files ending in?
« on: August 30, 2014, 10:14:37 PM »
So I've checked a bunch of guides and asked a bit on here about installing Custom Content. What has been a recurring question for every guide from me is, when it says "files ending in .package, simspack or .sim", what if it doesn't end in any of these? Where do you put it then? It seems I've asked and searched and checked and in every guide or answer there has always been something different. Does anyone know of a good guide that is accurate in explaining the installation of sims 3 custom content? Thanks.

Okay, so I figured this one out, and I decided I would explain just in case anyone else has this problem because it was really aggravating. My computer uses zip files, so I didn't know that certain files were actually what windows calls a "zipped" folder. You have to use a file opener on these to extract the files and send them to either overrides or downloads. Some of these files that may confuse people who aren't really technical might end in .rar, or .7z. Thanks anyway guys!
