Can you run 2 households
« on: August 28, 2014, 02:20:42 PM »
Is there a cheat or MOD to spread your household to more than one lot?
I have the MOD to allow more than 8 sims but I just wondered if you can move some to another house but still play them with out going through edit town & switching households?

Many thanks in advance

One of the expansions allows you to buy a second home.

You can do that. But you can't split and play two households. You just set the beds in the second home and you have to manually tell your sims to go home there, or they will go to the main house. It's a bit of a pain, but it can be done.

Also, career carpools and school busses will always go to the 'main' home and if you tell a sim to 'Go Home' they will go to the main residence.  So keep that in mind when giving instructions.  If they have a car, just have them 'Go To Work' with the car.  Playing with an additional home generally means you have to micro manage a bit more.  But it is possible.  In the past, if I've done this, I've had the sims at the additional home be self employed.

Maybe you could purchase a community lot as well as your home lot, built a house on the community lot and have some sims live there. You won't be able get a stove but if you can overlook that, it could work.
