Hello everyone! Reading everyone's stories has inspired me to work on a project of my own while I wait for the Sims 4 to be released. This is not following any official rules, it's just a "for fun" project for me so I'm putting it here in the projects forum. I'm not so much going to post it in the form of a story, as I don't like taking loads of screenshots, but instead will create a biography for each character once their lifetime wish has been fulfilled so you can learn their life story and follow the lives of the family through the generations as they attempt to follow their dreams. I will try to include more pictures in future bios ... when I started I was only taking pictures of things I thought were funny and most of them weren't relevant to Violet's story.

I am attempting to fulfill as many lifetime wishes as I can, starting with the base game and then moving on through the expansions for as many as I have time to do. If there is a lifetime wish I really don't think will be fun, I will skip it, since this is for fun and not for a challenge. Some of the lifetime wish fulfillments will only be discussed as a side note, if they are spouses of the main family and not direct heirs.

My first sims had three children and I'd like for there to be three children in each generation that carry on the story, at least for the vanilla game, since there are so many LTWs, so from now on, each will have one child. The children will move into a separate house together once they reach young adulthood and their parents' wishes have been fulfilled.

Since I've now made it to the third generation, I can go ahead and start with my first Sim's story. The first two sims are based on myself and my husband, since that's how I traditionally start any Sims game:

Chapter 1: Violet Greythorn - Master Gardener

Lifetime Wish: Perfect Garden
Traits: Bookworm, Green Thumb, Good, Good Sense of Humor, Light Sleeper
Partner: Jason Greythorn
Children: Max Greythorn, Ruby Greythorn
Sign: Cancer
Career: Backyard Farmer
Favorite Music: Indie
Favorite Food: Grilled Cheese
Favorite Color: Blue
Best Friends: Boyd & Susan Wainwright, Molly French, Iqbal Alvi

Bio

Violet Greythorn grew up in a small seashore town, and as a teen she could not wait to get out of there. Although it was beautiful, she felt stifled and bored and longed to head off to the big city for fun and excitement. Her only joy in small town life was the little garden she kept in the backyard with her mom, who taught her how to grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. Still, the happiest day of her young life came when she got her acceptance letter to university in the big city. She headed off with barely a look back, ready for big adventures.

Shortly after school, she got a boring desk job and met her future husband when she was visiting a friend's apartment. She and her love, Jason, got married and enjoyed the beginning of their young adult years having fun and exploring the opportunities of the city. But as they began to think about having children, Violet suddenly started to remember the days of her childhood in a small town with fondness instead of disgust and she and Jason decided that it would be best for their children if they grew up in that small town environment. It wasn't long before they were settled in their small town environment and ready to decide their futures.

Violet quickly rediscovered her love of gardening and found that Sunset Valley restaurants were willing to buy produce from home gardeners. She started small with some tomato plants, a few grape vines and a little apple orchard. It wasn't much, but her garden was able to feed them and provide a tiny amount of spending money.

It wasn't long before their first child, Max, came along. Violet fell in love instantly. He was strong and handsome and full of life and energy. Though they had no room for a separate nursery, and so were constantly awakened in the night by their little nooboo's cries, Violet and Jason loved him with all of their hearts. It was easy to tell from the beginning that he was brave, as he climbed all over any furniture that he could find. And he laughed and shouted with joy whenever Violet took him outside to enjoy her garden. The next child was a bit of a surprise, but that's Jason's story to tell.

And finally there was little Ruby, their beautiful girl. From the start she was into music, pounding out rhythms on whatever she could find in the house, and hushing her cries when Violet would gently rock her to the soothing sounds of classical music on the radio. Maybe it was the time her neighbor, Jamie, came over and played guitar for the family all night, but something in her infancy ensured that Ruby would be a lifelong music lover.

