I have dropped Marci's funds down to 7k. With that, we bought a few things. In my past attempts, I opted to buy the things I wanted from the start, even though they were more expensive items. I would rather do that than buy cheap stuff and then sit and replace every little thing later on. So she got bunk beds, which I know I will use for the future generations (I want a high quality queen bed but can't afford it yet), and a nicer styled shower, toilet, counter, fridge and sink. As expected, this leaves us pretty broke. Marci doesn't even have enough left to build 4 walls.

But never fear, we do have Scout, after all. Marci gets to work right away training her to hunt.

I have opted to put Marci in a self employed situation and chose "Professional Author" as her lifetime wish. I was going to have her be Leader of the Pack, but I was pleased when this popped up as well. That way I don't have to worry about what happened last time due to promotions - I hope. She hasn't progressed far enough at the time of this post to be sure. So while Scout takes off in search of anything worth money, Marci checks the paper for discounted classes. As it turns out, there is a discounted writing class.

She wastes no time in heading over. Being self employed, she has nowhere to be, after all. And she is broke, so let's get the ball rolling! Here she is not sure if she likes her cab driver or not.
Marci: What a cheerful looking place!
Meanwhile, Scout finds a leaf. That will really help with our funding issues. Not.
Marci: Goooo Scout!
Marci emerges from her class, looking thoroughly unamused.
Marci: Well, that was a waste of money. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know!
I notice that there is a resort property that is run down and costs 0 to purchase. Of course I had Marci go for it. Here she is headed into City Hall to make it her very own.

Then she is off to the library to use one of their computers, seeing as she can't afford her own. She begins to work on her first novel (resisting the urge to screw around thanks to her computer whiz trait).

Meanwhile, I check out the new property. It looks pretty rough.

After deleting the weeds and shrubs - which, amazingly, gave me simoleons - the place looks a little better.

Even though I could seriously use that cash on Marci's house and well being, we decided to put all the money back into the resort. It almost feels like cheating to do anything otherwise. I will take the profits from the resort, but I don't want to make money by selling things like that.
So we added a few more food options as well as increased the quality. I also fired that cheap maintenance worker and hired a high quality one.

And made the deck a little larger and added a pool.

Back to Marci... Hey, what's going on here! You're supposed to be writing!
Marci: Sorry! I kind of wish I had a boyfriend. One that plays guitar would be nice.
Not long after being caught slacking off, Marci goes into a stress induced rage, inadvertently becoming a werewolf for the very first time. So I let her have the rest of the day off, and she winds down by playing a little computer game for a while.

Scout is waiting when she arrives home. Marci has the unlucky trait, and she distinctly felt unlucky today, even earning a negative moodlet for it. She figured she better not take any chances on robbery seeing as she can't afford to replace this stuff (not to mention my last attempt had my founder robbed the very first night). She instructs Scout to guard the "house" as she sleeps.

And so ends their first day.
