Allowing a Pet Through a Locked Door?

Hi, I had to lock my sim's door to keep the paparazzi out. I have it set to allow the family, but I can't find a setting to allow the dog. The only option is to lock him out. He is not listed in the allowed sims. Is there another way to let him come and go freely? Thanks!

If he's part of your family, he should be able to work through door locked to family only

He can't though! He gets the routing error icon above his head. I have to teleport him outside and inside. Does it make a difference if it is an underground bunker or not? this is for my apocalypse challenge.

I've had the same issue and unfortunately never found a fix. I'd like to know if someone has one too.