It wasn't long before Violet was growing perfect produce and bringing in a tidy sum for the household. She joined the local gardening club and learned that one could find special seeds that grew unconventional fruits by going hunting around the outskirts of town. Spooky Cornelia Goth hinted that the graveyard was a choice location for finding special seeds, so one day Violet steeled herself and went on a terrifying expedition into the mausoleum. Alas, the only seed she found was a bell pepper, which, though rare, was not exactly special. She did come home with a mysterious garden gnome, which she set to watch over her garden. He seemed to think his duties were watching over the entire home, however, as he would appear anywhere on their lot. He seemed especially fond of Ruby, sometimes turning on the kids' station on the radio so she could listen to her beloved music. He also seemed to be quite a social gnome, as two other gnomes soon joined him in the garden, appearing mysteriously on their own and joining Mr Gnome on his journeys around the lot. It was frightening at first, but soon the family came to see them as a part of the household, even if the children would sometimes have a bad day and kick one of them. They always apologized afterwards!

After many years of hard work, Violet saw her children grow up into rambunctious teens who were always getting in some sort of trouble, but still managing to make As in school. She also saw her garden grow into the masterpiece she had always dreamed of owning. In her backyard, she had a small gated paradise filled with perfect plants, including not just regular produce but exotic species like flame fruits, life and death fruits and she had also gained the ability to grow unconventional "produce" like cheese, eggs, steaks and hamburgers, much to her husband's delight. Hamburgers were his favorite food!

Once she had reached the pinnacle of her gardening skill, she found that her garden practically maintained itself, and with her little orchard of money trees, the family never needed to worry about their finances again. Although she continued to tend her garden every day, she found herself with a lot of free time and her husband still had not achieved his dreams, nor had her children reached their own young adulthood. Determined to keep busy, she started a garden blog, which gathered followers quickly and soon led to a book deal. Her books were used as guides by home gardeners all over Sunset Valley at first, then all over the known Sim world. Being an excellent home cook, she also published a popular series of cookbooks that taught people how to cook using produce they grew themselves. She opened her garden to the public once a month and gave a tour and lecture on a different theme each time.

She made many dear friends throughout her life, including her neighbors, Susan and Boyd Wainwright, who became her best friends. Whenever she was feeling lonely, she would pop over and listen to them talk about computers, and they would teach her how to play video games. One of the worst days of Violet's life was the day she was visiting and Susan passed away before her very eyes. Despite the horror of seeing her best friend's ghost, she consoled herself with the fact that she got that chance to say goodbye before her longtime friend departed for good with the Grim Reaper.

The happiest day of her life came when her husband finally achieved his dreams and her children became adults and went off into the world to follow their own dreams. The next day after they moved out, however, she found that there was an empty space in her life. With her dreams fulfilled and her children out from under her wing, she was a little uncertain what to do with herself. As she delivered her usual crates of fruit, vegetables, eggs, cheese and meat to the bistro, she let herself confide a little in the chef. He told her that he was having the opposite problem. With a new family, he was having a hard time running the bistro all on his own, and he sure could use some help in the kitchen. He'd read Violet's recipe books and he offered, if she could still make the time to provide him with supplies, to let her work in the kitchen with him. She excitedly accepted and now Violet is on to the next step in her life's adventures ... working in the food service industry.

[I had to go back into my characters' files after switching households and I discovered they had gone and gotten themselves jobs on their own, so I've given Violet a little epilogue to her story :)]

Welcome (again) to the forum!

Violet is gorgeous! And I absolutely love the gnomes! :)
A brave Jason and a musical Ruby? Sounds like an interesting pair! Poor Susan, she died so young - well, considering Boyd is older than her, right?
Best of luck to Violet in the food industry!

Thank you! The gnomes were so funny ... I really did start to think of them as part of the family. I had no idea that gnomes could just appear, but that's why I love this game. No matter what you plan it, you still get some surprises.

Susan was an elder when she died, so even though she went first, she still lived a long life! Many of the original townies were elders by the time my first group of kids made it to young adult.

And thank you Pam, for moving this to the correct spot. I tried to look around for the most appropriate place, but I guessed wrong.

This is interesting. I hope to see your kids in the next chapters!  ;)

And my kicked out Sims never find a job of their own. I wonder why.

How funny ... I was really surprised to see that they suddenly had jobs, I guess they were tired of being self-employed! And yes, the kids are coming soon, but first, the husband.

