up his work at the casino raking in about §2500 a night. He's now level 7 and will soon start playing for higher stakes.

Four days after the Borealis family moved to Lucky Palms Erik Borealis enters the world. He is athletic and a heavy sleeper. And the apple of his fathers eye.
Sylvester: I will give you many brothers and sisters my son, would you like that?
Erik: Geeegh
Sylvester: Of course my heir and carrier of my genes - your wish is my command...

With Erik's birth Emelie rolled the wish to marry Sylvester and so they did in a lovely private ceremony witnessed by their new sofa.

The next day, while Emelie was busy filling up the family coffers with yet another §1,000 jackpot...

...Sylvester welcomed their daughter Susan with open arms. Despite an unfortunate choice in hats, Susan was a beautiful girl that sported the light sleeper and friendly trait.

Once Susan was entertaining herself with the toybox Sylvester started thinking that Emelie might not be too happy about this latest family addition - or at least not happy about the him not asking her first part. So he decided to soften her up with some homemade dinner, courtesy of the newly purchased kitchen counters.

Dinner was delish, so even if Emelie was a bit annoyed with Sylvester she agreed to potty train Susan as a bonding exercise. She liked it so much that she decided she also wanted to be surrounded by family and switched her Lifetime wish then and there (mostly it was the lure of all those big potty training and teaching to talk wishes that convinced her).

Once Erik celebrated his birthday the family now has two toddlers crawling around the floor. Erik has Emelies brown eyes and are those the famous Steel lips?

This is awesomeness on so many levels. I adored Sylvester in the original dynasty and absolutely LOVE the fact that he and Emelie are an item. Their two children are simply adorable!

I think it kind of does too - but matching it with a diaper is not really necessary, especially since they are living in the desert :P

After Sylvester reached level 9 in gambling and raked in an impressive §23,578 from one day of gambling I decided it was time to add to the house. It turns out That 70's House was a poor choice since it is built with quite a lot of CFE so I had to scrap my initial plans and just add a whole second story. I also had to use the hammer tool quite a bit in order to get anything done. But the family now has 2 more bathrooms, and 4 more rooms to live in. In an effort to try to keep the file size down all non essential objects are ignored, and the Borealis clan are forced to live in a rather sparse and mismatched house - it kind of feels as if they bought their stuff at the flee market :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Both Emelie and Sylvester put new energy into teaching the toddlers their skills, and getting those nice 3,000 wishes in the bargain.

Erik remains oblivious of my work and plans but Susan seems to be more clear sighted than her brother.

Susan and Erik both age up on the same day, Leisure Day, that they spend at the casino pool while their parents gamble - no one calls child services since this is completely normal parenting behavior in Lucky Palms.

The afternoon is spent at the library fulfilling wishes. Erik was successful in his aim to learn logic, but poor Susan struck out when the fairy she wanted to befriend disliked children.

Here is yet another instance when the poor kids look like their parents shop at the SaveMart, I wonder if those pants were two for one? Unless it is hideousness itself I have decided to restrict the number of makeovers - mostly because I still have nightmares from when Beata Aurora wanted to be a stylist.

Sylvester wants us to know he shaves his pits, and that he just won a §5,000 jackpot, three times in a row...

Nice money that he spends on the first property - the Desert Diner. (The whole family then rolls the partner in three properties wish, kaching!)

Despite herself having suffered the life of a spare Emelie seems unconcerned when her daughter spends her evenings playing in puddles while she tutors her son to an A. All she Emelie cares about is weather Susan will get the genius trait or not, she doesn't even roll the Susan grows up well wish.

When Emelie finally get's to go to work Sylvester takes some liberties with the phone and calls for another adoption. Welcome Andrea who's artistic and loves the outdoors. It appears that the adoption agency has a all hats policy - I wonder if we can go three for three?

Someone who might consider a wardrobe change is Emelie who spent her first day in the science career dressed like this! Maybe the clothes are the reason she rolled a wish to quit her job as soon as she ended her first day? But since she also rolled a wish to get a promotion and that was worth more points she has to make it at least another day.

Getting another child in his arms made Sylvester so happy that he could get a genie lamp, fortune will be his!

He then decided to commemorate Erik turning into a child and asked for a tattoo - sadly I completely blanked when I did edit town and didn't place a salon, so Emelie had to do her best. It was not pretty...

To cover up the mistake he decided on a makeover - and saved himself from a midlife crisis, at least temporarily.

He is very happy to be a stay at home dad and is still working on convincing Emelie that eight is the way to go.

And he is almost heartbroken when Andrea grows up.

Emelie hasn't spent a lot of time at home the last few days as she has been raising her fun after working hard while increasing her gambling skill at the casino. And what do you know - she also has an old lamp...