Chapter 2: Jason Greythorn - The Master Tinkerer

Lifetime Wish: Ultimate Tinkerer
Traits: Genius, Grumpy, Neat, Artistic, Workaholic
Partner: Violet Greythorn
Children: Max Greythorn, VF-23 Greythorn, Ruby Greythorn
Sign: Scorpio
Career: Freelance Writer
Favorite Music: Indie
Favorite Food: Hamburger
Favorite Color: Grey
Best Friend: Gobias Koffii

Bio

When Jason met Violet, his entire life changed. He had been born in the city and thought he would stay in the city his entire life. He also thought he would never be married. Meeting Violet changed his thoughts on everything. Suddenly he understood why people got married and the kind of life he wanted for himself started to look very different than it once had. When she proposed moving out to Sunset Valley, he couldn't say yes fast enough. He had had enough of his soul-sucking corporate job and was ready for a change of pace.

Once they moved, he quit his job and found that he was most happy just puttering around the house fixing things, upgrading their appliances, playing chess and searching the galaxy with his telescope. But those things didn't make money, so he also tried his hand at writing in order to bring in some income. He didn't make friends as readily as Violet, but there was one old co-worker of his who had also moved to Sunset Valley named Gobias Koffii. Gobias was eager to have a friend in the new town and so he kept calling and inviting Jason over. Though Jason was fairly anti-social, they eventually fell into a comfortable friendship that would turn out to be a lifelong relationship.

While Jason's life was fairly quiet and humdrum for the most part, as he preferred to putter around the house most of the time, Violet found him to be quite full of surprises. First, there was his sense of humor. He was ridiculously funny and the humor books he wrote became quite famous.

Then there was the day he went stir crazy, ran outside, and began building a series of tragic clown snowmen.

Or there was the time Gobias insisted that Jason come to his Spooky Day party and Jason picked a most surprising costume:

Some jerk dressed as a boring doctor made fun of him and embarrassed him, but he was able to recover by watching TV away from the crowd with a fellow hot dog friend.

Of course the biggest surprise was what happened late one night. He awoke in the wee hours of the morning to a strange glow pulsating just outside of his window. Being a science enthusiast, he just had to go investigate this strange anomaly. No sooner had he begun to inspect the strange light field when he lost all consciousness. He awoke back in his bed with no memory of what had happened in the night. Thinking it was just a strange dream, he went on about his business. Pretty soon, he began to notice that he was gaining weight. He started to eat a healthy diet and went to the gym every day, but it just wasn't working. He soon found out why. One day, as he was going about his business, he felt a strange cramping in his stomach, followed by a rush of terrible pain and then he started to see the strange lights again and an otherworldly flying vehicle approaching. At that point, a welcome darkness took him over and he passed out.

When he awoke, everything was back to normal, including his body shape. But one thing was very different. Next to him was a baby, with dark green skin. She was a girl and there was a small tag around her ankle that read "VF-23." In some arcane way, Jason knew that she was his. His and some alien's that he didn't even know. Though her mother had abandoned her to earth, Jason would not abandon this little creature that needed him. He brought her inside and she was a part of the family from that day on. Though Jason and Violet tried to give her a human name, they couldn't help thinking of her as "VF-23," and that soon became her actual name.

Jason loved his children, both human and alien, and even when they were all crying and screaming at once, he would wish for more. But Violet put her foot down at three and insisted they were done and he sighed a little bit, but agreed it was for the best.

In any case, there was tinkering to do and chess to be played. He continued to explore the galaxy, wondering which of those astral bodies VF-23's mother was on. It soon came to pass that he achieved his lifelong dream to become both an expert handyman and a master of logic. He received certifications of his skill in each area and was able to relax into comfortable routine of writing and doing whatever the heck he wanted.

He was happy to see his children grow into amazing young adults, and one of his fondest memories was the day he slow-danced with his daughter-in-law on his oldest son's wedding day.

When his children left the household and Violet began working, he too found himself with more free time than he had ever dreamed of having. Rather than go back to any sort of desk job, though, he bought season tickets for all of the local teams' games and indulged his love of sports watching to the fullest. At home he may be consumed in work or his latest puzzle, but at the stadium you're likely to see him with face painted, jersey on and cheering rowdily with a group of superfans. And that's just the way he likes it.

[So, I had a few more pictures with this one and will have much more in future updates. The children are still working their way through their LTWs but I hope to introduce them and post their stories soon!]

I love the alien abduction! VF-23 huh? Interesting, at least she'll never have to worry about another kid having the same name as her! I can't wait to read more about the kids. :)

Thanks! I realized that it was a bummer not to see even a hint of the kids, so starting with the next generation I took pics of their kids in toddler and child stage to include in the parents' life story so you can get a sneak peak at what's coming up. :)

The Second Generation

Yay! The first of the second generations kids has reached her lifetime wish goal. I don't want to wait to do it in order, so even though she is the second in birth order, she gets the first bio page. I now present to you: VF-23 Greythorn.

Chapter 3: VF-23 Greythorn - The Chess Legend

Lifetime Wish: Chess Legend
Traits: Inappropriate, Genius, Loner, Clumsy, Kleptomaniac
Partner: Cycl0n3 Sw0rd
Child: L4z3R Greythorn
Mother: Faon Qomiphash (alien)
Sign: Sagittarius
Career: Petty Thief/Chess Pro
Favorite Music: Kids
Favorite Food: Spaghetti with Veggie Sauce
Favorite Color: Lilac
Best Friend: L4z3R
Enemy: Tamara Donner

Bio

Although VF-23 was born to a human father on the planet Earth and was raised as any other human child, there must be something neurologically different to the alien brain because in many ways she acted and spoke like someone totally unfamiliar with human behavior, though she had been raised to follow human conventions. She simply could never learn manners and was often inappropriate. She seemed to have a hard time navigating human spaces and was always tripping and bumping into corners and walls. The family had to be careful where they took her, not because of her alien looks, but because she had a habit of just stealing things that appealed to her, and despite the fact that she was clearly a genius, they could not make her understand that it was wrong to take other people's things.

Or at least, that's how it seemed. The truth is, VF-23 knew she didn't fit in, no matter how much her family loved her and treated her as if she did. She knew that the only reason the kids at school didn't bully her all the time was because of her brother, Max, who was the most popular guy in school. Everyone wanted to be on his good side and that meant being nice to his sisters, even if they weren't exactly the popular type themselves.

The truth was, when she stole things, VF-23 felt like she was getting a kind of revenge for every disgusted look or whispered joke that she felt around her as she moved through the world. When she looked at the trophies she had collected from the houses and businesses in town -- the sculptures, vases, plates, etc. -- it made her feel happy inside. Every time they they made her feel bad just for being herself, she would take something from them. Keep things even.

She really started to feel different when she became a teen. She suddenly stopped being tired at all at night. She would lay down in her bed like everyone else, but sleep just wouldn't come. At first she tried to just lay there and wait for morning, but she soon realized she would go insane if she did that every night. And that's how she discovered the internet. The internet was a revelation to her -- no one could see how different she was, so she was treated just like any other person. And nobody cared about being polite or appropriate on the internet so she could say whatever she felt and still fit right in. She soon began to spend long hours through the night just trolling on forums. She knew it wasn't productive, but she just couldn't help it. It was the only thing that made her feel normal and made her forget how alien she was.

Violet, a light sleeper, soon figured out what VF-23 was doing and voiced her concerns to Jason. She figured there was nothing they could do about their daughter not sleeping, since she had an alien biology, but it just didn't seem healthy, sitting on the internet like that all night long. They decided that rather than just tell her not to do that anymore, which would never work with a moody teen, they would try a different approach. That weekend, Jason sat her down and asked her if she would like to learn how to play chess.

Jason was a chess enthusiast and played a lot as a hobby. He began to play with VF-23 and she took to it instantly. Soon, chess took up many of her late night hours, both practicing on the house chess table and playing online, rather than trolling forums. Over one of their games, Violet asked him if he had ever tried to compete professionally.

"Once, I did." he answered, "And I even won my first game, but I decided not to go on after that."

"Why not?"

"Oh, it just wasn't for me, the competition. Our neighbor, Jamie, convinced me to try it since she would be my first opponent, and I accepted her challenge. I actually won, but Jamie and I became friends too and I didn't like the feeling of knocking her off the board."

"What ever happened to her? I remember her playing the guitar for me when I was little, but she stopped coming around, it seems like."

"Yes, well ... we became very good friends, but she was really looking for something more than friendship. Once she met her husband, she became involved in her marriage and children and our friendship faded a little. We still talk on the phone or when we run into each other outside, but that's about all we can handle these days."

VF-23 nodded like she was really interested, but her mind was already far away. She had no reservations about competing against others. She was going to be a chess pro and beat them all ....

[To be continued! I'm going to break these bios into segments so they aren't so long on one post and also to give me time to complete other characters' stories while still keeping the posts coming. So more of VF-23's story will come tomorrow!]

Thank you! I really love the way she turned out. She looks so different but very cool, and her child will be carrying on her alien genes as well. :)

Chapter 3 continued

When VF-23 and her siblings became young adults, they decided to move out and live together. Max found a great deal on a downtown loft and their parents gave them a nice nest egg to start off with. VF-23 was thrilled at first. The place was spacious, with so much room for the three of them to live together but still give each other space. But that didn't last of course. It seemed like they had barely moved in when Max ran out and proposed to his high school sweetheart. And it seemed like they were barely married before they had a little nooboo added to the household. The previously spacious loft began to feel a little full. VF-23 had a hard time finding privacy, which was essential to her, as she was a bit of a loner. The only place she was sure to have completely to herself was her private balcony. She would sit out there even on the most freezing days, no matter the weather, just to get some time to herself.

Her favorite time of day was night time still. The house would go quiet and she could go anywhere and do anything without tripping over her roommates. Of course she still spent most of her time practicing her chess or hanging out online. She was almost ready to hit the pro chess circuit, so she needed those night time hours to advance her skills and get herself ready. Once more people started to move in, she also found a new job for herself. With so many people using them, every appliance in their household seemed to break constantly, and their housekeeper couldn't even begin to keep up with the mess. So late at night, VF-23 would creep through the house and recombobulate all their broken appliances and put away the odd plates and glasses she found lying around everywhere. Her siblings were busy with their new adult lives and didn't even seem to notice, but it made her happy to think of herself as the good fairy of the house. She was usually the troublemaker and the rude one, so it was nice to be the responsible one in some way for a change.

She wasn't the only one who had to get used to the new situation. While her sister and brother were used to her ways, Max's new wife Sandi had no experience living with an alien and was a little weirded out by some of VF-23's habits. For example, though VF-23 didn't sleep, all of the brain power she used repairing their broken things needed to be restored. This required going into a meditation trance for several hours at a time.

Sandi would wander in and being her typical absent-minded self, would be talking to her sister-in-law for 15 to 20 minutes before she realized what was actually going on. Oops!

In revenge, VF-23 would often sneak up on Sandi and pretend she was going to probe her. VF-23 thought this was hilarious. Sandi, not so much. They really never became the best of friends, but for the most part, they got along well.

VF-23 probably would have had a pretty lonely life, if it weren't someone who came along and changed everything. Her niece, Amanda.

When Amanda came along, VF-23 discovered that while she didn't get along so well with adults, she loved children. Amanda, having known her aunt's green face since she was born, never once thought of VF-23 as strange or different. To her she was just another person in the house -- her best friend in the house, in fact.

Another of the advantages of never sleeping is that Auntie VF-23 could be there for the children of the house at any time. When one of them cried out in the middle of the night, she was the first one there, hushing and soothing them so their parents wouldn't wake. Because her schedule also left her more free time, she was able to help them get their essential skills trained as toddlers so they could grow up well and when they were children, could tutor them in logic so they would do well in school.

All of the children in the house grew to love their auntie and when something was wrong or scary, she was the first person they would run to for care and protection. The time she spent with her first niece, Amanda, changed everything for her. Before, she was just focused on her chess skills. She had advanced far enough to enter the tournament and was already crushing her first opponents. She should have been supremely happy, but as she held her soft little niece in her arms, she couldn't help but think that something was missing. And for the first time in her life, she actually felt ... lonely. Could there ever be someone out there who could love her in a romantic way, just for herself?

[to be continued]

Thanks guys :D I think we can make VF-23 happy ... for now.

Chapter 3 continued

As it happened, VF-23 didn't have long to wait before she met her match. It was a lazy weekend and her sister, Ruby and sister-in-law, Sandi decided to play an impromptu concert in the area between their loft and the public swimming pool. Lots of people came through right there to go swimming so they figured it was a quick and dirty way to earn some tips. They soon drew quite a crowd of swimmers and some neighbors too and fun-loving Sandi invited everyone in for a party afterwards. Hey, it's Saturday right?

When everyone piled into their loft, VF-23 beat a hasty retreat back up to the second floor, overwhelmed by all the guests. She was hiding in her bedroom with a good book when she heard someone bumping around outside her door. She whipped the door open and confronted the intruder. It was a tall, thin man who kept his sunglasses, hat and trench coat on even though he was inside.

He jumped, startled, and said "Sorry, sorry ... I was just looking for a computer. It got kinda overwhelming down there and I just wanted to get away and check my email for a min- ... whoa are you an alien?!"

VF-23 started to shut her door on him, but he stopped her "Hey, no wait, it's cool! I mean ... I've always wanted to meet one--whoa is that a Chessmaster Pro chess board?!"

VF-23 sighed and let him in. She really wasn't much for these alien enthusiasts. They didn't really care about her at all. They just wanted to tell people they knew an alien. But he soon seemed to forget about the alien thing, amazingly, and as they talked, they realized they already knew each other from the online message boards. He went by the name Cycl0n3 Sw0rd and they had already spent ages debating and discussing everything under the sun.

They quickly started talking like old friends and pretty soon, this happened:

The moment of her first kiss was a moment of pure bliss for VF-23. So this is what it was like ... but no sooner had it started than Cycl0n3 pulled away.

"I'm sorry, V ... I can't. Not because of you ... you're amazing. It's because of me. I ... I'm already with someone. I can't go further with you because you are worth more than that. You're much more than an 'other woman' and you deserve my whole heart before we do this."

Of course. This would be the way it happened for her. Sighing, she turned away, not wanting him to see the disappointment in her face and the tears in her eyes.

"Look," he said softly, "Things haven't been good between me and Tamara for a while. I think we've been holding on because we were scared to let go. Neither of us really thought we would do any better. But now that I've met you, I'm going to end it for good, I swear. Looking at you, I can see so many possibilities I never saw before. You're someone I could really be with ... in a serious way."

"Sure," she replied listlessly. "Look me up when you're single."

She couldn't look at him anymore. If she did, she would break down. So she just stared at the wall until she heard the door close behind her. She curled up on the bed and returned to her book.

She kept to her room most of the time after that, only coming out at night when everyone was asleep. About a week later, she was picking up the mail when she saw a slumped figure making its way to their door.

It was him. He stared at her for a long time, with a thousand thoughts dancing in his eyes before he finally spoke.

"I did it," he said. "I broke up with Tamara. She kicked me out, and I'm homeless, but I don't care. If you will have me, I will do whatever it takes to get back on my feet and be worthy of you, V."

VF-23 thought it over for what seemed like 1,000 years. Then she responded: "I like that new nickname. It's nice to have a name without numbers in it. Anyway, you better bring your stuff to my room. If you're going to be mine, you can't be all smelly from sleeping on the street."

He grabbed his small bag of things and practically leaped upstairs with her. Almost as soon as they were there, she turned and said, "Look, I'm not big on human conventions. I never really understood them. So let's skip all the preliminaries and let me just ask you ..."

"You wanna get married?"

C, as he was now called, stood stunned. V got really nervous for a second. She thought at first she had made a mistake, but then he grinned and answered "There's no doubt in my mind. Let's do it right now."

And without further ado, they became a Mr. and Mrs. They were an unconventional match, but a great one. Neither one of them minded the other's strange habits. And it was great for V to have someone to practice chess with. She had made her move about halfway up the ranks of the chess ladder, but she was starting to hit walls with her latest opponents. C helped her refined her strategy and up her game. And the two of them even got each other outside every once in a while.

It wasn't long before V felt something ... stirring inside her late at night. The thing she had been wishing for had finally come true. She was pregnant. As soon as C woke up she ran to tell him. At first he picked her up and hugged her, whirling her around in excitement. But then he set her down and suddenly looked very serious.

"V ..." he said hesitantly, "There's something I have to tell you ..."
